Cedar Point set to reopen May 3 with revamped Top Thrill 2
"It's been a long winter, but the entire Cedar Point team is ready to once again welcome guests," Colleen Murphy-Brady, Cedar Point's vice president of park operations, announced Monday. "We can't wait to see them here again!"
TT2 opened last year, but at the time was No. 2 — and beset by problems.
And those eager to ride Siren's Curse, another record-breaking thriller at the park, which was announced last fall with much fanfare and is still under construction, will have to continue to wait a few more weeks.
The park said that Siren's Curse, billed as "North America's tallest, fastest, and longest tilt roller coaster," is set to debut in the summer. Officials did not give a specific date.
More: Cedar Point, much-anticipated new Top Thrill ride, opens Saturday with new rules
Near Sandusky, the vacation destination off Lake Erie is now the second-oldest operating amusement park in America and has long been associated with record-breaking, gravity-defying rides that remind visitors that they are still alive.
Visits to the park have long been a rite of passage, a badge of courage, and a favorite summer camp outing.
Cedar Point announced some minor park upgrades that would be open Saturday, including new eateries — a "star-spudded" Happy Friar fresh-cut fry joint, and a Famous Dave's Restaurant — and a new lineup of live entertainment.
Last year, Cedar Point's owner, Cedar Fair, merged with Six Flags to form one of the nation's largest theme park companies, with dozens of theme parks, water parks, and resort properties throughout North America.
Known as Top Thrill Dragster when it opened in 2003, TT2 was the first roller coaster built to be over 400 feet tall and, at the time, was the tallest roller coaster and fastest coaster in the world.
Both records were broken in 2005 by Kingda Ka in New Jersey.
By 2010, Formula Rossa at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, debuted, breaking the world speed record.
But late last year, however, Kingda Ka permanently closed, leaving TT2 as the tallest coaster again.
That distinction, however, is being threatened again by Falcons Flight, a new roller coaster at Six Flags Qiddiya in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that is expected to become the world's tallest, fastest, and longest thrill ride when it opens later this year.

Marlena asks about Tate and tells them about him rescuing Holly and Arianna Grace followed by the quick adoption. Brady thinks Sophia was right but feels for Tate. Just then, Rachel emerges from the bedroom and she and Brady head over to the DiMera mansion. Belle and Marlena worry about Rachel testifying at Johnny's trial. EJ arrives for Marlena to hypnotize him. He thanks her for the assistance, but she says she isn't doing it for him. EJ agrees they have the same goal of helping Johnny. If it doesn't work, Belle and EJ will fight it out in court. Marlena returns to start hypnosis and catches EJ and Belle kissing. Marlena dismisses her daughter and the two get started. EJ remembers talking to someone and asks why that person gave him something, but he can't see their face. He gets agitated and Marlena brings him out of the hypnotic state. Brady Pub: Abe finishes a call with Theo before sitting down with Paulina. She's overwhelmed by being called to the stand at Johnny's trial. He notes she now believes in Johnny's innocence, which makes her even more nervous about possibly sending him to prison. She also worries about Chanel as a suspect in the same crime. They talk about the video on the memory card and Abe recalls Chanel saying she never said what was on the video (could it be an AI alteration?). Paulina wants to change the topic and asks about Theo. Abe says he's not doing well. Paulina asks what's wrong with Theo and Abe says he and Claire Bear broke up. Paulina thought they were in it for the long haul as did Abe (Could we please see Theo and Claire Bear soon?). Paulina assures her beloved his son will find love. Paulina asks Abe what Johnny's chances are. Abe says the evidence is circumstantial but it's still a crap shoot. The only thing they can be assured of is EJ fighting is hardest to exonerate his son. DiMera Mansion: Gwen arrives with her bags and is annoyed no one is there to help her. Just then, Brady and Rachel walk in. Rachel wonders what Gwen is doing there and she says she is moving in. Rachel heads upstairs leaving Gwen to ask why Rachel is staying with Brady. He explains she's staying with him during the course of the trial. Rachel returns and Gwen exits to the Salem Inn. For some reason, Rachel is dying to get out of the house as soon as possible. Brady asks Rachel what is wrong, and she says she is looking at where Johnny was standing with the gun. He thinks she is very brave for telling her story to Aunt Belle. She worries about having to take the stand as she doesn't want to send Johnny to prison. Chanel and Johnny's Place: Chanel helps Johnny get ready for his day in court. She asks how he is feeling, and he tears up saying he's scared. They review the evidence that will be used against him, but Chanel says all of Salem wanted to plug his father. Johnny worries he's going to be convicted despite there not being proof. Chanel thinks Johnny will be acquitted but knows Belle will come after her next because of the video from the memory card. Horton Square: Belle takes a call from Claire Bear who is upset about breaking up with Theo. She runs into Paulina and Abe and they discuss a bit about the kids' breakup. Courtroom: Belle sits at her table. She calls EJ not sure where he is and wonders if something happened during hypnosis. Days of Our Lives Recap: Gabi and Toni Make a Deal About The Control of DiMera Enterprises Endings EJ arrives in court and updates Belle on the hypnosis. While he was under, he remembered asking someone to hand him the gun. Marlena thinks it's possible his mind is still protecting him from something traumatic. Outside the courtroom, Marlena hugs Johnny and promises to provide her love and support. EJ pops his head out and says it's time for Johnny to enter. The judge arrives and calls the court to order and brings the jury in. Marlena and Abe walk in. As they try to take a seat, Marlena passes out into Abe's arms. Brady and Rachel arrive back at Grandma Marlena's and she is depressed to learn her grandmother isn't around. Rachel is thrilled to learn she and her dad are headed to a movie and runs to her room to put her stuff away. Just then, Belle calls and says their mother collapsed in court. Kim Kardashian Reportedly Left Feeling 'Embarrassed And Bitter' After Tom Brady Rejected Her At A Wedding
Kim Kardashian has reportedly been trying to re-enter the dating world; however, she won't be hard-launching a relationship with Tom Brady anytime soon. According to a new source, Kim Kardashian is reportedly reeling after being rejected by Tom Brady, who was recently spotted with actress Sofia Vergara. Kim Kardashian Reportedly 'Embarrassed And Bitter' After Being Rejected By NFL Legend Tom Brady A source told RadarOnline that Kim, who had been linked to Brady in May 2023 after reportedly searching for a vacation home near Brady's in the Bahamas, has been in a bad headspace after reportedly being overlooked by the Super Bowl champion. Insiders revealed that Kim had hoped to reconnect with Brady at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's recent wedding; however, things didn't go according to plan. The source told the outlet that "Kim wasn't exactly subtle about liking Tom," confirming the pair have "had flirty moments and plenty of run-ins," leading Kim to believe "something might eventually happen." His recent outing with Vergara, though, "stung" her. Kim Kardashian Has Reportedly Had A 'Massive Blow' To Her Self-Esteem After Tom Brady Connected With Someone Else The outlet also noted that the source said being rejected by Brady has "been a massive blow" to Kim's "self-esteem." "Tom checked all her boxes — he's polished, high-profile, and attractive. She really thought he could be the one, so watching him pursue someone else hit a nerve," the source added. Vergara and Brady first sparked romance rumors in July 2025 after the NFL star reportedly requested to be seated next to her on a superyacht. 'Tom went out of his way to sit next to Sofia — the spark was there right away. Things moved quickly between them, and it turned into a fun summer fling. The timing couldn't have worked out better for her," a source told RadarOnline. Source Says Kim Kardashian Is 'Lonely' After Tom Brady Rejection Regarding Kim's dating life, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star has been single since ending her relationship with football player Odell Beckham Jr. The pair were an item for six months, dating from September 2023 to March 2024. According to an insider, "Kim is basically sad and lonely" and "really struggling." "Since Kanye, it's been one disappointment after another," they continued. 'She feels like she gave her best years to someone who didn't appreciate her, and now she's up against younger women—or women like Sofia who are getting the men Kim wants." The source added that the reality star is "quietly hoping Tom and Sofia don't last," considering the pair "becoming serious is way more humiliating for her." 'On the outside, she's putting on a brave face, but inside, it's tough," they concluded. Someone Close To Brady Denied His 'Summer Romance' With Vergara However, a recent report from The Blast stated that despite the chatter regarding his "summer romance" with Vergara, the former quarterback remains a single man. "Tom loves being single and is enjoying his summer before he starts working again, and he is not looking for a relationship," a source said about Brady, later adding that the NFL analyst has "options." "He's not looking to be settled down right now. He wants to just have fun. Flings and hookups are cool, but if anyone thinks they can have more with him right now, good luck!" the source said. Is There A Reason Brady May Not Be Interested In Pursuing Anything Further With Vergara? Beyond that, the source also shared that a relationship with Brady and Vergara wouldn't have worked because the elite athlete found the "Modern Family" actress "stuck in her ways." They also claimed Brady "could only take her in small doses." "Sofia's Colombian heritage is sexy, and hanging out with her and other sexy people on a yacht can be intoxicating, but Tom is not going to bring his work home with him if you catch my drift," the source shared. "If Sofia has any thought that she is going to be in a relationship with Tom, she would be the only one with that thought... nobody should start thinking of celebrity relationship names for them because it is not something that is going to happen."

Cedar Point's new Siren's Curse coaster strands riders again. How often is the ride down?
It happened again. For the second time in less than a week, Cedar Point's new record-breaking roller coaster left riders stranded high above the park's Midway. Siren's Curse abruptly stopped atop its 160-foot-tall tower. Park spokesman Tony Clark said the "delay" on Tuesday, July 22, was the result of the coaster's safety system halting the ride before engaging its signature tilt feature where riders dangle over the Midway while the coaster attaches to the track below. "Its safety system performed as designed, but the ride could not be restarted," Clark said. "Guests were safely escorted off the ride." At least three other incidents have been reported at the coaster, which opened June 28, less than a month before the incidents. While it's not unusual for new attractions to experience hiccups, coaster incidents always attract extra attention. So, how frequently is Siren's Curse down? Here's what to know. Siren's Curse uptime statistics Since its opening, Siren's Curse has been running about 85% of the time during the theme park's operating hours, according to statistics at Ride Forces Database. The roller coaster's longest downtime so far has been on July 16, when it was running for only 60% of Cedar Point's day. Are theme park rides safe? What you should know if you're worried How many times has Siren's Curse gotten stuck? It's happened at least four times, including the night of July 22. The first time it happened was on its opening day, when the Siren's Curse stopped with the tilt coaster in its vertical position, leaving passengers pointing straight down for about 10 minutes. It happened again on July 2, when passengers had to walk down from the 160-foot platform after the ride stopped, leaving them seated (but not tilted) for about an hour. Then on July 19, Siren's Curse got stuck mid-ride, leaving passengers stranded at about a 45-degree angle on the tilt for 20 minutes until the ride was restarted. "The coaster's safety system performed as designed, the ride was restarted, and guests continued their ride," Clark said at the time. "It reopened shortly after and all guests exited the ride safely." What to know about Siren's Curse The newest addition to the Sandusky theme park is billed as the tallest, fastest and longest tilt roller coaster in North America. The name "Siren's Curse" comes from the mythical sirens who reside in Lake Erie and lure sailors with their singing. After riders ascend the 160-foot lift hill, they stop on the edge of a piece of "broken" track. Suddenly, that piece of track tilts 90 degrees, connecting to more track below before sending riders straight down. In all, riders travel 2,966 feet of track at a top speed of 58 mph. The ride features 13 instances of weightlessness (called airtime moments) along with two 360-degree, zero-gravity barrel rolls and a high-speed 'triple-down' element with twisted and overbanked track.
