Google's New Rival? OpenAI Claims ChatGPT Now Receives Over 2 Billion Daily Prompts From Users
AI search tools are gaining traction and it seems Google's search dominance is slowly but surely getting chased down. OpenAI has claimed that its own AI chatbot is receiving over 2 billion prompt requests from its users.
Search is slowly being replaced with these AI-powered tools and it seems OpenAI is making merry with the demand and traction for these features available to millions of users. The company has mentioned that 2.5 billion daily prompt requests are being catered to by its servers, in a disclosure to Axios in this report.
ChatGPT Grows Beyond US
The intriguing aspect of these details is that only over 330 million of these prompt requests are coming from users based in the United States. The 2.5 billion daily prompt queries for ChatGPT is definitely better than the 1 billion prompts the AI chatbot was recording back in December last year.
Even then, Google's Search gets over 15 billion queries daily, which shows the gap that ChatGPT and other AI search models have to make before Google starts sweating on its own ambitions and dominance.
ChatGPT has more avenues to rack up its daily prompt queries in the next few years. OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT agents for its premium subscribers that mimics other AI agents that have been operating in the last few months.
'ChatGPT can now do work for you using its own computer, handling complex tasks from start to finish," which pretty much sums up what an AI agent offers and ChatGPT is taking this avatar for its users.
But unlike other host of AI agents in the market, OpenAI is utilising its higher ability and dataset to deliver a seamless and effective experience.
That's not all, beyond AI agents, OpenAI is also lining up the GPT 5.0 launch sometime in 2025 and that will further increase its reach, feature set and AI applications.

Trump hints at ‘rebates' for Americans from tariff revenue surge. What to know
President Donald Trump said on Friday that his team is looking at giving Americans a rebate because of the money coming in from tariffs placed on other countries. Trump has often used tariffs, taxes on goods the US imports, to pressure other countries over immigration, drugs, and trade issues. These tariffs have made markets go up and down, according to a Newsweek report. Donald Trump has stood by his tariff decisions, saying 'some little pain' now will be 'worth the price that must be paid' in the long run.(REUTERS) Experts have warned that tariffs make everyday goods more expensive for Americans. However, Trump has stood by his decisions, saying, 'some little pain' now will be 'worth the price that must be paid' in the long run. What did Trump say? Speaking outside the White House on Friday, Trump said, 'so much money coming in,' and added, 'we're thinking about a little rebate, but the big thing we want to do is pay down debt.' Also Read: Why did Donald Trump warn tech giants like Google and Microsoft against hiring Indians? The US debt is now over $36 trillion Trump, who was about to leave for Scotland, added, 'But we're thinking about a rebate,' and 'a little rebate for people of a certain income level might be very nice.' He didn't say who would get the rebate or how much it would be. Customs duties brought in over $100 billion for the 2025 fiscal year so far. In June alone, the US made nearly $27 billion in tariffs, according to the Treasury Department. What are others saying? Senator Josh Hawley posted on X, 'I will introduce legislation in the Senate to send a rebate check to every working person in America.' Economist Joseph Brusuelas also posted on X, 'Interesting way to concede that tariffs-trade taxes-are going to be passed along to consumers in the form of higher prices & inflation: Trump floats the possibility of tariff rebate checks.' What's next? Trump is heading to Scotland for five days. He'll visit two of his golf courses and meet with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. His trip comes just before the August 1 deadline for the US and the European Union to strike a trade deal. If no deal is reached, Trump plans to hit EU imports with a 30% tariff.

ChatGPT therapy chats are not private, warns OpenAI CEO Sam Altman
More people are using ChatGPT like a therapist, but that doesn't mean it's private. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says those kinds of chats don't have the same legal protections you get with real therapists, doctors, or lawyers. OpenAI says deleted chats from Free, Plus, and Pro users are wiped within 30 days unless they're legally required to keep them for "legal or security reasons."(AP) Altman told podcaster Theo Von, 'So if you go talk to ChatGPT about your most sensitive stuff and then there's like a lawsuit or whatever, we could be required to produce that, and I think that's very screwed up.' He went on, 'Right now, if you talk to a therapist or a lawyer or a doctor about those problems, there's like legal privilege for it — there's doctor-patient confidentiality, there's legal confidentiality,' according to Business Insider report. 'We haven't figured that out yet for when you talk to ChatGPT.' Altman said there should be the 'same concept of privacy for your conversations with AI that we do with a therapist' and that it should be 'addressed with some urgency.' Also Read: 'Will AI replace lawyers? Law intern asks to use ChatGPT for witness analysis, gets hard copies instead Youngsters turning to ChatGPT for therapy He said a growing number of people — especially younger users — are turning to ChatGPT for therapy, life advice, or help with relationships. Altman said, 'No one had to think about that even a year ago, and now I think it's this huge issue of like, 'How are we gonna treat the laws around this?'' Unlike end-to-end encrypted apps like WhatsApp or Signal, OpenAI can read your conversations with ChatGPT. Employees sometimes look at chats to improve the AI or to watch for misuse. OpenAI says deleted chats from Free, Plus, and Pro users are wiped within 30 days unless they're legally required to keep them for "legal or security reasons." Back in June, The New York Times and other media outlets asked a court to force OpenAI to save all user chats, even deleted ones, as part of a copyright lawsuit. OpenAI is now appealing that court order.

Trump leaves for Scotland to inaugurate a new golf course in Aberdeenshire
Washington, Jul 25 (AP) US President Donald Trump has lifted off for Scotland on Friday. Air Force One left in the morning for a flight expected to take around seven hours. Trump is scheduled to land near Glasgow on Friday evening. He's spending the weekend at his family's golf course near Turnberry, then will meet with British Prime Minister Kier Starmer before heading to another of his courses near Abderdeen. The Trump Organisation is opening a second golf course near Aberdeen next month. Trump is set to return to Washington on Tuesday. Using this week's presidential overseas trip — with its sprawling entourage of advisers, White House and support staffers, Secret Service agents and reporters — to help show off Trump-brand golf destinations demonstrates how the president has become increasingly comfortable intermingling his governing pursuits with promoting his family's business interests.
