Truro City go second after Chippenham Town win
Truro City moved up to second place in National League South after a 3-0 win at mid-table Chippenham Town.
The Tinners, who are now on a four-game winning streak, have lost just once in their last 14 games and are a point behind leaders Worthing having played one extra match.
Truro blew Chippenham away with three goals in a nine-minute period soon after half time.
Top scorer Tyler Harvey gave Truro a 52nd-minute lead when he curled home a free kick from the edge of the box.
He scored his 21st goal of the season two minutes later when he was first to react after Connor Riley-Lowe's shot had been saved by home goalkeeper Josey Casa-Grande.
Luke Jephcott scored his third goal in four games soon after with a superb lob over Casa-Grande.
City face relegation-battling Enfield Town and Salisbury City in their next two matches before travelling to mid-table Chelmsford City on 29 March and then going to leaders Worthing on 5 April.
"I'm really pleased again," Truro manager John Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"I thought we were a little bit sloppy to start off with - could possibly have been 2-0 down if it wasn't for Dan Lavercombe who pulled off a couple of good saves, and some last minute tackles.
"But after the first 20 minute when we got to grips with how they were playing I thought there was only one team in it, especially in the second half."

Truro City sign former Exeter midfielder Kite
Harry Kite has played almost 80 games in Leagues One and Two [Rex Features] Truro City have signed former Exeter City and Yeovil Town midfielder Harry Kite on a free transfer. The 24-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the newly promoted National League side. Kite played 101 games for Exeter, for whom he came up through their academy, before leaving at the end of last season. Advertisement His time at the club was affected by injury - he suffered a serious knee injury in 2022 before missing the first half of last season with a hamstring problem. He returned to action in March after joining Yeovil Town and played seven games in the National League for the Glovers - who will be Truro's nearest rivals this season. "I think it's a great time to come to Truro. I think it's a great place for me to continue playing my football," Kite told the club website. "I felt it was a project that I really wanted to get involved in and I'm really glad to be here. "I know a couple of the boys that are here. I've played with one or two of them before, and played against them as well, so I'm hoping that should make it easy for me to gel and bed in with the group. Advertisement "I'm still quite young in terms of my footballing journey, but I'm hoping that with the strides and what I've done in my career to date, I can possibly pass a little bit of that knowledge across if the players need it." 'I don't think you're wrong to say the runner-up is as memorable or more memorable than the champion'
The Oklahoma City Thunder won the NBA championship Sunday night, with talk of a dynasty already beginning. But in the wake of Game 7 of the NBA Finals, the Indiana Pacers lead the conversation. The "Bill Simmons Podcast" on The Ringer broke down Game 7 after OKC's 103-91 win, spending the first 13 minutes on the team that lost. "I don't think you're wrong to say the runner-up is as memorable or more memorable than the champion," Zach Lowe said. "This was like some sports magic stuff that happened to the Pacers. I'm not talking just about the crazy end-of-game Haliburton shots, buzzer beaters and miracle comebacks." The Pacers had an unlikely comeback win in every round of the playoffs: Lowe said he spoke with another team's general manager Sunday before Game 7. "I asked 'What do you take out of this Pacers run, whether they win or lose?' And he said, 'Hope. We take hope because they are a study in alchemy and adding up to way more than the sum of its parts.'" Haliburton earned third-team All-NBA honors and Pascal Siakam was named to the All-Star Game. Seven players averaged double-figure scoring in the regular season, and eight in the NBA Finals. "Something magical happened to them in the nexus of style of play slash unique superstar, chemistry, toughness, how personalities and games all mesh together," Lowe said. It was magic."

Red Sox Predicted To Acquire Controllable $10 Million Infielder
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Boston Red Sox are in a weird spot this season. They have some talent, but following the shocking Rafael Devers deal, it seems like they're trending toward trying to contend next season rather than this season. With that in mind, the Red Sox could still hit the trade market with the intention of adding a controllable player to fill a hole on their roster. The Athletic's Jim Bowden recently predicted the Red Sox would acquire first baseman Nathaniel Lowe in a shocking trade with the Washington Nationals. Lowe has one more year of arbitration left on his contract. Steinbrenner Field on April 15, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. All players are wearing the number 42 in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. More"The Red Sox have a hole at first base, and Lowe would be a good fit. Last year he slashed .265/.361/.401 with 16 homers and 69 RBIs while playing plus defense at first base," Bowden wrote. "This year with the Nationals, he's hitting just .227 but has 12 doubles, 10 home runs, and 45 RBIs in 75 games. He'd be an upgrade for the Sox, who would control him through 2026. Lowe would be a solid placeholder until prospect James Tibbs III, acquired in the Devers trade, is ready for the majors." Lowe would be a great addition for the Red Sox. Triston Casas seems to be the first baseman of the future in Boston, but he was off to quite a rough start this season. With Casas' injury ending his season, Lowe could be the perfect replacement. Lowe is slashing .227/.294/376 this season. It's by far the worst season of his career, so the Red Sox could buy low and hope he returns to the 120 OPS+ player that he's been during the first six years of his career.
