Greenwood, who assumed the role of MARTA's CEO in January 2022, is widely credited with stabilizing the transit agency's finances. Greenwood's Employment Authorization Document (EAD) expired on June 18, 2025, prompting his decision to take early retirement. MARTA confirmed that he remains legally in the U.S. on a valid Canadian visa while awaiting the "imminent" arrival of his Green Card.
What MARTA said on CEOs resignation
Following the expiration of his permit, Greenwood immediately ceased working. He personally informed all MARTA board members and executive leaders of his situation and formally delegated authority to Rhonda Allen, MARTA's Chief Customer Experience Officer.
In a statement, MARTA acknowledged the challenging circumstances, saying, 'The immigration process is extensive and has had an impact on Mr. Greenwood's personal and professional progress. These challenges have been resolved with Mr. Greenwood's decision, and the MARTA family supports him.'

UCO Bank Q1 Net Rises 10.2% on higher net interest income

Mumbai: UCO Bank reported a 10.16% year-on-year (YoY) rise in standalone net profit at Rs 607 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, driven by higher interest income and a sharp increase in other income, even as expenses and provisions also rose during the period. At the end of the quarter, the bank's deposits grew 11.4% YoY to Rs 2.98 lakh crore while gross advances rose 16.5% to Rs 2.25 lakh crore. 'The profit is because of the increase in interest and non-interest income, coupled with the containment of operating expense increase at 4%,' said Ashwani Kumar, MD & CEO, UCO Bank. Net interest income for the quarter ended June 25 stod at Rs 2403 crore, an increase of 6.61% year on year from Rs 2254 crore in the corresponding period last year. Gross NPAs fell 69 basis points to 2.63%, while net NPAs dropped 33 bps to 0.45%. Provision coverage ratio stood at 96.88%. The credit-deposit ratio was 75.4%, while the capital adequacy ratio was 18.39%, with Tier 1 capital at 16.36%. Business per employee improved to Rs.24.64 crore. The bank was awarded second position in digital payments for FY25 and named second runner-up under the 'top improvers' category in the EASE 7.0 index. As of June 2025, the bank had 3,305 domestic branches, 2 overseas branches (in Hong Kong and Singapore), and a representative office in Iran. NEW DELHI: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed a ban on displaying third-party products and services, including those from promoter groups and subsidiaries, on banks' digital banking platforms. Issuing its draft 'Digital Banking Channels Authorisation Directions, 2025' on Monday, RBI said such displays will only be allowed if specifically permitted by the regulator. Risk-based monitoring mandatory According to the draft norms, banks will be required to implement risk-based transaction monitoring and surveillance mechanisms. They must track customer transaction patterns, flag unusual transactions, and, where necessary, seek prior customer confirmation for outlier transactions in line with their fraud risk management policies. RBI has invited feedback from stakeholders on the draft guidelines until August 11. Digital channels should be network independent The draft also mandates that mobile banking services offered by banks should be accessible across mobile network operators, ensuring network independence for customers. Additionally, banks cannot make digital banking enrollment mandatory for availing other facilities, like debit cards. Applications must be supported by a board resolution and proof of net worth, which must meet the higher of either the minimum regulatory requirement or Rs 50 crore, as on March 31 of the previous financial year. Banks using Core Banking Solutions (CBS) and capable of handling IPv6 internet traffic will be allowed to offer view-only digital banking services. The proposed rules aim to enhance customer protection, improve risk management, and prevent misuse of digital platforms for marketing unrelated third-party products.
