Mars confirms White Maltesers returning after 'huge demand'

Rhyl Journal10-06-2025
White Maltesers, which left the shelves 11 years ago, are officially coming back.
They have recently been seen by shoppers, with some wondering if it was leading to an official return.
Now Mars Wrigley, which is also responsible for M&Ms, Snickers, Skittles and, of course, Mars bars, has confirmed the news.

White Maltesers were launched by Mars in 2003 in the UK.
However, the chocolates were discontinued in 2014 due to "low sales".
Since then, fans have been demanding the treat make a return, with multiple petitions even appearing online.
One fan on X (formerly Twitter) said: "@MaltesersUK bring back the white chocolate Maltesers please."
Another person posted: "Had a dream last night that white chocolate maltesers were back and I bought a whole crate of them."
Now, after what Mars Wrigley has said was "huge public demand", the popular snack is making its "long-awaited comeback".
The new product combines the "classic Maltesers crunchy centre with a "thin layer of white chocolate".
A spokesperson from Mars Wrigley said: 'We're delighted to bring Maltesers White Chocolate back for the passionate fans who have been anticipating their return for years.
"Maltesers is all about encouraging people to look on the light side of life and so definitely try them if you've not done so before.'
White Maltesers have been spotted in some UK stores and shared on social media.
Facebook account Newfoodsuk posted a picture of a packet with the caption: "Trying the new White Chocolate Maltesers, and yes they are as good as we remember."
Fans rushed to the comments with excitement.
One said: "I need them right this instant. They are my all-time favourite snack and wanted them back so much."
Another said: "Ahhhh these are one of my favourite chocolates everrrrrr, where can I get these! I've been waiting years!!"
A third joked: "Waited my whole life for these to come back."

Starting at a 30g pack for £1.05, there is also a 74g pack for £2.50 or a 126g sharing bag for £2.95.
Maltesers White Chocolate will be widely available from June 16, Mars Wrigley said.

Selma Blair shares stunning holiday snaps after recent breakthrough in MS battle: 'I am so grateful for this time to breathe'

Selma Blair shared a slew of stunning holiday snaps on Thursday amid her battle with multiple sclerosis. The Legally Blonde actress, 53, announced earlier this year that she had gone into remission from the debilitating illness after receiving a groundbreaking new treatment. MS is a debilitating autoimmune condition that affects the brain and spinal cord and leaves people with mobility issues, memory loss and fatigue. There is no cure, but some treatments have been shown to slow progression and ease symptoms, including stem cell transplants, which doctors and scientists describe as the new frontier of regenerative medicine. Selma looked happier than ever in the holiday snaps with her son Arthur, 14, and could be seen lounging with a book and posing by the poolside. The star also showed off her incredible figure and bikini collection as she made the most of relaxing on her tropical getaway. Alluding to her battle with the illness, which Selma was diagnosed with in 2018, she wrote: 'This is the dream I love. Not the hard things or the hurt things, the tantrums and the tears, nor the searching. But that is the stuff that builds and tests. 'Then there is a pause. In every storm. And we can enjoy. And I am so grateful for this time to breathe. With Arthur and friends. 'With love, I wish us all a bit of breathing and smiling. Kisses and soar on.' The post went down a storm with the Hollywood icon's celebrity friends and fans alike. Nicole Scherzinger wrote: 'You are stunning. Thankyou for your light and inspiration.' Fans echoed the sentiments of the former Pussycat Doll in their replies, writing: 'Just watched The Sweetest Thing again the other night. It's inconceivable to me that both you and Christina have the same condition. 'You are two of my most favourite actresses and your journey has been so amazing to watch.'; 'You are my hero, not letting MS get in the way! Makes me try hard to not let it get in my way.' About six years ago, Blair underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), a procedure that extracts and then reinfuses stems cells - undifferentiated cells with the ability to develop into various specialized cell types - into a person's body About six years ago, Blair underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), a procedure that extracts and then reinfuses stem cells - undifferentiated cells with the ability to develop into various specialized cell types - into a person's body. With HSCT, patients specifically receive hematopoietic stem cells, which are immature cells that can develop into all types of blood cells, including white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets - which help blood clot. They are derived from bone marrow, peripheral blood, or umbilical cord blood. Speaking to experts have said the results of these procedures can go as far as to 'see patients go from a wheelchair to walking.' So far, this groundbreaking field of medicine has made waves in the fields of cancers, autoimmune diseases and neurological disorders. Now, doctors are using them to repair years-worth of brain damage, even restoring some paralysed patients' ability to walk by regrowing tissue. Taken from the patients themselves, the cells are purified and then implanted into an area of their body where cells have died, such as brain tissue, to regrow those types of cells.

Netflix fans 'can't think straight' after binge-watching 'incredible' drama

The series dropped on Netflix yesterday, and fans have been staying up until the early hours to finish it, with some admitting they 'cried a lot'. Netflix enthusiasts have been burning the midnight oil to binge-watch the second part of The Sandman season 2, which made its debut on the streaming service just yesterday. The concluding volume of the show's latest season has left viewers "in tears", with some fans confessing they "won't be able to think straight for a long time". ‌ Adapted from Neil Gaiman's acclaimed comic book series, The Sandman chronicles the journey of Morpheus, the Master of Dreams, as he endeavours to reclaim his kingdom's former splendour. The Netflix series' blurb states: "When the Sandman, aka Dream, the cosmic being who controls all dreams, is captured and held prisoner for more than a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused." ‌ Tom Sturridge's portrayal of the eponymous character has garnered applause, and the series boasts a glittering cast including Game of Thrones alumni Gwendoline Christie and Charles Dance, alongside Doctor Who alumna Jenna Coleman. Fans took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to express their feelings about the latest instalment of The Sandman season 2. ‌ One fan exclaimed: "Whoa! Whoa! #TheSandmanSeason2 was incredible, and I am so excited for the bonus episode coming out July 31." Another viewer posted: "So I finished watching season 2. It was a long journey that I will never forget. It's an amazing show, and amazing people working on it. I will never be the same after this, and I cried a lot of tears. I don't think I will be able to think straight for a long time." ‌ Another fan gushed: "Finished all V2 episodes in one sitting... It's almost 7am. It was so good. Tom Sturridge did an amazing job as Dream. The entire cast and team are REALLY some of the best, I cannot remember the last time a show left such an impact on me." An emotional viewer shared: "The last few episodes of Sandman were incredibly emotional. Even though I knew how the story would end, I still couldn't hold back my tears. A huge thank you to Tom Sturridge for being the best Morpheus imaginable." ‌ Get Netflix free with Sky This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. Rumours swirled that Netflix cancelled The Sandman after two seasons due to the scandal, but showrunner Allan Heinberg has clarified that the decision for a two-season arc was made prior to filming the second series, reports the Express. "The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream's story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season," he explained on X. Heinberg expressed gratitude towards Netflix for reuniting the team and providing the necessary support to create a faithful adaptation that aims to both surprise and satisfy the comic's dedicated fans and new viewers alike. The Sandman is now exclusively available for streaming on Netflix.
