Even though she is a legacy pick, actor Alia Bhatt has left no stone unturned in her quest of becoming one of the biggest stars of Bollywood, with iconic roles in films like Highway (2014), Udta Punjab (2016), and Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). While the actor has now proven herself to all the naysayers and doubters, it seems that she always knew this to be her destiny. Director Mohit Suri, who is also the first cousin of Alia, recently talked about how she was always clear about what she wanted to do and how she possessed a mind for the business even as a child.
While talking to ETimes, Suri recalled several anecdotes from Alia's childhood and how she displayed certain qualities and habits that made it clear that she was born for the camera. He shared how she always wanted to be an actor, ever since she was 6 years old. He recalled that back in 2005, a remix video of one of the songs from his film Zeher had come out, and Mahesh Bhatt couldn't make any sense of it. But Alia had that vision, and she explained to her father how the video worked. 'He ultimately agreed with Alia and admitted that it must be something worthwhile if the younger demographic likes it,' added Suri.

Suri appreciated the clarity of thought Alia had even as a kid, going as far as understanding exactly what would work for an audience and what wouldn't. Talking about dinner parties with the Bhatt family, Suri recalled how Alia was so self-aware of herself that she knew which angle she wanted to be photographed from even as a child and would promptly correct him if he made a mistake. The director added that her natural sense for the business, clarity and talent were all things that convinced the people around her that at some point or the other, she was going to end up in front of the camera.
Coming to Suri's career, he is currently waiting patiently for the release of his upcoming film Saiyarra, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Paada. All eyes will be on Ahaan, who is another legacy, being the nephew of Chunky Panday and cousin of Ananya Panday. The trailer and several songs from the film have already been released.

From Animal To Ramayana, Indira Krishnan Says Playing Ranbir Kapoor's Mom Is "Like A Con By The Universe"

Actor Indira Krishnan says her role in Ramayana as Kaushalya, Lord Ram's mother, was nothing short of a divine intervention. "It was like a con by the universe," she says with a laugh. "I had to claim (the role of) Ranbir's mom somehow and I did." In an exclusive interview with NDTV, the actor opened up on being cast alongside her onscreen son Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, her experience with cutting-edge VFX technology used in the film, and director Nitesh Tiwari's unique style of storytelling. Indira Krishnan recalls how it all started during the last day of shooting for the 2023 film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. In the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie, Indira Krishnan had a brief but memorable appearance as Geetanjali (Rashmika Mandanna)'s mother. Indira Krishnan says, "Ranbir and I were sitting and chatting, and Rashmika said to me, 'Ma'am, it was so lovely shooting with you, I wish you would play my mother again'. I told her, 'Now I want to play Ranbir's mom someday'. Two years later, that's exactly what happened. I was called in for Ramayana." She adds, "When I reached the office, Ranbir came and said, 'You remember what you told me two years ago?' I said, 'You remember that?' And he said, 'Yeah, you wanted to play my mother. See, you became my mother'. It felt surreal." Indira Krishnan also had a front-row seat to the massive technological scale of the film. On set, she came face to face with a special machine that is used for VFX measurements "I remember when I went in for my body measurements, they told me the machine was used for (Christopher Nolan's) Interstellar. It was an 86 camera setup. All 86 cameras flashed on me at once - I was zonked. They told me it's for the VFX, not just costume fittings. I had no idea how younger versions of the characters would be created. The process was meticulous. Even how Kaushalya walks or sits everything was planned. There were no dramatic dialogues, only poise and control." She praised production banner Prime Focus and the VFX team, led by Jaykar, for precision and scale. "It is not easy to gather such a huge cast in one frame and seamlessly execute such heavy VFX," she said. Indira Krishnan, whose credits include TV shows such as Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Afsar Bitiya, and Durga - Atoot Prem Kahani as well as films such as Tere Naam and Holiday, also praised director Nitesh Tiwari, calling him "a man of visuals". "When he narrates a scene, you live the moment right there. What I love most is the freedom he gives his actors. He told me, 'Ma'am, this is my take, now if you want to add something, feel free to do it within the range of your character'. That kind of trust is rare." Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi (Sita), Yash (Ravan), Sunny Deol (Hanuman), and Ravi Dubey (Lakshman). On seeing the star-studded cast for the first time, she thought she was dreaming. "When I reached the office, I saw Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey. My nameplate was on the table. I didn't know if I was daydreaming or if this was really happening."

Dipika Chikhlia on Arun Govil playing Dashrath in Ramayana: Really out of context

Actor Dipika Chikhlia recently reacted to Arun Govil's casting in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. She emphasised on the perception around her 'Ramayan' co-star playing Dashrath in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi-starrer in a recent interview with The Times of India, reflected on Govil's on-screen image as he played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television show. She said, "To see him in a role apart from Ram I don't know."advertisementThe 'Ramayan' actor further said, "I mean, see — I have seen him as Ram and I've seen myself as Sita. For me to see him as Dashrath is really a little out of context. But then I guess that's really his choice. It's very personal as to how people feel. It's very difficult to break images. I mean, if you played Ram, then you are Ram." Chikhlia also highlighted that it would be challenging for her to play any other 'Ramayan' character after portraying Goddess Sita on-screen. "I was never approached. I guess they've not even bothered to speak to me about it. Once I played Sita, I don't think I can play any other character in Ramayan. It's something I'm not sure about," she went on."If I was doing something in 'Mahabharat' or 'Shiv Puran', I could still give it a thought, but not in a 'Ramayana' film," the actor video here: The first glimpse of 'Ramayana' was recently released with the partial revelation of Ranbir's appearance as Rama and Yash as the demon king three-minute, three-second video of 'Ramayana' depicts a mystical era governed by the cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
