Back in January, McDonald was found guilty by a jury on charges of tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, and dereliction of duty, among others.
Prosecutors said in March of 2023, McDonald was pursuing a motorist when the motorist's car crashed in Cleveland. Evidence showed McDonald left and didn't report the incident to dispatch.
In the end, McDonald was led from the courtroom in handcuffs after a judge sentenced him to four years in prison.
Next up, former East Cleveland sergeant Anthony Holmes.

Prosecutors said Holmes struck the victim's vehicle and told another officer to say the victim had struck his vehicle. In the end, a judge sentenced Holmes to one year in prison.
Last, former East Cleveland police detective Ian McInnes.
Last year, McInnis was found guilty of felonious assault, assault, interfering with civil rights and dereliction of duty. Prosecutors said McInnis was involved with three different cases of assault during arrests.

Law school grad has medical emergency and collapses during bar exam in New York

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — A law school graduate collapsed while taking the bar exam in a New York City suburb this week, prompting an emergency response as other aspiring lawyers worked on their exams. But some Reddit users claiming they were among the test-takers Wednesday say they're upset the exam wasn't halted outright. Hofstra University spokesperson Terry Coniglio said Friday that the test-taker collapsed shortly before a scheduled lunch break at the Long Island campus. Hofstra Public Safety officers immediately provided life saving emergency care, including CPR and defibrillation, until paramedics arrived and transported them to a local hospital, she said. The New York State Board of Law Examiners, which administers the exam, said the medical emergency occurred 'only a few minutes' before the end of the exam's morning session and staff promptly contacted emergency responders. 'The exam concluded as our staff was obtaining medical aid for the candidate,' the Friday statement said. 'As soon as the exam ended the proctors collected the exams and the candidates were dismissed from the room so that EMTs could provide the needed medical care to the candidate.' The university and the state board wished the law candidate, who has not been named, a speedy recovery. The board said it is also continuing to review what happened, including which candidates may have been impacted, and 'will formulate an appropriate response in due course.'

4 killed in bar shooting in Anaconda, Montana; authorities searching for suspect

Four people were killed in a shooting at a bar in Anaconda, Montana, on Friday, authorities said. A suspect is at large. The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed to CBS News that the shooting happened at The Owl Bar in Anaconda at around 10:30 a.m. local time. The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Department identified the suspect as Michael Paul Brown and said he was believed to be armed and dangerous. "If seen do not approach," the department said. "Contact 911 for any way to contact Michael Paul Brown." Authorities were searching for the suspect west of Anaconda near Stumptown Road and Anderson Ranch Loop Road, the state Division of Criminal Investigation, which is leading the investigation, said in a statement. "We are asking people to please avoid the area," the agency said. The sheriff's office for neighboring Granite County said on social media that the suspect was wearing a tie-dye shirt, blue jeans and an orange bandana. The sheriff's office said the suspect's house in Anaconda had been cleared by a SWAT team. A local newspaper, the Anaconda Leader, which is published twice a week, said on social media that its office was closed and Friday's edition wouldn't be delivered until the situation was resolved, but said stories would be posted online. Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte said he was monitoring the response to the incident. "Please join Susan and me in praying for the victims, their loved ones, and the brave law enforcement officers responding to this tragedy," Gianforte said on social media, referring to his wife, Susan Gianforte. So far in 2025, there have been about 256 mass shootings in the U.S., including Friday's shooting in Anaconda. In 2024, there were about 503 incidents, according to a CBS News analysis of data from the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as an incident where four or more people are shot or killed, not including the Manthey contributed to this report.
