Tourism Malaysia Promotes Eco-tourism In Singapore With New Stargazing Experiences
SINGAPORE, July 31 (Bernama) -- Tourism Malaysia has launched its Stargazing Packages at the ongoing Malaysia Fest 2025 in Singapore, showcasing Malaysia's most breathtaking stargazing destinations, including Bukit Merah, Pantai Pengkalan Balak, Desaru, Perlis, and Pantai Tok Bali.
Tourism Malaysia Singapore director Norliza Md Zain said the latest eco-tourism initiative offers a curated collection of over 30 ready-to-book experiences designed for astronomy enthusiasts and lovers of the night sky.

'By offering exclusive travel deals and curated tour experiences, Tourism Malaysia Singapore aims to create a dynamic platform that connects Malaysian tourism stakeholders with the growing appetite of Singaporean travellers seeking memorable journeys,' she said.
The Stargazing Packages was launched by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar at the Malaysia Fest 2025 opening day on Thursday.
Tourism Malaysia said in a statement that the initiative aims to position Malaysia as a premier destination for eco-adventure tourism by highlighting its pristine natural landscapes and unpolluted night skies, ideal for stargazing.
At the event, Tourism Malaysia's pavilion showcases a diverse range of tourism products and services, with 16 co-exhibitors offering exclusive travel deals, healthcare tourism, theme park attractions, and resort stays.
Among the holiday options available are packages from Care Luxury Hotels & Resorts, KPJ Healthcare, Hospitality 360, Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa, and Sunway Theme Parks.
Purchases made at Tourism Malaysia's pavilion also entitle visitors to redeem exclusive gifts, while participating exhibitors are offering special travel promotions in conjunction with the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign.

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Aug 3 — Legoland Malaysia Resort has expressed its continued commitment to highlighting local cultural elements with distinctive Malaysian flair in support of the Visit Johor Year (TMJ) 2026 campaign. Its vice-president, CS Lim, said the theme park has always prioritised the promotion of local culture through its seasonal celebrations and thematic events. The Johor government is targeting 12 million visitors from home and abroad in conjunction with TMJ 2026. Lim said package deals with itineraries that combine Legoland Malaysia and other locations, such as Mersing Island, Desaru, as well as eco-tourism and cultural heritage attractions, are also offered to allow visitors to explore interesting destinations in Johor. He said the park currently receives a significant number of visitors not only from within Malaysia but also from neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Indonesia, which contributes to strong economic spillover in the Iskandar Puteri area. 'Our presence supports the local economy, including hotel operations, shopping malls, transport services, and food and beverage outlets. This, in turn, generates job opportunities for the local community,' he said. Lim also shared that comprehensive preparations are already underway to accommodate the expected surge in visitors by 2026. These include upgrading key facilities, enhancing staff skills, hiring additional personnel, and planning for improved visitor capacity management, which may involve extending the park's operating hours, he said. Lim said Johor has the potential to emerge as a leading regional tourist destination, citing its strategic location and the development of key infrastructure projects such as the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and expanded transportation networks. 'Johor is easily accessible to international and regional tourists, without relying solely on domestic flights. Visitors can travel via road, ferry, or flight from Kuala Lumpur and Changi Airport. 'Therefore, we see Johor as a strategic location and not a challenge due to its proximity to Singapore (with the Johor Causeway), which is one of the busiest travel hubs in the region,' he added. — Bernama

Trump visit will cause traffic jam from hell, reckons home-grown stand-up comedian Jason Leong
US President Donald Trump's decision to visit during the ASEAN Summit in October appears to be a feather in Malaysia's diplomatic cap. However, not all Malaysians are so enamoured with the visit of the former TV reality star. One such citizen is well-known stand-up comedian Dr Jason Leong who opined that all roads leading to Kuala Lumpur, including byways, highways and even the small loose bitumen trail leading to your mother's house – will be closed. For a month as well before and after Trump's much ballyhooed visit, projected Leong who gave up his career as a doctor to focus on being a full-time stand-up comedian in 2014. The 40-year-old comic was obviously poking fun at the security measures that will be undertaken to ensure the safety of The Don while he's here. Leong foresees Trumps visit to KL would bring the entire capital city which is often gridlocked anyway to a complete and utter standstill. The post has already generated 1.2K likes, 390 comments and 87 shares at time of publication. Some commenters seemed confused by the need for a US leader to come calling at an ASEAN shindig. More than a few saw the similarities with the pandemic, claiming that the authorities might as well just declare an MCO (movement control order). It'd certainly save the hassle of being stuck in traffic for hours. Better still, just declare public holiday as seems to be the typical SOP (standard operating procedure) in Malaysia. One observer wanted a tit-for-tat response to implementation of US tariffs on Malaysian exports, taxing the special presidential ride (codenamed The Beast). However, one did see a positive side to the whole affair. Malaysians will be getting better roads as the route will be patched up to be good as new. Malaysia-Vietnam tourism boost with Vietjet Air partnership
KUALA LUMPUR: Tourism Malaysia has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vietjet Air to improve air connectivity and boost tourism between Malaysia and Vietnam. The agreement was signed during the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 launch in Hanoi. Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations. 'Malaysia and Vietnam are not just neighbouring countries, we are friends bound by deep historical and cultural ties. While tourist exchanges between our two nations have been on a steady rise, a clear sign of strong bilateral tourism potential.' He added, 'I believe there is still ample room for growth. We must step up our efforts to achieve the goal of over one million tourist arrivals annually.' The event also featured the Malaysia Food and Culture Promotion and the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme. Tiong thanked the 26 Malaysian delegates, including hoteliers, travel agents, and state tourism officers, for promoting Malaysia's diverse tourism offerings.
