How to keep cool in hot weather
Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are three ways to keep cool according to the NHS...
Keep out of the heat if you can.
If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter.
Cool yourself down.
Have cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes.
Keep your living space cool.
Close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep.
Alongside the bedding the Aldi Cooling Bedding range offers gadgets to keep you cool round the clock.
The new Jet Fan has a portable design and can easily be placed around the house or next to your bed.
At just £3.49 the Aldi Cooling Pillowcases are expected to fly off shelves when they arrive in store on Sunday.
Part of Aldi's Specialbuys the pillowcases will be in store on a one time basis, once they are gone, they are gone.
Aldi described its latest range as: "Sleep solutions designed to help shoppers beat the heat and drift off to dreamland, from cooling bedding to a wake up alarm clock."
It adds: "Those looking to stay cool will need to act fast though, as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone."
