Ronaldo's involvement in Esports is not new. He previously served as an ambassador for Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer and has also backed the Japanese football game UFL, which launched late last year.
In March 2025, he also announced that he will be a playable character in the popular Japanese fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, one among the titles featured at the World Cup.
Ronaldo, 40, was part of the Portugal squad which won the UEFA Nations League — the forward scored in the final against Spain. He is currently playing club football in Saudi Arabia with first-division side Al Nassr.

5 Signs You Are The Biggest Sushi Lover
Some people like pizza, some love burgers, and then there are those whose hearts beat only for sushi. If you're someone who gets excited at the sight of a sushi conveyor belt or feels pure joy while dipping nigiri into soy sauce with that perfect wasabi kick, you already know sushi isn't just a dish for you - it's love. Your friends might be craving chole bhature or biryani, but you're secretly checking if any place has good salmon rolls. Wondering if your love for sushi borders on obsession? Let's find out. Here Are 5 Signs That Prove You're The Ultimate Sushi Lover: 1. You Judge Those Who Have Never Tried To Hold Chopsticks The moment someone asks for a fork at a sushi place, a tiny part of you gasps dramatically. If that someone is your date, you are probably not calling them back. You are a pro at using chopsticks and are always excited to teach others how to use them. You cannot imagine eating sushi without chopsticks. 2. You Know All The Best Sushi Joints In Your Town If there's a sushi place in your city, chances are you've already been there. You're the official sushi guide among your friends. From the affordable ones for casual dinner plans to the fine dining ones for special occasions, you know exactly where to go. In a rush? Can't cook? 3. You Don't Mind Splurging On Expensive Sushi Some people invest in stocks; you invest in sushi platters. You don't mind enjoying expensive sushi, as long as it tastes good. You would rather get a sushi boat for your birthday than a cake. Eating sushi is an experience you want to enjoy to the fullest. 4. You Dream Of Going To Japan For An Authentic Sushi Experience Tokyo is on your bucket list, not for Disneyland or cherry blossoms (okay, maybe for them too), but mainly for that fresh sushi made by experienced Japanese chefs. Just imagining a piece of perfect salmon sushi makes you want to book flight tickets right away. Craving one already? Japan might be far, but your favourite sushi is just a tap away on a food delivery app. 5. You're Always Saying "Sushi Khaane Chale" It doesn't matter what time of day it is, your go-to phrase with friends, cousins, dates, or colleagues is - "Sushi khaane chale?" Birthdays, anniversaries, heartbreaks, good days, bad days - sushi is the solution to everything. Even if no one is free to join you, you're happy ordering your favourite maki rolls to enjoy in bed while watching your favourite show. If you could relate to all these points, congratulations - you are officially one of the biggest sushi lovers out there. Now go on, treat yourself to that dragon roll you've been craving all day. Head to your favourite restaurant or order online. After all, life is too short to say no to sushi.

India qualify for AFC Women's Asian Cup finals after beating Thailand 2-1
India secured a memorable qualification in the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 Finals with a thrilling 2-1 victory over hosts Thailand at the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium, here on Friday. The win helped India top Group B of the Qualifiers with a perfect record — four wins from four matches. For the first time the Blue Tigresses have booked a ticket to the continental championship through the qualification route. Australia will host the tournament in 2026. It will be India's first appearance at the Asian Cup since 2022, when they participated as hosts but were forced to withdraw due to a COVID outbreak in the squad. The last time India qualified outright was back in 2003, when the qualifiers did not exist in the current format. Mid-fielder Sangita Basfore was the star for India, scoring a brace to script the memorable win. She struck first in the 28th minute to put the Crispin Chettri-coached side ahead. Thailand, who came into the match as favourites and 24 places above India in the FIFA rankings, equalised through Chatchawan Rodthong just after the break in the 47th minute. However, Basfore found the net again in the 74th minute to restore India's lead. The visitors then held their nerve with resolute defending to deny Thailand any further chance to draw level. The win capped India's dominant run through the group stage. They opened their campaign with a record 13-0 demolition of Mongolia, followed it up with a 4-0 win over Timor Leste, and a 5-0 victory against Iraq. Thailand, coached by Japanese tactician Futoshi Ikeda, had also been flawless, beating the same opponents 11-0, 4-0 and 7-0, respectively, to set up a virtual knockout clash for the lone automatic qualification spot. Heading into the final game, both sides were locked with identical goal differences of +22, making the encounter a must-win for both. India had never previously beaten Thailand in women's football, including a narrow 0-1 loss in the Asian Games in China last year. But this time, Sangita and her teammates ensured history was rewritten. The qualification gives the Blue Tigresses a chance to go to new heights and with a potential maiden FIFA Women's World Cup berth in 2027, with the road to Brazil passing through Australia next year.
