Barrie Robran dies aged 77 as media personality niece Jade Robran rushes off FiveAA radio show

Experienced South Australian journalist Jade was live on-air alongside Tom Rehn, filling in for regular FiveAA hosts Will Goodings and David Penberthy, when she received some 'tragic news' just after 7am, local time.
'Jade unfortunately has had to go home, there has been some unexpected and very tragic news — there's been a death in her family, so we wish Jade all the very best,' Rehn revealed.
'Hope you're OK, Jade, if you're driving home listening right now.
'Jade, we love you, we hope you're OK with the rest of the family.
'Hopefully she'll be back tomorrow. That's very very sad news.'
Rehn continued presenting for the rest of the show without his co-host.
Barrie Robran is one of the greatest names in the history of South Australian football.
He won three Magarey Medals (the SANFL's equivalent of the Brownlow), seven North Adelaide best and fairests and two SANFL premierships across 201 games for the Roosters.
Robran is also the ruck rover in North Adelaide's team of the century and was one of the inaugural inductees into the Australian Football Hall of Fame in 1996.
Five years later, he was elevated to Legend status.
He also had a brief coaching stint with North Adelaide, and served as a South Australian state selector for 14 years.
Few names in the history of South Australian football are held in higher esteem than Robran's.

Essendon coy on Lions move on injured big man Sam Draper: ‘News to me'
Essendon coach Brad Scott has played down rumours linking Sam Draper with a move to Brisbane, but concedes there are doubts whether the unrestricted free agent will stay. The Lions are expected to snare both Draper and West Coast co-captain Oscar Allen in what is set to be a bumper free agency period for the defending premiers. Draper is an unrestricted free agent, meaning Essendon have no power in halting a move away. Essendon (6-12) have endured a season from hell, with a raft of injuries forcing them to field a record-equalling 13 debutants this year. Draper is among the walking wounded at the Bombers, with the star ruckman ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his Achilles tendon in round six. The 26-year-old South Australian was also reportedly weighing up a switch to Adelaide, but that appears unlikely after the Crows re-signed ruckman Reilly O'Brien for a further three years. It leaves Brisbane in the box seat to land Draper - not that Scott has heard much about it. 'That's news to me, and I'd like to think that I would know before most,' Scott said on Wednesday. Jordan Ridley was the latest newcomer to that list, with the defender ruled out for four weeks after injuring his hamstring in last week's 93-point loss to the Western Bulldogs. It marks the third time Ridley has been cut down by a hamstring injury this year. 'It's not a true recurrence of the previous injury, but it's another hamstring injury,' Scott said.
