Sky TV expert reveals three little-known buttons to instantly skip ads, unlock secret ‘night mode' and lost remote trick

A SKY insider has shared some of his little-known tricks to get the best out of your TV.
Sky Glass and Sky Stream hide a number of handy hacks, including ways to instantly skip ads faster than ever and a secret "night mode" that may come in very useful.

Never lose your remote again

Faster ad skipping
So let's start with the ads first of all.
If you pay for ad skip, you can bypass any breaks but some viewers go through the long process of manually fast forwarding.
"Don't fancy watching the ads?" Matt Rye, Sky's Director of Product Management told The Sun.
"Upgrade to the ad skip feature for the option to skip through them all using the 'skip ads' button that pops up on screen as soon as the
break begins."
This button will take you straight to the show content with needing to work out when to hit stop after fast fowarding.
Night Mode
Night Mode is a special feature that prevents you from waking up the entire household.
This can come in especially useful for loud booms during a movie.
"If you're a late-night TV watcher like I am, especially when watching movies until the early hours of the morning, you might not want to disturb everyone's sleep with loud volume," Matt says.
"For this, we have night mode.
"An optional setting, which reduces the volume level of dramatic sounds.
"Press the three dots button on your remote to bring up the
menu and select."

Lost your remote?
Losing your remote can be a right pain, leading to endless searches around the house or down the side of the sofa.
Fortunately, there's an easy way people forget to use to instantly retrieve their controller.
"If you've lost your remote down the back of the sofa, or
the kids have hidden it somewhere, you can ask Glass to find it for you," Matt explains.
"Say 'Hello Sky, Find my remote' and the remote will start beeping until you find it and pick it up."

"I was reading somewhere that Katie Taylor never got married because of her father, he wouldn't let her. "Katie's married, you know, and I'm thinking, 'where are you getting this s*** from?'" Dad and daughter reunited to work together in the lead-up to the 39-year-old's sensational trilogy win over Amanda Serrano on July 11. Pete had coached her during her amateur career, peaking with her winning an Olympic gold medal in London in 2012. However, they parted ways after Pete split from Katie's mum Bridget. Taylor controversially lost her title at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and turned pro later that year, and has been trained by Ross Enamait ever since. In an exclusive interview with the Irish Sun a week on from her victory over the Puerto Rican, Pete sought to dispel preconceptions concerning their relationship. He said: "We posted online that we were training together, but we were still very close. I was still over visiting her. "We've always been close, and we've been talking for the last five or six years. It was just that I didn't get involved in the training. "We were always talking boxing. That's just natural. When I call over to her, we go to the gym together. "She just asked me to help out in this camp, and that was it - but it wasn't that we rekindled this relationship. "We were close all the time. "People love these stories. I think they must have boring lives or something, because they're so interested in other people's lives. "I don't post anything about my own personal life on Instagram. Katie's the same, and then, when we put it up, you could say it went viral. "We've always been close. I was actually shocked that it went so viral, to tell you the truth."

Kerry Katona and Katie Price appear to be following in Kris Jenner's footsteps and have already mapped out their daughters' rise to fame with a huge reality show Katie Price and Kerry Katona could soon find themselves replacing original momager, Kris Jenner. Former singer Kerry and her glamour model icon Katie have appeared on dozens of reality shows over the course of their careers and now, they've set their sights on their daughters following in their showbiz footsteps. It comes as no surprise that the daughters of two of the most recognisable women in the nation have allegedly been flooded with offers in the past to appear on various shows and now, Kerry admits it's something she's keen for her daughter Heidi to do, alongside Katie's daughter, Princess Andre. While Princess has bagged her own reality show, which Katie has spoken openly about, Kerry admits that she would love to see Heidi and Princess appear alongside one another on a completely different show. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. The two stars met on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004, of which Kerry won, she hopes that the pair will one day find themselves in the jungle together. "I'm desperate for Princess and Heidi to do the Jungle together, imagine," Kerry said. In a joint interview with The Sun, Katie added: "I always say Love Island. Heidi and Princess need to do it together." Kerry commented: "The way I see it is, forget management, forget fame, what an amazing memory, what an amazing adventure. So I think if Heidi goes to Love Island for three months and has the best time then that's amazing." Meanwhile, she added that while people may be quick to criticise their children for being "nepo-babies", she admits that everybody has a contact, somewhere. She commented: "I can open a door for you. Whether you get through that door and you stay through it, that's on your own f****ing merit. You don't see Brooklyn Beckham playing f****ing football, because he's sh*t." But Heidi isn't the only one of Kerry's daughters that she's encouraging to appear on Love Island. Speaking to the Mirror, she previously said: "Do Love Island make a sh*t load of money, Lilly!" Meanwhile, Katie has opened up about Princess's upcoming show. Speaking to her sister, Sophie, on their podcast, she said: "Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me. "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." "You aren't on brand, Katie. You are too risky, Katie, that's why," her sister retorted. "It's pathetic. I'm her mother," Katie snapped. "It's so sad," she lamented. "When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after..." Katie was then cut off by her sister Sophie, who encouraged her to "save it for another day." The MailOnline reported that dad Peter Andre and his wife Emily will be featured but Katie will be taking a back seat. A source said: "Katie will not be in Princess's show, the decision has been made and it's final. Princess loves her mum, and they have a great relationship, but the show is all about her work and home life. "Television bosses were adamant that nothing was to be 'staged' to include Katie as it would not be a real and truthful insight into her life." The show will follow Princess up to her turning 18 in June.
