Alexander Shorokhoff's New 'Bella & Alla' Is Next-Level Timepiece Drip!

Love can be expressed in countless ways: through a delicate flower, the powerful words 'I love you', or sincere acts of affection.
And that is precisely what Alexander Shorokhov has done! In a beautiful gesture of devotion, he dedicated this watch, named 'Bella & Alla', to his wife Alla.
This watch is not just a timepiece but a symbol of his boundless love for her.
With a bouquet of flowers in the form of a watch, lovingly hand-painted with delicate blooms, he presents her with a reminder of their shared love that will forever flourish.
The 'Bella & Alla' is undoubtedly a true masterpiece. The floral pattern was initially stamped and etched into the appropriate shape with utmost precision. This was followed by elaborate hand engravings, bringing each detail of the flowers to life and emphasising their authenticity.
Only after this meticulous process was the dial refined with elegant yellow gold, and then the enamel was applied by hand, giving each petal an unparalleled vibrancy.
The case embodies true craftsmanship and attention to detail. Finished with an elegant black PVD coating, it radiates refined sophistication. One of its standout features is the construction of the lugs: these are meticulously welded to the case back after the central case segment has undergone a highly intricate enamelling process.
Along the sides, three fine recesses are hand-filled with delicate pastel enamel – each colour precisely applied in timed intervals and carefully dried.
This elaborate process creates a vibrant, artistic finish that mirrors the dial's colour palette. To allow for this level of detail, the enamelling must be performed on a case without lugs, ensuring absolute precision and purity in the design.
To perform this fine and precise work, a lug-free case is required. Each colour is carefully applied in different time intervals and then dried, creating a unique and detailed finish.
The hour and minute hands are yellow-gold, matching the elegant dial.
A luxurious alligator leather strap in vibrant fuchsia red, complemented by an engraved solid stainless steel pin buckle, was specially selected for this model to highlight its unique character.
The watch is powered by a high-quality Swiss automatic movement with a hand-engraved and refined rotor, blued screws, and 21 jewels.
It boasts a power reserve of approximately 47 hours and offers a view through the round sapphire crystal case back, unlike other models with the same case, which feature four colourful crystals.
With a strict limitation of only 13 pieces, this model will not be available forever.
However, the love and appreciation that Alexander Shorokhov expresses to his wife through this watch will live on forever.
Alexander Shorokhoff watches are available at Red Army Watches boutiques located at 1Utama Shopping Centre or Pavilion KL & online at www.redarmywatches.com.my.

#SHOWBIZ: Bella Astillah: 'Let there be no more Zaras'

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Bella Astillah has spoken out following the tragic death of 13-year-old Zara Qairina, who reportedly fell from the third floor of her school hostel in Papar, Sabah, amid claims of bullying. Bella, 31, expressed her heartbreak on Instagram, calling for accountability and better protection for students in school hostels. "Zara passed away under unclear circumstances. It's said she was bullied, yet no one has stepped forward to take responsibility. If this happened to our own child, could we stay silent?" she wrote on social media. As a mother and fellow Sabahan, Bella questioned why action only comes after tragedy. "A young girl, far from home, facing pain alone. Why must it come to this before we open our eyes?" She stressed the importance of addressing bullying and mental health seriously. "Don't wait for another Zara. Please, monitor our children and teach them empathy, not cruelty." Vowing to continue advocating for justice, Bella added: "Zara isn't just a name in the news. This can happen to our child too. I'll keep speaking out until justice is done. May Allah place her in the highest level of paradise." Zara, a Form One student, was confirmed dead after receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu recently.

#SHOWBIZ: Bella still keeps first photo taken with Syed Saddiq

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and singer Bella Astillah recently captured the attention of netizens by revealing she still possesses a photograph from her very first encounter with the Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. Bella, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, shared that this memorable photo was taken during a spontaneous meeting, which she described as quite significant to her. "Most interestingly, I still have the picture taken when we first met. At the time, Syed Saddiq simply greeted me and asked how I was doing," she recounted during a recent audio broadcast. "I happened to be holding my phone, so I asked him if we could take a picture. Syed Saddiq agreed and even used his own phone to capture the moment." Intriguingly, Syed Saddiq, 32, who was also part of the recording session, admitted he was excited by the mother-of-two's invitation for a photo. "I didn't save the picture, but I still remember the incident vividly. I was thrilled when Bella uploaded the picture and tagged me on social media. I kept reposting it," he said. Syed Saddiq and Bella have previously been in the spotlight on several occasions. They've appeared together in campaigns for local clothing brands and collaborated on the music video 'Tapi Bukan Denganmu'. These joint ventures sparked the 'BASS' phenomenon among fans, a playful combination of Bella and Syed Saddiq's names. This phenomenon, uniting figures from the worlds of entertainment and politics, has not only garnered attention in Malaysia but has also piqued the interest of entertainment enthusiasts in South Korea. Further fuelling speculation of a special relationship between them, Bella has also been seen accompanying Syed Saddiq at several of his court hearings.

‘Fairytale' Neuschwanstein castle becomes UNESCO heritage site

Perched on a rocky, 200m-high Alpine crag, it is Germany's most visited castle, with almost 1.5m people flocking there every year THE Neuschwanstein castle in Germany's Bavaria, perhaps best known for inspiring Walt Disney's fairytale castles, has been named a World Heritage site, the United Nations (UN) cultural agency announced on July 11. Three other royal residences, also constructed in the late 19th Century under the famously arts-obsessed King Ludwig II of Bavaria, were also added to the coveted list: Herrenchiemsee, Linderhof and Schachen. Neuschwanstein, perched on a rocky, 200m-high Alpine crag, is Germany's most visited castle, with almost 1.5 million people flocking there every year. 'A fairytale comes true for our fairytale castles: We are # WorldHeritage!' Bavaria's governor Markus Soeder wrote on X after the announcement. Neuschwanstein combines an idealised medieval exterior with architectural techniques considered cutting-edge at the time. Its main rooms are adorned with paintings of German and Nordic legends, the same stories that inspired composer Richard Wagner, for whom Ludwig was a generous patron. The 3rd site in the UNESCO listing is the small castle of Linderhof, completed in 1878 Peter Seibert of the Bavarian Castles Administration (BSV) told AFP that the UNESCO listing 'is a very great responsibility, but also recognition…for the work we have done so far in preservation'. Philippe, a 52-year-old visitor from Canada, was surprised that the castle was not already a World Heritage Site. 'We're lucky to still be able to experience this,' he said, calling the listing 'a very good idea'. Herrenchiemsee meanwhile evokes a Versailles in miniature on a lake between Munich and Salzburg, an homage to absolute monarch Louis XIV of France, whom Ludwig admired. Indeed Ludwig nicknamed Herrencheimsee 'Meicost-Ettal', an anagram of Louis XIV's alleged aphorism 'L'Etat, c'est moit' ('I am the state'). Schachen is a royal house in the style of a large Swiss chalet The third site in the UNESCO listing is the small castle of Linderhof, completed in 1878, the only one to have been finished in Ludwig's lifetime. It mixes elements of French Baroque architecture from the reign of Louis XIV with touches of the Rococo style developed in southern Germany. Its park boasts an artificial cave inspired by Wagner's opera Tannhauser, 90 metres long and up to 14m high, which houses a grotto of Venus and was designed as a personal retreat for Ludwig. The electric lighting system used in the cave was state-of-the-art at the time, with glass discs used to illuminate the grotto in different colours. The last of the four sites on the list is Schachen, a royal house in the style of a large Swiss chalet, where Ludwig liked to celebrate the saint's day of his namesake St Louis on Aug 25. It is located at 1,800m above sea level, not far from Neuschwanstein. The four castles have become 'part of Bavarian identity' said Seibert, 'iconic and perfectly embedded in a beautiful landscape'. Ironically, while Ludwig's architectural legacy is today a source of pride in Bavaria — not to mention tourist revenue — they were part of the reason for his own downfall. The ruinous construction costs of the lavish residences led the Bavarian government to depose him, declaring him insane. Interned in Berg Palace, he died shortly afterwards in mysterious circumstances at Lake Starnberg. — AFP This article first appeared in The Malaysian Reserve weekly print edition
