Mama June takes first photo in years with daughters Honey Boo Boo, Lauryn Efird, and Jessica Shannon after money drama

Daily Mail02-06-2025
Their explosive family drama has riveted audiences for years, with money recently coming between them.
But it appears Mama June Shannon and her daughters have overcome their latest differences.
Mama, 45, and her daughters Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo, 19, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, 25, and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon, 28, took their first family photo in years as they plugged their latest TLC series, Mama June: Family Crisis, during a Wednesday appearance on Good Day New York.
And by the looks of the smiles on their faces, they definitely appear to be on a much more positive path.
During their joint interview, the women revealed how Mama June is now an active part of their lives ever since getting sober.
From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop.
'We're so proud of her and how far she's come today,' Alana said of her mother.
'It is kind of nice now to have family dinner on Sundays and like the kids are running around and my mom's able to be a part of that,' Pumpkin said.
Alana also said they had things 'figured' out after her mother spent $30k of her money.
'We figured it out and I mean, we're here today, so that tells you something,' she said.
Alana, who rose to fame as a young girl and is now in college, recently said she and her mother were in a 'really good spot.'
'Right now we're at a really good spot... We're probably the best we've been in a while,' Alana said on Tamron Hall Show earlier this month. 'I mean, Pumpkin takes the kid over there for like just for my mama to watch them. That's a shocker for me because I never thought Pumpkin would like just leave her kids alone with my mama. So that is a big improvement for sure!'
She also touched on her mother's sobriety: 'She's been sober for like three or four years now and she's doing great,' she said.
While the famous family are on better terms now, a trailer for Family Crisis - which debuts on We TV on May 30 - shows the brood are still dealing with the aftermath of Mama spending $30k of her daughter Alana's money.
The troubled matriarch, who previously admitted she had spent the money but denied any wrongdoing, was filmed being quizzed about the cash by Honey in a tense scene obtained exclusively by People.
She said: 'Where's my money' leading a grinning Shannon to pull out a huge plastic check for $30,000.
Shannon responds: 'The check is right here' as a distraught Alana says off-camera: 'This isn't a game!'
In April 2024 Mama June admitted she spent $30,000 of daughter Alana's money on 'life expenses' including manicures and household bills - while continuing to shut down criticism for not contributing to her college fund.
Alana was particularly upset by the news regarding her finances, and she stated that she was considering legal action against her mother, who had attempted to talk her way out of the confrontation.
Also affected by the argument was Shannon's husband, Justin Stroud, who stated that he was 'really hurt' by his wife failure to be truthful about her past actions.
Elsewhere in the trailer, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efird, 25, is heard declaring: 'We're getting a f*****g divorce!' as her tearful husband Josh looks on.
She also locks horns with sister Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon over their business.
The trailer takes an even more shocking turn when a legal adviser says: 'The judge really could sentence you to prison' before Alana declares the family are in for a 'hot mess summer!'
Alana previously threatened to cut off her mother after she refused to pay the money she allegedly stole from her.
In a 2024 episode of the family reality show, the teenager and her older sister Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon confronted their mother over the money intended for Alana's college education.
After the matriarch refused to pay her youngest daughter's tuition, which she suggested would be a 'waste' of money, Pumpkin said Mama June was 'not supportive' and 'lost $500,000 to a bag of f***ing crack'.
Their intervention quickly becomes a bitter showdown when Mama June denied the 'betrayal' overall and refused to hand over the money — for which the teenager previously said she will sue and take her mother to court.
This comes after the matriarch told DailyMail.com exclusively that she spent Alana's Dancing With The Stars: Juniors earnings on manicures and paying her own bills.
The family was rocked by the death of Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell at age 29 from cancer in December 2023.
Chickadee passed away after battling adrenal carcinoma that progressed to stage 4.
June took in Chickadee's eldest daughter Kaitlyn, 12, and was awarded full custody of her after a months-long court battle.
June is currently married to Justin Stroud, whom she met in rehab in 2021 after battling an addiction to crack cocaine.
Chickadee left behind her husband Eldridge Toney and two daughters - Kylee, nine, by her ex-husband Michael Cardwell, and Kaitlyn by a previous relationship.
Before she died, Chickadee agreed that her mother would take Kaitlyn in - but this year June had to wage a legal battle over the issue against Michael, who wanted custody of both Kaitlyn and his biological daughter Kylee.
June was determined to retain guardianship of Kaitlyn, saying: 'Anna wanted Kaitlyn to stay with her biological family, and I'm going to fight to my last breath till I don't have any more fight in me to make sure that is how it works.'

Republicans slap AOC with a fresh ethics violation — over whether or not fiance Riley Roberts is her ‘spouse'

Republicans on the House Ethics Committee have reprimanded New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she reportedly said in government filings that her fiancé, Riley Roberts, both is and isn't her 'spouse.' In its July 2025 report, the ethics committee criticized Ocasio-Cortez for listing Roberts as her 'spouse' on federal documents that she filed before attending the 2021 Met Gala. Roberts and Ocasio-Cortez are not yet legally married. 'The Committee also found evidence that Representative Ocasio-Cortez listed Mr. Roberts as her 'spouse' on paperwork filed with the House relating to privately sponsored travel, although the two were not legally married at the time of the gifted travel,' the report states. Similarly, the ethics panel stated that Roberts was listed as a spouse on the documents to attend the gala, but that he wasn't listed as a spouse in Ocasio-Cortez's financial filings, The Daily Mail noted. If he had been listed as a spouse, he would have been forced to disclose stock and other financial holdings. 'The Committee further notes that at the same time Representative Ocasio-Cortez was seeking to take advantage of exceptions to the Gift Rule only applicable to spouses and/or certain relatives, she was not disclosing Mr. Roberts's financial interests as is required of Members who are legally married,' the report adds. Last month, Ocasio-Cortez was ordered to pay back thousands of dollars after the ethics panel determined that she had not been paying market rates in connection with her appearance at the Met Gala in 2021. The panel found that the 35-year-old had underpaid for her dress, which said 'tax the rich' across the back, as well as for jewelry and accessories. In the July 2025 report, the committee states the investigation will be closed after Ocasio-Cortez has paid another $2,700 to vendors for clothing and accessories. The panel said the congresswoman has been cooperating with the investigation. The committee also criticized that Met Gala organizer and Vogue editor Anna Wintour personally invited Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts to the event. Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts met while they were both studying at Boston University and have been engaged since April 2022, The Mail noted. A lawyer for Ocasio-Cortez, David Mitrani, argued in the filings that Roberts is not subject to the financial disclosure rules as he's 'not considered a spouse.' The committee states that Roberts still enjoyed some of the benefits of being a spouse, such as receiving a spouse's congressional pin, which allowed him to access certain restricted parts of the congressional complex. 'Mr. Roberts and the Congresswoman have been together since 2014, and have lived together since 2016,' the committee states. 'Mr. Roberts has had a spouse pin since the Congresswoman entered Congress in 2019.' 'It is clear that the term 'spouse' – as utilized in this former rule and as seemingly accepted by the Committee by expanding 'spouse or dependent' to any guest – was intended to allow a Member of Congress to bring the individual that they've decided to share their lives with to a charity event, regardless of whether they had taken steps to bring the law or religion into their relationship,' it adds.

Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes loses defamation suit over Rachel Maddow claims

Devin Nunes, the former GOP lawmaker who now serves as chief executive for Donald Trump's media company, has lost his defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal over comments MSNBC star Rachel Maddow made about his interaction with a pro-Russian operative. In dismissing the lawsuit, which centered on remarks Maddow made during a March 2021 broadcast, U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel concluded that 'no reasonable jury could find' that Maddow engaged in 'constitutionally-defined actual malice' against Nunes in the segment, which focused on a package he received from Ukrainian businessman Andrii Derkach. When Nunes was still in Congress and served as the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee in 2019, Derkach – who intelligence agencies described as a Russian agent – addressed a package to Nunes. According to Nunes, the package was promptly handed over the the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In July 2020, however, Politico published a piece with the headline 'Democrats: Packets sent to Trump allies are part of foreign plot to damage Biden.' The outlet reported that Nunes 'declined repeated requests for comment' but that 'one person familiar with the matter said the information was not turned over to the FBI.' Eight months later, Maddow and her show's executive producer Cory Gnazzo relied upon that Politico article for a segment that covered an ODNI report and Nunes' conduct with the Derkach package. Furthermore, in a separate appearance on MSNBC the day before the Maddow segment, then-Rep. Sean Maloney (D-NY) remarked about Nunes: 'And the fact is that [the Russians] were so comfortable using people like Devin Nunes that Andrii Derkach, a known Russian asset, sent information to Devin Nunes at the Intelligence Committee. We literally had the package receipt.' Meanwhile, in the Maddow segment, the MSNBC host claimed that Nunes 'has refused to hand it over to the FBI, which is what you should do if you get something from somebody who is sanctioned by the U.S. as a Russian agent.' In the lawsuit, Nunes said that both Maddow and Gnazzo knew that he had handed the package over to the FBI right away, but they both asserted that they were unaware of other reporting that contradicted their segment. Maddow and Gnazzo were not named defendants in the case, as the complaint was instead directed at NBCUniversal, a division of Comcast. MSNBC will soon be spun off from NBCU into a separate company called Versant. Nunes, who left Congress in 2022 and is now the CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group, contended in his complaint that Maddow and the network harbored 'an institutional hostility, hatred, extreme bias, spite and ill-will' towards him. However, Castel said that there was no clear evidence that the 'defendant's admitted political bias caused defendant to act with a reckless disregard of the truth' or that Maddow was aware of 'probable falsity' as it related to a separate Politico article that reported the FBI received the package from Nunes. The Independent has reached out to Nunes and Trump Media. MSNBC declined to comment. Unlike his boss, Nunes hasn't been quite so lucky when it comes to his many defamation lawsuits against media organizations and personalities. Between 2019 and 2021, judges tossed out three other complaints that Nunes filed against CNN, the Washington Post, and two parody social media accounts that mocked him online. Derkach, meanwhile, was sanctioned by the Treasury Department in September 2020 for attempting to interfere on Trump's behalf in that year's presidential election. He was later indicted for sanctions violations by federal prosecutors in 2022.

Britney Spears shows off painful sunburn in a bright pink bikini

Britney Spears spent too much time in the sun and as a result got a nasty sunburn. The singer, 43, who nearly lost her eyebrows several months ago, shared some photos on social media Monday in which her usually fair skin was a bright as her pink string bikini. The Circus singer posed provocatively, pulling down one side of her bottoms, indicating she had been laying out in the nude as there were no tan lines. Her long, blond hair was styled away from her face in messy waves and she wore camera ready makeup with a red lip. The Oops!... I Did It Again singer was barefoot, but wore a thick black choker around her neck. The Billboard Music Award winner shared a cheeky snap of her bottom in a side shot which clearly showed the change in her skin tone. The photos were posted without comment and have since been deleted from her Instagram account. Spears, who has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, allegedly had an outburst after she was prevented from lighting a cigarette on a public charter fright from San Lucas, Mexico to Los Angeles in May. Police bodycam footage obtained by Entertainment Tonight shows the pop diva peacefully deplaning in LA without incident. In the video, a police officer can be heard saying she 'didn't take her meds,' but no further action was taken. In July Spears told her fans in a social media post she had ' adopted a beautiful baby girl' named Lennon London Spears, which turned out to be a joke. An insider told Daily Mail she was simply 'trying to be funny' and garner a reaction. 'Britney was just having fun when she announced that she would be adopting a girl,' our source confirmed. 'She did it for a laugh, she isn't adopting a daughter, and it also doesn't mean anything else like her getting a dog. She was just trying to be funny and see who would bite.' The hitmaker is reportedly working on her relationship with her son Jayden, 18, with whom she has recently reunited. She shares the teen and his brother Sean Preston, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. ''Jayden is her rock right now and if there was ever anything that broke this bond Britney would be crushed,' the insider said. 'He is all she talks about. She is helping his career and providing for him financially. He is living large now.' In the past, Jayden, has admitted to being embarrassed by his mother's social media posts. 'It's like almost as if she has to put something on Instagram to get attention,' he told ITV in 2022. 'This has gone on for years and years and years, and there's a high chance that this is never going to really stop, but I'm hoping for me, maybe she will.'
