Man Utd ‘in transfer talks to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens, 23, from Belgian side as Andre Onana replacement'

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly in talks to sign young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Antwerp. Manager Ruben Amorim has been eyeing a replacement for Andre Onana even before the Cameroonian stopper suffered an hamstring injury in pre-season. 2 2 Onana has been ruled out of the tour of the USA and potentially the opening stages of the 2025/26 Premier League season - which begins against Arsenal on August 17. And the Red Devils are allegedly in talks with Antwerp about a £17million deal for Lammens, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. United were first linked with Lammens, 23, in January, with scouts reportedly sent to watch him play. Widely considered as one of the best up-and-coming goalkeepers in Europe, Lammens was brilliant as Antwerp's No.1 last term. Lammens ended the season with an eye-catching 173 saves, which works out to 4.3 saves per match and a solid 78 per cent save rate. He made 41 appearances and kept 10 clean sheets in that period and is contracted until 2027. Antwerp have already signed another goalkeeper, Taishi Brandon Nozawa, strongly suggesting that they are preparing for life without Lammens. He even once scored for Club Brugge against Real Madrid in a Uefa Youth League group stage match in the 2019/20 season. A header from a corner, it sealed a 2-2 draw and sent his side into the knockout round play-offs. Man Utd fans fume over ill-timed video and rage 'get a grip' Amorim needs to overhaul his goalkeeping department amidst uncertainty over the futures of Onana and equally sloppy No.2 Altay Bayindir. After the chaos of last season, things were meant to be better from the off for Amorim, but United seemingly struggled to reset their squad in the summer window. But the 40-year-old gaffer's fortunes are set to change after the club finally agreed a £65million deal with Brentford for winger Bryan Mbeumo. Mbeumo, and potentially Lammens, will link up with fellow new signings Matheus Cunha and full-back Diego Leon. United take on local rivals Leeds at the Friends Arena in Sweden on Saturday at 2pm.

One of Dream Team's most underrated midfielders deserves more respect this season

IT'S early days in regards to the 2025/26 Dream Team season but with the world's most compelling fantasy football game now live, it's time to start mulling over options. Throughout the build-up to Gameweek 1, we will publish a series of articles focusing on specific players who, for one reason or another, demand special attention. The subject of our first SCOUT REPORT is a midfielder who was overlooked by far too many managers last season… Youri Tielemans. 3 The Aston Villa midfielder finished ninth in the rankings among players in his position in 2024/25 having racked up 286 points. Despite the fact he spent the majority of the campaign among the best performers in the game, his ownership remained relatively modest throughout and never passed 10%. One reason for this is that Morgan Rogers fulfilled the needs of Dream Team bosses in regards to the Villains' fixtures but there's no doubt Tielemans was underutilised. Not by Unai Emery though, the Belgium international played more minutes than any other outfield player among his team-mates last term. 3 Tielemans scored just five goals but contributed ten assists to the cause. What makes him such a useful asset is his all-round game; he's equally effective with or without the ball. The 28-year-old made 113 tackles in all competitions last season, a tally bettered by just eight midfielders. His completeness was best evidenced by his impressive haul of 51 bonus points - only Ryan Gravenberch earned more among all players. Needless to say, players who offer multiple routes to points should not be underestimated and Tielemans fits that description to a tee. 3 Villa fans will have been disappointed that their side missed out on Champions League qualification but Dream Team managers should be licking their lips at the prospect of Emery's men embarking on a Europa League campaign. Manchester United and Tottenham players provided lorry-loads of points on Thursday nights last season and most would agree Villa have operated at a higher level than those two teams in recent times. The fact Tielemans is virtually a guaranteed starter boosts his viability for the first few Gameweeks of the season, when it can be easy for gaffers to make mistakes in regards to minutes risks. Villa start 2025/26 with a tough test against Newcastle but their opening fixtures appear rather friendly in general - they are due to face two of the promoted clubs (Sunderland and Burnley) within their first seven Premier League outings.

Rangers ace Nicolas Raskin 'wanted' by La Liga giants

Russell Martin faces a fight to keep hold of the Ibrox club's star player this summer, with interest growing in the Belgium international. The 24-year-old has two years remaining on his contract, having arrived in 2023 from Standard Liege for around £1.75m. His transfer valuation has increased exponentially since then, with the Scottish Premiership giants in line to pocket a huge profit in any future sale. While Martin would love to keep Raskin, there is a possibility that he is sold this summer. And Spanish media outlet Mucho Deporte claims that Betis could be the club to test the water. They say that Rasin has impressed manager Manuel Pellegrini as he looks at potential replacements for outgoing midfielders Johnny Cardoso and William Carvalho. Both players played key roles in helping the Seville side to the final of last season's Europa Conference League, where they were defeated by Chelsea. Carvalho - who hasn't actually left the club yet unlike Cardoso - also won the 2016 Euros with Portugal, and the 2018/19 Nations League.
