Giorgio Armani and Kith return with second collaboration

Fashion Network14 hours ago
Giorgio Armani and Kith have returned with a second collaboration paying homage to the term "estate", in a melange of Italian elegance and modern New York sophistication.
The term "estate" was chosen by the Italian-New York duo for its double entendre; meaning "property" in English, and "summer" in Italian, embracing aspirational luxury and owning a summer lifestyle.
In an extension of the pair's freshman menswear collaboration, the sophomore collaboration includes womenswear for the first time, with luxury dresses, kimonos, gowns and cover-ups the defining items, alongside graphic tees of Italian and American destinations, as well as a custom sarong and swimwear made with co-branded hardware.
Key pieces for men include a double-breasted blazer crafted from a silk twill weave in a new silhouette, in addition to a silk crossover shirt and monogram pant, a bomber jacket, and a Bermuda short.
The men's line also boasts swimwear, day shorts and a wide range of tees, as well as premium sunglasses, headwear -- from bucket hats to caps --accompanied by bandanas, bags, belts, card holders and ties.
Totes, including canvas and raffia bags with suede and leather, complement suede and leather belts with a co-branded buckle.
And finally, for footwear, some loafers and slides, including an espadrille loafer.
Celebrating the launch, Giorgio Armani and Kith will host activations in Malibu, The Hamptons, Forte Dei Marmi and Porto Cervo, the four location that inspired the collection.
This will include an early release at Kith Malibu on July 4 and at the Giorgio Armani and Kith Hamptons House on July 5 and 6 at the Topping Rose Hotel in Bridgehampton, NY.
The global launch will take place at selected Giorgio Armani boutiques and Kith shops worldwide, from July 10, as well as online.

Jonathan Anderson reinvents JW Anderson as lifestyle brand

There's been a lot of speculation about what would happen to Dior creative supremo Jonathan Anderson's signature JW Anderson brand since he took on the combined women's and men's role at Dior. And now it seems that the brand is being reinvented with a lifestyle retailer focus. Anderson in recent months has become the first Dior creative chief to oversee both the women's (including couture) and men's collections since Christian Dior himself. And that's a big job. While it was possible to continue with JW Anderson as a full fashion offer when he was Loewe creative director, the size and importance of the Dior brand and the huge number of collections it produces mean it was seen as very unlikely that JWA would continue unchanged. The label's Instagram page talks of 'new beginnings July 2025 featuring a preview of what's to come' and there are images of classic fashion items but also lifestyle, home and craft pieces. Another post also shows new packaging. And it seems that one of the most time-consuming focuses for a designer brand — runway shows — are being paused indefinitely. In an interview with American trade paper WWD he said seasonal runway collections won't happen and the London and Milan stores are being closed before reopening in September. Other London stores will also open, along with locations in New York and Paris. There will be a big focus on craft and lifestyle products from other brands (including Wedgwood, Hope Springs and Lucie Gledhill Jewellery). It feels very much like the label transitioning to being a multi-brand and own-brand retailer but a very exclusive and quirky one. Fashion-wise, expect a slow fashion approach with new styles, colours and so on when it feels right rather than because the season has changed. Anderson also said lifestyle guru terence Conran (founder of the Habitat chain) was an inspiration in the revamp.

Aurélien expands in Harrods with full men's and women's footwear offer

Aurélien, the 'quiet' luxury brand, has launched a signature footwear collection at high-end department store Harrods in London. It said the launch 'marks an important milestone in Aurélien's international retail expansion, bringing its refined Mediterranean aesthetic to one of the world's most prestigious department stores'. New to Harrods is the women's footwear collection that 'showcases elegant silhouettes, sophisticated neutral palettes, and the same commitment to exceptional Italian craftsmanship and materials that define the brand'. This includes its Softey Yacht Loafers, Voyager Loafers, and new Cashwool Active Knit sneakers for men. The expansion to its existing presence in Harrods comes after the Dutch fashion brand also opened a pop-up space at the neighbouring flagship Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge in May. It continues in the space until September with its now dual Kighstbrige bases able to fully take advantage both of local shoppers and the huge number of tourists who visit this area of London in the summer. Another pop-up is scheduled to launch at Selfridges in the West End, it also said, neatly covering off London's two key luxury shopping neighbourhoods. The brand offers a full line-up of women's and men's clothing, shoes and accessories, with footwear. All garments and footwear are made in Italy and across Europe, 'combining artisanal tradition with modern functionality'.
