Sandeep Sunkad-Dheeren's crime adventure titled Pabbar

The buzz surrounding Dheeren's next project finally ends as his upcoming crime thriller with Shakhahaari director Sandeep Sunkad was officially launched. The film, intriguingly titled Pabbar, also had its first look unveiled by the makers, featuring Dheeren in a rugged appearance, clad in winter clothing, holding a gun.
Backed by Geetha Pictures, the producers of Bhairathi Ranagal and the upcoming A for Anand, Pabbar is set to be a gripping crime adventure, weaving together an emotional personal journey with a high-stakes investigation. Director Sandeep Sunkad, who received critical acclaim for his debut Shakhahaari, ventures into new thematic territory with this film.
'While Shakhahaari was a mystery thriller, Pabbar delves into crime and adventure. There's a dual narrative—a personal transformation and an intense investigation,' says Sandeep.
Interestingly, the title Pabbar refers to a river valley in Himachal Pradesh, one of the key locations in the film. 'We start shooting in Madikeri and, depending on the weather, will move to Himachal Pradesh,' Sandeep confirms, adding that the team plans to begin shooting from May 15, and targets completion of filming by the end of this year.
'I've spent the last five months working with Dheeren. He's lost nearly 10 kilos for the role. He was one of the few actors who approached me with genuine interest—I saw a hunger in him,' he shares. 'I narrated two stories, and he chose this one.'
Sandeep reunites with the technical team of Shakhahaari, including cinematographer Vishwajith Rao and music director Mayur Ambekallu. Sandeep doubles up as the editor of Pabbar.

'What I cherish most about 'Padakkalam' is the friendships we built,' says Sandeep Pradeep

What makes a young man from Vaikom in Kerala, who once only dreamed of becoming the police officers or film heroes he saw on screen, walk the uncertain path of cinema and succeed? For 28-year-old Sandeep Pradeep, the answer lies somewhere between passion, persistence, and a hunger to live many lives in one. He did his schooling at Lisieux English School in Vaikom, where the spark of acting first began to flicker. Thereafter, Sandeep has made Ernakulam his home for the past seven years. 'The dream to become an actor started from a very young age when I used to watch movies. When I see how heroes act, I used to imitate them and maybe that's the reason why I got fascinated by it,' says Sandeep. Like many children, he once faced the timeless question posed to students when they are in school: 'What do you want to become?' He admits to the confusion, but something began to take shape inside him. 'When I used to watch movies, while seeing police characters I felt like being a police. When I saw other characters, I felt like becoming that. Then I thought when I start acting in cinema, I can be part of all this.' He also loves listening to music. Who doesn't? The song Kun Faya Kun holds a special place in my heart," says Sandeep. "There's a particular scene in the music video where Ranbir Kapoor looks up it's etched in my mind. That moment always stays with me." A huge admirer of Ranbir Kapoor, Sandeep hopes to meet the actor one day. 'I just want to meet him someday,' he says with a smile. Even back in school, he was drawn more towards co-curricular and arts activities, and slowly, that interest bloomed into ambition. 'I used to study just for getting through the exams. I didn't study to excel,' he adds with a laugh.

Ram Kapoor says he has earned enough money to support four generations, bought Rs 5 crore Lamborghini ‘without thinking'

Ram Kapoor became a household name after his roles in Kasam Se and Bade Ache Lagte Hai. Being among one of the highest-paid television stars of his generation, Ram Kapoor has collected several luxury cars, including Mercedes-AMG G63, BMW X5, a Porsche, a Ferrari, and most recently, a Lamborghini Urus worth approximately Rs 5.21 crore. The actor recently shared that he has earned enough money for at least four generations, and can afford expensive things 'without thinking' too much about it. In an interview with Humans of Bombay, the actor said, 'I have always been crazy petrol-head. I have really been into cars and bikes. People who are into cars and bikes like me, and people who can afford it, they mostly have these collections. The difference is mine is talked about, while my friends who have better collections than me are not in the public eye, because they mostly belong to the corporate world, theirs are not talked about. So if someone is a petrol-head like me, once you can afford it without thinking, you will have it because I don't like spending money on anything except that.' He added, 'Watches and cars are the only things I love, so people who can afford these watches they have fantastic watch collections. It's just that a lot of people who have it, they like to keep quiet about it. Even we want to keep quiet but unfortunately because I am in the public eye, the media gets to know about it. Yes, I do have a car collection. I have a Ferrari, a Porsche but the thing is we don't like to show it off.' ALSO READ | Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar: You're all very mean to Arjun Kapoor; all he needs is a great director to guide him Ram Kapoor said he never personally posts about any of his luxury purchases, but the news somehow gets out. 'When I bought the Lamborghini, I had clearly told the dealer that don't put press there. However, they had their in-house photographer. Now, the minute they uploaded it on their site, the media took it. How can I stop this? I am lucky that I can afford all this.' In the same interview, Ram Kapoor claimed that he along with his fellow actors like Sakshi Tanwar and Ronit Roy have earned enough for at least four generations. He said, 'It is not that television actors make as much as film actors. But if you have a hit show which lasts for 7-8 years and if you are at the top of television or making a lot of money, your per month cheque is equal to your salary for 8 years. People like me, Sakshi and Ronit, if you have been on television for 20 years and are sensible then you have made enough for at least 3-4 generations.' While Ram Kapoor invests his time and money in buying fancy cars and luxury watches, his wife Gautami Kapoor guides him when it comes to fashion. 'I do wear brands and all that but most of it is curated by my wife. She often suggests me new collections and trends.' According to reports, the actor owns a massive house in Mumbai, and also is the owners of lavish properties in Goa and Khandala. Apart from these, the actor also owns a vacation property in Alibaug worth Rs 20 crore.

'Audiences no longer care about mass films, they just want good content', says Dheeren R Rajkumar

Dheeren R Rajkumar is currently in Mysuru, filming Pabbar — what he calls a deeply passionate project — helmed by Shakhahaari-fame director Sandeep Sunkad. The actor says playing a cop has always been on his wishlist—but this role, he insists, isn't just another cliché. 'There's real depth, emotion and integrity here. The cop in this film is realistic; he's not a hero in a masala flick. Today's audience doesn't care about mass dialogues or mass films. They want content. And that is exactly how I think. I'm a huge fan of content-driven stories—Family Man and The Vortex are among my favourites when it comes to layered portrayals of cops,' he says. I felt incredibly privileged when Shivanna maama said he will produce my movie - Dheeren Rajkumar 'I took taekwondo classes, lost 15 kgs for my role' 'It's an adventure crime thriller that demanded certain physical and emotional skill sets. From the moment I heard the one-line narration from the director, I was hooked, and I knew I'd do whatever it takes to get it right. This film feels special because I'm stepping into uniform for the first time. With that comes an organic sense of discipline and dignity. I also trained in taekwondo and shed 15 kgs for the part,' shares Dheeren. My diet was nothing over the top. I stuck to proteins, minimal carbs and went off sugar. Eating home food and portion control are key to losing weight - Dheeren Rajkumar 'Shivanna maama and Geethatthe 's backing means everything to me' Dheeren opens up about how the film found its producer. 'I went to Shivanna maama (Shivarajkumar) with the story, hoping he'd guide us to someone who could produce it. A few days later, he called to tell me he'd like to back the film himself. I felt incredibly privileged—but I also know I have to work doubly hard to prove I'm worthy of the trust Shivanna maama and Geethatthe have placed in me,' he shares. As an actor, I've realised the script must be in keeping with today's trend. My character needs to be etched well, and I will play it to the best of my ability - Dheeren Rajkumar
