"We gave factories to Bihar, but NDA hasn't done anything in last 20 years": RJD's Rabri Devi
Addressing the people on the Rashtriya Janata Dal's foundation day today, Rabri Devi said that they had given factories to Bihar, but the NDA government had not done anything.
'Unemployment in Bihar is not a new issue; the government has not done anything in the last 20 years. We gave factories to Bihar, but these (NDA) people didn't do anything. If they had done work for the development, why are they roaming around now? If they had done work, they wouldn't have needed this,' the RJD leader said.
Earlier today, Tejashwi Yadav congratulated Lalu Prasad Yadav for being elected unopposed as the National President of the party. He said the party has completed 28 years with the support of the people and the hard work of its members.
Speaking at the party's Foundation Day event, Tejashwi said, 'On behalf of all the people of Bihar, I congratulate RJD chief Lalu Ji for being elected unopposed as the National President of our party. The party has completed 28 years and has now entered its 29th year. This milestone has been achieved because of your love, support, and hard work. The party has always stood strong with Lalu Ji, and for that, we are thankful to every worker of our party.'
Yadav said the goal is not just to form a government but to build a better Bihar with progress, unity, and development for all.
'As we head towards the upcoming elections, only raising slogans won't be enough; we need a revolution. This revolution must be visible not just in words but in results. Along with forming a government, we must also build a better Bihar (sarkar ke sath sath, Bihar bhi banana hai). With your strong support, we aim to create a new Bihar, one where there is progress, harmony, and development for all,' Yadav said.
Yadav stated that Bihar requires a government that prioritises education, healthcare, employment, irrigation, and justice.
He said real change is needed, and everyone, including farmers, workers, youth, and people from all communities, must come together to replace the current government.
'We want a government that focuses on education, healthcare, employment, irrigation, and justice. Whether it is labourers, the elderly, farmers, youth, or people from any caste, community, or religion, especially the backward and tribal communities, we must work together to bring real change and remove the current government,' Tejashwi added. PM Modi and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez agreed to work on issues of concern to the Global South, including those in the areas of health, pandemics, and climate change. They appreciated the cooperation between the two countries in the multilateral arena. The meeting between the two leaders comes after their earlier meeting during the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg in 2023, where Cuba was a special invitee. In a post on X, PM Modi stated, 'It was wonderful to meet President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez of Cuba. In our talks, we covered a wide range of subjects. Economic relations between our nations have a lot of potential to grow in the coming times. Equally promising are sectors like technology, healthcare and energy. The growing acceptance of Ayurveda in Cuba is surely a great thing. We even discussed ways to strengthen disaster management apparatus.' The BRICS Summit, hosted by Brazil, brought together leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, as well as new members Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE, and Indonesia during the event. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chairs review meeting on education in Odisha's 4 aspirational districts
Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], July 7 (ANI): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level review meeting on education (school and higher) and other priority sectors in the four aspirational districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri at Koraput. Odisha's Minister of School and Mass Education, Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, senior officials from the district administrations, and Superintendents of Police from the respective districts participated in the meeting on Sunday. The review focused on improving educational infrastructure, ensuring quality education, and accelerating development in these aspirational districts. Further sharing the details of the meeting, Pradhan, in a post on X, said, 'Conducted a comprehensive review of the educational ecosystem in the undivided Koraput region covering the four aspirational districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur in the presence of Odisha Education Ministers Shri @NityanandaBJP and Shri @suryabanshibjp.' 'We had detailed discussions on improving the school and higher education landscape and addressing issues related to GER, drop-outs, expansion and development of school infrastructure, residential facilities, availability and capacity building of teachers among others. PM Modi calls for working together for responsible AI, invites BRICS nations to participate in AI Impact Summit
Rio de Janeiro [Brazi], July 7 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that India views Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a means to enhance human values and capabilities and called for giving equal priority to resolving concerns and encouraging innovation in AI governance, and added that they need to work together for Responsible AI. While addressing the BRICS Summit Outreach Session on 'Strengthening Multilateralism, Economic-Financial Affairs and Artificial Intelligence' on Sunday (local time), he invited BRICS nations to participate in the 'AI Impact Summit' set to be held in India next year. He said, 'In the 21st century, the prosperity and progress of humanity depend on technology, especially Artificial Intelligence. On the one hand, AI is a very effective means of bringing about change in the life of a common man, on the other hand, questions such as risks, ethics, bias are also associated with AI. India's thinking and policy on this subject are clear: We see AI as a medium to enhance human values and capabilities. Working on the mantra of 'AI for All'. Today, India is actively and extensively using AI in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, governance.' 'We believe that resolving concerns and encouraging innovation should both be given equal priority in AI governance. We will have to work together for Responsible AI. Such global standards will have to be created that can verify the authenticity of digital content so that the source of the content can be known, transparency is maintained, and misuse is stopped. The leaders statement on Global Governance of AI being issued in today's meeting is a positive step in this direction. To increase coordination among all countries, next year, we are going to organize 'AI Impact Summit' in India. Today, when the world order is feeling pressure from all sides, the world is going through many challenges and uncertainties; in such a situation, the increasing relevance and influence of BRICS is natural. 'I have some suggestions in this regard: First, our economic cooperation under BRICS is progressing steadily. BRICS Business Council and BRICS Women Business Alliance have played a special role in this. Under the presidency of Brazil, special emphasis has been laid on reform of the International Financial System. We welcome this,' he added. He spoke about the BRICS Agricultural Research Platform, which has been established in India and can serve as a medium for sharing best practices in agri-biotech, precision farming, and climate change adaptation. He said, 'In the form of BRICS New Development Bank, we have given an important and strong option for the development of the countries of the Global South. While approving projects by NDB, it should focus on issues such as the demand-driven principle, long-term financial sustainability, and a healthy credit rating. Improving our own systems will give more credibility to our call for reformed multilateralism.' 'Secondly, today the countries of the Global South have certain expectations and aspirations from BRICS. We can work together to fulfil them. For example, BRICS Agricultural Research Platform has been established in India which can be a medium for sharing best practices in agri-biotech, precision farming and climate change adaptation,' he added. He called for the creation of the BRICS Science and Research Repository and emphasised that its benefits can be extended to the nations of the Global South. He called for making supply chains secure and resilient. 'We have taken the initiative of 'One Nation One Subscription' to make all academic journals in India available in every corner of the country. Such arrangements have been made in some other BRICS countries as well. I suggest that we consider jointly creating a BRICS Science and Research Repository, the benefits of which can also be extended to the countries of the Global South,' he added. 'Third, in addition to greater cooperation in critical minerals and technology, we must focus on making their supply chains secure and resilient. It must also be ensured that no country uses these resources solely for its own interests or as a weapon,' he added.
