Clarks shoppers race to buy £38 holiday sandals in 4 colours before extra discount ends

Daily Record27-06-2025
Shoppers can buy the Clarks Tuscan Cross sandals in either black, tan, cream or silver.
Over the summer months one must-have pair of shoes is a comfortable sandal. Easy to slip on and off, these shoes are a summer holiday staple and can add effortless style to your outfits.
For those on the lookout for a new pair of sandals, Clarks is currently hosting a massive sale on their women's footwear. With some shoes getting discounts as big as 60 per cent, many shoppers will be able to get their hands on a quality pair of shoes for a bargain price.
One stylish pair of sandals we found in the sale is the Tuscan Cross Sandals. As part of the sale, the shoe retailer has slashed the sandals down to £43 from their usual RRP of £70.
However, shoppers have the chance to drop the price further as an additional 10 per cent will be taken off automatically at checkout, dropping the Tuscan Cross Sandals down to £38.70. Bargain hunters will need to be quick as the extra discount is said to end on Sunday.
Available in four colourways - silver leather, black leather, cream leather, or mauve suede - the shoes are stocked in sizes 3 to 8. However, at the time of writing, some sizes had already sold out in certain colours.
Blending a modern, chic look with Clarks' signature comfort-focused design, these sandals are perfect for trips to the beach, city breaks or a wee lunch date, reports Liverpool Echo. Featuring either a leather or suede upper, these sandals come with a strappy, sleek design that will complement many summer outfits.

Product Description
As designed with both style and comfort in mind, the sandals come with a breathable sock lining to make them suitable for hot days, as well as an adjustable back strap for a secure and personalised fit. Along with a flex-grooved sole and a contour cushion footbed, these shoes were made to withstand long days filled with walking.
Another stylish sandal in the Clarks sale is the Evamar Sun Leather Sandal. Normally priced at £85, the brand's sale had dropped the price down to £51. However, with the 10 per cent off, shoppers can snatch up these strappy sandals in either black or cream for £45.90.
Alternatively, New Look is selling their Black Faux Leather Flatform Sandals for £29.99. Available in sizes 5 to 9, this pair of sandals comes with cushioned padding, soft linings and flexible soles to ensure wearers have a comfortable fit.
At the time of writing there was only one review on the Tuscan Cross sandals, which awarded the shoes four stars.
They said: "This is a nice sandal, and the fit is good, but for some reason, instead of having the leather (which is lined with a kind of microfibre fabric) go down and under the sole, it is stitched to an small piece of elastic band that goes under the sole. The stitches rub a bit at the instep.
"I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it would have been better to have just the leather and not a stitched piece. It will be a nice sandal to have on holiday I hope!"
However, in terms of service quality and products, Clarks currently has a 4.7 star rating from over 46,800 customers.
One delighted shopper said: "Clarks is very good for quality and comfort. I really appreciate the good quality and the good feeling the leather is amazing and when you walk you heave very good confidence in the shoes."
Another shopper added: "Really great kids shoes, had them before in a different size so knew they'd be good!" However, they did also note: "I do wish the shipping would be £1 cheaper on low cost items though, £14.95 for a £10 sale item feels a bit much."
Despite this, another shopper also gushed: "Very comfortable and good quality. Clarks shoes never disappoint me."

Brits on less than £80,000 a year could owed cash from HMRC

HMRC has issued a warning to some taxpayers who may be missing out on a certain benefit. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is encouraging those earning less than £80,000 per year to check if they are missing out on cash benefits. In particular, many could be failing to claim Child Benefit. In a recent update, HMRC's official X account said: "If you earn under 80k and haven't claimed Child Benefit yet, it could be financially worth your while. You or your partner can now earn up to £60k before you start paying the High Income Child Benefit Charge." ‌ As reported by the Liverpool Echo, families are being urged by the tax authority to submit their claims either online or through the HMRC mobile app. The purpose of Child Benefit is to assist with the costs of raising children, open to all parents and caregivers in charge of minors. ‌ This scheme, run by HMRC, provides regular payments for each child until they turn 16, or up to 20 if they remain in full-time education or approved training. Importantly, claiming Child Benefit can also add to one's National Insurance record, aiding future State Pension eligibility. At present, families receive £26.05 weekly for the first child, an annual contribution of £1,354.60, with further children adding £17.25 to the weekly budget. As such, a family with two kids would see £2,251.60 a year, and a three-child household £3,148.60. Under the High Income Child Benefit Charge regulations, benefits progressively diminish when an individual's income reaches £60,000 and are completely withdrawn for those earning £80,000 or more. If you or your partner earn £60,000 or less per annum, you're eligible to claim the full Child Benefit amount, provided the child lives with you, or if you contribute a similar weekly sum towards their upkeep. Only one parent or guardian can make a claim for each child. ‌ You're qualified to claim Child Benefit 48 hours after registering your child's birth, or once a child starts residing with you, and it can be backdated for up to three months. You can apply online, by post, or via phone, and you'll need the child's birth or adoption certificate along with your bank details for payments. You'll also need to provide your National Insurance (NI) number, and your partner's NI number if applicable. The Child Benefit threshold is determined based on one parent's earnings, not the combined household income.

Major shoe retailer axes 1,200 jobs after sales fall nearly £100,000,000

Clarks has blamed 'challenging market conditions' after laying off more than 1,200 workers amid a sales slump. The 200-year-old shoe retailer reported a fall in revenue from £994.5 million in 2023 to £901.3 million. Its latest corporate filings show it suffered pre-tax losses for the second year in a row, amounting to £39.2 million last year. Meanwhile its headcount fell from 7,413 to 6,161 in the same 12-month period. The firm last posted a pre-tax profit in its 2022 accounts, amounting to £35.9 million. The filings said results were 'significantly impacted' by a £32.1 million drop in the value of right-of-use assets, store property, plants and equipment. Clarks is still being led by an interim executive committee nearly 15 months after then-CEO Jon Ram resigned after two years in the job. A statement signed off by the board said: '2024 was a year of transition within the business, as internal and external factors created a variety of challenges. 'Externally we were faced with challenging global market conditions. 'With a high number of major elections taking place in countries like the United States, United Kingdom, India, the European Union and several emerging markets, businesses and consumers faced uncertainty regarding potential shifts n trade policies, regulatory frameworks and fiscal strategies. More Trending 'This had a significant impact on the economy, driving volatility in financial markets, influencing investment decisions and shaping economic policies. 'Coming on the back of continuing major conflicts and inflationary pressures, this led to reduced consumer demand in 2024. 'FY24 has therefore been a year of tradition for the Clarks Group with cost rationalisation and reduction to fix the foundations for our future. 'Significant changes have been made to the operations in the year to right size the overhead cost for the current business size, refocus the marketing approach, reposition the product assortment and set up the business for recovery and sustainable profitable growth in 2025.' Boots' £19 Korean cream turns skin into 'glass' with 'beautiful glow'

The Eastern skincare product has gained popularity online as it leaves people with a "hydrated" glow, according to shoppers Boots customers are raving about a product that's become a hit thanks to an online trend of introducing the Western world to beauty tips from the East. Those seeking the coveted "glass skin" look have been singing the praises of a particular "thick and luxurious" face cream. The glass skin trend comes from Korean beauty (K-beauty). It refers to skin that appears incredibly smooth, clear, and radiant, much like a polished piece of glass. The look is marked by a vibrant, healthy glow that seems to emanate from within, with very few visible imperfections such as pores or blemishes. As of July 4, 2025, Boots is treating its online customers to a 10% discount on selected Korean beauty products, with some items priced as low as £9. The Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream, usually retailing at £21 for a 50ml pot, has been marked down to just £18.90. Boots describes this "all-in-one cream" as packed with "good-for-skin ingredients" like rice bran water, ginseng water, squalane, and niacinamide. The brand notes: "These ingredients help to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and balanced. The firm texture sinks into your skin, providing moisture and nourishment from deep within." Designed for everyday use, the moisturising cream has gained a mass of positive five-star reviews from shoppers, reports the Liverpool Echo. One customer said: "I have hyper-sensitive skin, and it helps soothe it. I put it after vitamin C serum before going to bed. It's not perfumed, which is great." Another added: "It makes my skin refreshed and looks glowy. Definitely will buy again!" A third chimed in: "Keeps my skin hydrated and sits beautifully under makeup - it's my go-to daily moisturiser!" Some customers encountered problems, with one buyer claiming: "It has a weird consistency and isn't hydrating at all; the product just sits on top of your skin and leaves it sticky." Another suggested: "It feels very hydrating but so sticky on my face after an hour or so, since I have oily skin. My skin has also broken out, and I do have acne-prone skin, but before using this cream, I had no spots at all!" But most Boots customers reported far more favourable experiences. A different five-star reviewer shared: "Best moisturiser I've used in a long time, and I've tried a few! It feels thick and luxurious. It does take a few minutes to soak in, but it leaves the most beautiful glass skin behind, that feels hydrated all day!" And, one more added: "Very good cream! It's not sticky, and your skin looks hydrated and nice. I totally recommend it." Similar Korean products are available at other UK retailers. Superdrug sells APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Facial Cream (£9), and Amazon offers this Etude House SoonJung Barrier Intensive Cream (£13.39). What makes Korean skincare so popular? Korean skincare's appeal lies in its emphasis on cutting-edge, powerful, yet mild formulas. These products frequently feature distinctive ingredients and a comprehensive multi-stage regimen aimed at promoting lasting skin wellness and achieving a luminous "glass skin" appearance. Women's Health reports that Korean skincare has become a hit because some of its ingredients blend age-old natural extracts with cutting-edge compounds. The products aim to pamper the skin gently, reducing redness and swelling, yet still promise impressive outcomes. The worldwide craze for K-pop and K-dramas has showcased the coveted "glass skin" look and the skincare secrets behind it to a massive audience, thanks to the power of the internet. Beauty influencers have been instrumental in the rise of K-beauty, sharing reviews and beauty regimes for their followers.
