Papon thrilled to see K-pop fan daughter humming ghazals at his concert: 'This is the power of music'
The Shaam-e-Mehfil, organised by Sachi Entertainment, was held on Saturday evening at Mumbai's Shanmukhananda Hall, and saw Papon reel off several popular ghazals, starting with Jagjit Singh's Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho. At the end of the ghazal, he held the mic towards the audience, asking them to join along. As the 'jugalbandi' ended, Papon quipped, 'I saw my daughter sitting and singing. She doesn't like ghazals. Korean-vorean sunti hai (She listens to KPop). But even she was singing along. This is the power of music.' Papon on stage at the Shaam-e-Mehfil in Mumbai.
Papon then performed several iconic ghazals over the next two hours, sharing stories about them and including some of his own Shayari. For the Bollywood fans present, he sang a few of his popular filmy numbers as well, ranging from Kyon to Moh Moh Ke Dhaage and Jeeyein Kyun. A musical medley with the audience
The performance came to a close with a special rendition of Farida Khanum's Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, in which he had the audience join along as well. But before that, the singer did something special with the 1,000-odd listeners in the auditorium. As the auditorium was illuminated by cell phone flashlights, he indulged in a jugalbandi with the audience. Papon had the audience sing along, hum along, and croon along in a soulful medley sans lyrics.

Rolls-Royce Cars Of Bollywood Actors Fined 38 Lakhs. There's A 'KGF' Twist
Bengaluru: Two Rolls-Royce cars, each registered in the names of two Bollywood superstars, were fined more than 18 lakh and nearly 20 lakh, respectively, for failing to pay road tax in the capital city of Karnataka. However, they don't own these cars, at least not anymore. Both cars are owned by a local businessman-politician, Yusuf Sharif, who was using the ultra-luxury vehicles regularly. Mr Sharif claimed he bought a Rolls-Royce Phantom from Amitabh Bachchan and Rolls-Royce Ghost from another actor a few years ago, but didn't transfer them into his name. Mr Sharif is also known as 'KGF Babu' due to his roots. He is a native of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), a mining town in Karnataka, which gained popularity after the blockbuster Kannada movie series, 'KGF'. The Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Rolls-Royce Ghost are registered in Maharashtra. The exact date of when KGF Babu bought these cars is not known as of yet. But, as per the Regional Transport Office (RTO), the Rolls-Royce Phantom has been in Bengaluru since 2021, and the other one since 2023. While Phanton was fined Rs 18.53 lakh, Ghost was fined Rs 19.73 lakh over long-term usage in Karnataka without payment of local road tax. Officials revealed that the Rolls-Royce Phantom was first flagged over non-payment of taxes in 2021, but since at the time it had not completed a year in Bengaluru, it was let off without penalty. But now, both cars have been confirmed to have been operating in the city well beyond the one-year limit set by transport rules, triggering these hefty fines. RTO officials have confirmed that the ownership of the vehicles hasn't changed yet on paper. Mr Sharif, who contested from Bangalore Urban local authorities' constituency in the 2021 Karnataka Legislative Council polls, had declared assets belonging to him and his family worth over Rs 1,744 crore four years ago. He was earlier into selling scrap before foraying into real estate.

However, insiders indicate that early production work is already in motion, with shooting expected to resume in late 2025, as mentioned in a report by What's On Netflix. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Retirees Who Collect Under $3,495/mo SS Could Now Be Entitled To These 'Extra' Benefits Better Finances Learn More Undo Behind the Curtain: Production and Development Insights Hints of a third season had gained momentum since March 2025, when reports emerged that Season 3 had received internal codenames— NIGHTSHADE and RAVEN . These titles tie directly into the show's lore, referencing Nevermore Academy's secret society and its symbolic dance event, respectively. Lead actress Jenna Ortega, who has garnered critical acclaim for her portrayal of the gothic heroine, had previously indicated that work on the third installment had quietly commenced. However, she emphasized that an official confirmation had not been issued—until now. Live Events Narrative Continuity and Story Arcs Though full plot details remain under wraps, leaks and unconfirmed reports suggest a seamless narrative transition from Season 2 into Season 3. The developing storyline is said to feature redemption arcs, more intense external threats, and evolving interpersonal relationships among the student body at Nevermore Academy. The creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, expressed their commitment to building upon the show's thematic foundations. 'Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,' they told TUDUM . 'We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.' Netflix Executives React Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, praised the series' cultural influence and mass appeal. 'The undeniable impact of Wednesday resonated immediately with fans worldwide, driving it to the top of our charts as our most popular English-language TV show,' she said in a statement. 'We are thrilled to renew the iconic series for a third [season] and to deliver more of what the fans love,' Bajaria added, lauding the creative team including Tim Burton, Gough, Millar, Ortega, and the wider cast and crew. Potential Spinoff in the Works In a surprising addition to the renewal news, The Hollywood Reporter also disclosed that a Wednesday spinoff series is in early stages of discussion. While unnamed, prior reports from Bloomberg had suggested an Uncle Fester -centric spinoff was being considered by the streamer. Showrunner Alfred Gough commented on the possibility, saying, 'It's something we're definitely noodling. There are other characters we can look at.' However, he stopped short of confirming whether the proposed series would be tied directly to Wednesday 's third season. Long-Term Vision for the Series The series' creative heads remain cautious about projecting a long-term episode count. Director Tim Burton downplayed questions regarding series longevity, saying, 'I don't think that way. You're talking to two of the worst people to ask that question.' Despite the ambiguity, Gough and Millar hinted at a broader vision: 'We hope to keep Wednesday enrolled through the character's Nevermore tenure, which lasts seven years (or seasons).' Season 3 Release Date Speculation Although no official Wednesday Season 3 release date has been announced, timelines based on ongoing production activity suggest a likely premiere in late 2026, according to the report by What's On Netflix. This would hinge on swift movement post-Season 2 and the absence of major delays. With Season 2 already split into two parts and set for release during August and September 2025, audiences can expect an interlinked continuation that sets the stage for the events of the third installment. Fan and Industry Response Fans responded to the news across social media with excitement, memes, and anticipatory countdowns. The series has garnered a dedicated following due in large part to Ortega's nuanced performance, as well as the show's mix of macabre humor, teen drama, and supernatural intrigue. As showrunner Miles Millar aptly summarized, 'It's been a dark delight to watch Wednesday cast her spell over audiences across the globe—one deadpan quip at a time.' He continued, 'We're beyond thrilled she'll be returning to stalk the halls of Nevermore in Season 3. This time, she'll unearth more of the school's sinister secrets—and descend even deeper into the Addams family crypt. Or, as Wednesday would say: 'Nothing brings a family together like a good exhumation.'' FAQs Has Netflix officially renewed Wednesday for Season 3? Yes, Netflix has officially confirmed Wednesday Season 3, even before the premiere of Season 2. When was the renewal of Wednesday Season 3 announced? The renewal was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter after months of speculation and hints from cast and creators.

If you loved ‘On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous', try these 4 books next
Asian-American immigration narratives have witnessed a rise in recent years. These stories are about identities that are constructed through a confluence of oriental and Western cultures. They are focused on finding belonging in a country that one has known their whole life, yet somehow still feels a little foreign. Asian-American immigration narratives often take the form of memoirs, not just reflecting on the life of a single person, but also recollecting the history of the family and how loss, sacrifices, and trauma mould the present. Focusing on memory, queerness, and grief, among other themes. Here is a list of coming-of-age debut books by Asian-American authors: Ocean Vuong's debut novel, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous (Vintage, pages 256, Rs 550), is a lyrical reflection on the protagonist's (Little Dog) experience as a queer Vietnamese-American immigrant growing up in a middle-class family. Written in the form of a letter to his mother who cannot read, the first-person retrospective narrative evokes questions about identity, belonging, and love. The novel explores the implications of the Vietnam War in the history of his family, and the protagonist's discovery of his queerness. Stay True (Picador, pages 208, Rs 650) is a memoir written by Hua Hsu dedicated to his friend Ken who lost his life in a carjacking incident. The novel portrays a friendship which finds its roots in the simplicity of college experiences, late night hangouts, shared cigarettes, and bonding over music, before it was lost to time. As an enthusiast of the emerging indie scene, the novel is packed with musical references to bands in the late 90s, such as Nirvana and The Beach Boys. Hsu's and Ken's friendship is an unexpected one, their main similarity being their experience as an Asian-American and trying to find a sense of belonging amidst a culture that does not entirely belong to them. More by Anosha Rishi | How Bookstagram is changing the way we discover and discuss books Michelle Zauner, the Grammy-nominated indie artist belonging to the band Japanese Breakfast published her debut novel, Crying in H Mart (Picador, pages 256, Rs 650), in 2021. A memoir for her late mother, Zauner evokes feelings of nostalgia as she recounts the Korean food her mom used to make for her. As a Korean-American, going to the Korean grocery store, H Mart, becomes a deliberate way through which Zauner reconnects with her Korean roots. Crying in H Mart is also about dealing with loss of a loved one and attempting to come to terms with the grief it brings along. Unlike the other novels on this list, The Best We Could Do (Harry N. Abrams, pages 336, Rs 1581) is a graphic novel written and illustrated by Thi Bui, a Vietnam-born American graphic novelist and illustrator. The graphic is mostly monochromatic, with the exception of sepia tones that seep into the work. Thi Bui reflects on her family history as she tries to make sense of her identity and place in the present. She recounts her parents' experience during the Vietnam War, their refuge in the US following the war, and its impact on her life. A memoir written by Nicole Chung, All You Can Ever Know (Pushkin Press, pages 256, Rs 1129), is a story about her life as a Korean adopted by an American family. Although content with her family, ever since she was young Chung had questions about her biological family which finally led her to search for them after growing up. Chung reflects on her adolescence, growing up in a racially different family, and on her own parenthood as she steps into motherhood.
