Max Healthcare plans to expand bed capacity by at least 30% in FY26
Delhi-based private hospital chain Max Healthcare plans to expand bed capacity by at least 30 per cent of its current, reaching around 6,500 beds, in the ongoing financial year 2025-26 (FY26).
The hospital chain currently operates around 5,000 beds across 22 healthcare facilities, with a significant presence in North India.
Abhay Soi, chairman and managing director (CMD), Max Healthcare, told Business Standard that as the hospital enters its 25th year, the company will be looking to commission four new facilities in FY26 to mark the milestone.
The first of these, a greenfield 300-bed super speciality hospital in Delhi's Dwarka, was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Soi added that the Dwarka greenfield project reflects the company's intent to expand meaningfully by building high-quality infrastructure in locations that improve accessibility. 'The facility would include over 120 critical-care beds, 10 modular operation theatres, and advanced Cath Labs,' the company said.
He further said that the company is looking forward to commissioning three more (projects). 'One will be at Max Saket, located in the heart of our hub in Delhi. Another will be in Nanavati, Mumbai, where we are expanding later in the year, as well as one in Mohali, Punjab,' Soi added.
The Dwarka facility is the third built-to-suit facility for Max Healthcare along with ongoing projects in Mohali and Thane.
Soi added that the company is focusing on brownfield expansion through acquisitions. Commenting on the choice of cities that Max Healthcare would consider for expansion, he said the company will go to any city where at least two of its peers have proven viability.
'That means we will not go to uncharted territory,' he said, adding that the company targets a 20-25 per cent return on capital employed (ROCE) four-to-five years after the acquisition.
Till FY28, Max is aiming to invest ₹6,500 crore to add around 3,700 more beds. 'The company is reinvesting the capital it generates to build these healthcare facilities across the country,' Soi said.

Registered intermediaries allowed to use 'e-KYC Setu System' of NPCI for Aadhaar based e-KYC authentication
ANI 30 Jun 2025, 21:52 GMT+10 Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 30 (ANI): Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Monday allowed registered intermediaries to use 'e-KYC Setu System' of National Payments Corporation of India to perform Aadhaar-based e-KYC authentication for ease of doing business, the markets regulator said in a statement. Under the present framework, registered intermediaries use e-KYC services of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the securities market. This service has been accepted as a valid process for digital Know Your Client (KYC) verification using KYC User Agency (KUA /Sub-KUA) mechanism and /or the Digilocker. To further facilitate ease of doing KYC, it is stated that registered intermediaries can also use the 'e-KYC Setu System' of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to perform digital KYC. NPCI, along with UIDA,I has developed and implemented a system known as 'e-KYC Setu System' to enable digitisation of the customer onboarding. 'Registered intermediaries may use the facility of 'e-KYC Setu System' to perform digital KYC, as an additional alternate mechanism available to the them to carry out Aadhaar based e-KYC of their clients,' SEBI said in the statement. Module launched on Saral Sanchar portal for carrying out demand survey to identify frequency bands for direct assignment of spectrum to CNPN
New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued guidelines for the establishment of Captive Non-Public Networks (CNPNs). These guidelines allow enterprises to set up their own captive, private 4G/5G networks by either utilizing the spectrum assigned to the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) or through the direct assignment of spectrum, thereby ensuring secure, high-reliability, and low-latency connectivity tailored to specific operational requirements, said the Ministry of Communications. Certain frequency bands were initially proposed for direct assignment of spectrum to CNPN licensees. However, it was observed that there was a lack of a device ecosystem in the frequency band identified for CNPN. During recent analysis, it was observed that the device ecosystem for CNPN is mostly available in IMT bands and 5G technology has also considerably advanced with different use cases. Also, system integrators are keenly interested in establishing CNPN-based networks. Accordingly, the DoT has now launched a module on the Saral Sanchar portal to assess a fresh demand for spectrum in various prospective frequency bands and carry out a demand survey to identify the prospective frequency bands for the direct assignment of spectrum for CNPN-based services. The portal may be accessed at: An Office Memorandum (OM) has been issued in this regard today and the same is available on the DoT website. The eligibility criteria for the direct assignment of spectrum shall be governed by the CNPN guidelines dated June 27, 2022. Enterprises having net worth of more than Rs 100 Crores, willing to set up CNPNs by obtaining spectrum directly from DoT and System Integrators interested in establishing CNPN networks for such Enterprises are invited to participate in this exercise The details can be submitted on the portal from July 1 to July 31, 2025. Ericsson unveils first India-made antenna for global markets
New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): Ericsson on Monday released its first India-made antenna model for export, marking a significant milestone in the company's plan to build a stronger manufacturing and engineering base in the country. The new antenna, developed for high-performance networks, is ready for commercial release and international shipments are set to begin in July. It was unveiled at an event attended by Union Minister for Communications and Development of the North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M Scindia. Ericsson said in a release that it is expanding its passive antenna manufacturing and engineering ecosystem in India--building an end-to-end capability that includes local sourcing, production, and engineering, with solutions specifically designed to meet global and Indian network requirements. 'Ericsson began this journey one year ago with a focused effort to build out the local ecosystem and establish component and antenna manufacturing in India,' the release said. With more than 50 percent of antenna content now produced locally, the company said it is entering the next phase - evolving its India-based engineering capabilities to support regional adaptation, accelerate innovation, and scale with global demand. 'Ericsson's advanced passive antennas are at the forefront of next generation 5G infrastructure. As network requirements continually evolve to meet the needs of communications service providers, antennas are critical in helping them realize the full potential of their network, ensuring high performance, energy efficiency, and the best total cost of ownership,' the release said. Mikael Eriksson, Head of Ericsson Antenna System, Ericsson, said they are committed to building an end-to-end antenna ecosystem in India--one that includes local sourcing, production, and engineering.
