As many who live in Cardiff know, the three restaurants are highly popular locations to eat. In January, the Llandaff gastropub, Heathcock, was awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand accolade at the Michelin Guide awards ceremony in Glasgow, which you can read more about here.
Meanwhile, Ivy Asia opened its doors to Cardiff in autumn of 2022 and is located in the Hayes right next to its sister restaurant - the Ivy. Since then, the restaurant has been a popular place to eat delicious food and enjoy opulent decor in the form of two huge fake cherry trees and green onyx floors.
Pasture, situated right next to its sister restaurant Parallel on St Mary's Street, is regularly booked up and is known for its fire-based cooking. In 2023, it was named one of the best fine dining restaurants in Britain in the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Awards.
Stein's show at the New Theatre came as part of the chef's tour to different parts of the UK, in which he spoke about his "lifelong love affair" with cooking, as well as his upbringing and culinary success. The chef took his tour to Cardiff, as well as places such as Brighton, Cheltenham and Reading.

Royal Porthcawl member Darcey Harry shines with a man who led the British Open on her bag
Welsh player Darcey Harry isn't just the home favorite at the AIG Women's British Open. She's a member at Royal Porthcawl, though she's never seen the venerable club quite like this. "It doesn't really feel like it's at home because there's so many people here and usually Porthcawl is very quiet," said Harrry. And that comment to the press came before Harry teed it up in competition. The 22-year-old LET rookie stormed to victory at the Hulencourt Women's Open in Belgium last month to play her way into what's being billed as the largest women's sporting event ever held in Wales. "I was really nervous. I'm not too sure really how I coped with it," said Harry, who opened with a 2-under 70 to trail by three. "I just tried not to look elsewhere and just keep concentrated on the golf ball and my caddie." Harry's caddie is her boyfriend, Jacob Skov Olesen, a DP World Tour rookie who co-led the men's British Open earlier this month at Royal Portrush. The Dane was also on the bag for her win in Belgium. "I need someone on the bag that's going to make me laugh and take my mind off more of the distractions," said Harry, who became a member at Porthcawl six years ago. This is the first competition she's ever played at the historic club. "I don't think I've ever had a card in hand playing here," she said ahead of the championship. "Usually when I come out, I just play nine holes. I never really come out and play 18. If I do, it's probably with my dad, just walking around, having a bit of a piss about." Olesen said he met Harry for the time around five months ago, and it remains the only round of golf they've played together. They've been dating now for two months and mainly see each other at events. Harry, for example, was in Northern Ireland for Olesen's hot start. Olesen noted that Harry's iron play is typically her strength, though right now everything about her game feels quite rounded. As for friendly competitions between the two, Olesen said, "We tied the only match we played, so no one has the upper hand. I guess she does, a little bit, having a win." Harry made her major championship debut earlier this month at the Amundi Evian and was excited for the opportunity to play alongside 2018 British Open winner Georgia Hall in the first two rounds in Wales. "I was only a junior at the time when Georgia won a few years ago," said Harry. "It was so inspirational seeing her do it. The whole country was so excited when a British player won."

Cappadocia Becomes The Next Turkish Region To Welcome The Michelin Guide
Hot air balloons over Goreme at sunrise, Cappadocia getty Culinary-minded travelers are spoiled for choice when exploring the food and restaurant culture in Türkiye—and it's not just big cities like Istanbul or Izmir that offer unforgettable meals. The Michelin Guide has this week announced that it will be expanding its reach in Türkiye, adding Cappadocia to its roster of recommended Turkish destinations alongside Istanbul, Izmir and Muğla. Although Cappadocia is best known internationally for its daily hot air balloon rides, cave hotels, and otherworldly 'fairy chimneys,' the Central Anatolian region also has a distinct food culture that is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Cappadocia and the broader provinces of Nevşehir, Kayseri, Aksaray, Kırşehir, Sivas and Niğde boast the same world-renowned hospitality that Türkiye is known for as well as a variety of regional dishes like sealed clay pot preparations, Cappadocia-style mantı (Turkish ravioli), slow-cooked meats in Tandır, and more. 'The culinary identity of Cappadocia is deeply rooted in local agriculture and traditional ingredients,' Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, said in a press release, adding that the region, having already left its mark on inspectors, should be recognized as a culinary destination as well as a historic one. Although the Cappadocia region won't officially hit the Michelin Guide until it unveils its 2026 Michelin restaurant selection at a ceremony in Istanbul later this year in December, the Michelin Guide first arrived in Türkiye in 2022 and has since become a north star for gourmands visiting the country. The Michelin Guide is now in Istanbul, Izmir and Muğla with a total of 14 Michelin-starred restaurants across the three cities. The guide was formerly criticized for omitting other big cities in Türkiye, like the capital city Ankara and the coastal city Antalya, but still provides a decent snapshot of some of the best chefs in the city. The restaurant that has earned the highest star ranking is two-Michelin-starred Turk Fatih Tutak in Istanbul—which offers up just thirty seats per night for its multi-course tasting menu. The restaurant is rooted is historic Turkish cuisine with a modern twist and all ingredients are sourced directly from Türkiye and purchased from local farmers and butchers on a daily basis. If you can't get a table at Turk Fatih Tutak (a reservation can be very hard to come by), Araka in Yeniköy and Nicole in Beyoğlu are one-Michelin-starred and also offer an incredible example of modern Mediterranean cuisine. It might also come as a surprise to know that Istanbul is also home to a vegan Michelin green star restaurant. Telezzüz in Üsküdar is a totally plant-based kitchen that strives for zero waste while offering vegan-curious diners creative and modern takes on plant-based cuisine.
