On his social media handle, Soori described Hesham as a rare talent whose music breathes life and emotion into the stories it accompanies.
His post written in Tamil and loosely translated to English reads, "Hesham Abdul Wahab – A musical treasure who breathes life through his music. The first person to speak about Hesham was actor @NameisNani sir. Even after hearing from many, it was his direct words of appreciation that gave me confidence.
Then, director Santhosh brother (from Think Music) also joined the conversation, and in one call, Hesham became part of our journey – it felt like an emotional choice.
"
Though Soori had spoken with several people about the music director, it was Nani's personal praise that truly convinced him of Hesham's exceptional abilities.
Soori shared how director
and Santhosh from Think Music were also involved in the discussions, and Hesham joined the project simply with a phone call.
He praised Hesham's music as being filled with love and affection, attributing it to the blessings of Allah, which he believes inspire the composer's soulful creations.
He added, "Hesham is truly blessed by Allah. His music always flows with love and affection. With that same faith, the journey of 'Maaman' also began. If today this film is being celebrated for touching hearts, Hesham's music is a major reason behind it.

The golden year half a century ago

K Balachander's Apoorva Raagangal (Rare Melodies) is a landmark Tamil film often cited for being the breakthrough lead role for Kamal Haasan, the debut vehicle for Rajinikanth and the bearer of one of the most melodic soundtracks of Indian cinema. What's more, it's a milestone in radically positing that love knows no barriers of age. The film turned the idea of romance on its head with its focus on an unusual, complex relationship dynamic where a young man falls in love with an older woman, while her daughter gets attracted to his father. Its ambiguous open-endedness notwithstanding, Apoorva Raagangal feels liberal not just for its own times. The film completes 50 years this August 15, the day that saw the release of one of the most commercially successful Indian films, Ramesh Sippy's Sholay. While this much mythologised film will expectedly be the cause of many celebrations this year, it would be appropriate to also acknowledge the other cinematic saplings born that year that have grown in relevance since. While 1957 is often called the highpoint in Indian cinema's golden age, 1975 was noteworthy in its own way. If it signalled a turning point in Tamil cinema with the arrival of a new generation of accomplished male stars, to eventually take the baton from Sivaji Ganesan and M G Ramachandran, filmmakers like Balachander and later Bharathiraja made mainstream Tamil cinema soar to new heights in the following years. In Telugu cinema, 1975 marked the continuation of the domination of N T Rama Rao. However, Dasari Narayan Rao's Balipeetam is a significant pick from the year's crop, exploring the still-relevant issue of tensions in an inter-caste marriage between a Dalit boy and a Brahmin girl. In Malayalam cinema, the year was one of the most fecund for actor Prem Nazir, with more than a dozen releases. But more important was the arrival of G Aravindan as a force to reckon with in the parallel cinema movement. Though his debut feature Uttarayanam won the national and Kerala state film awards in 1974, its year of release is often attributed as 1975. Aravindan dealt with the crucial issue of unemployment in the 1970s and how it was driven by conflicting ideologies—varied means geared towards the same end. With experiments with storytelling and form, Aravindan made a strong comment on political opportunism and the corruption seeping into the individual and the system.

Pressured to lose weight, Sridevi fainted on set and lost a tooth. Eventually the movie was never finished

Synopsis Director Pankaj Parashar has revealed that Sridevi's health took a severe hit during the shoot of Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin after filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma allegedly pressured her to lose weight. Sridevi reportedly followed a crash diet, cut out salt, and fainted on set—causing facial injuries and the loss of a tooth. The incident disrupted the film's schedule, which was never completed. Her husband Boney Kapoor and actor Nagarjuna had also previously shared similar concerns about her extreme dieting and health struggles. Sridevi Collapsed on Set After Extreme Diet, Says Chaalbaaz Director Behind the dazzling image of Sridevi's stardom was a harsh reality marked by relentless pressure to maintain a certain appearance. In a recent interview, filmmaker Pankaj Parashar opened up about an incident that severely impacted both the late actor's health and a film project they were working on. Parashar, who directed Sridevi in Chaalbaaz, blamed filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for pressuring her to lose weight during their collaboration on the 1991 Telugu film Kshana Kshanam—a push that, he claims, led to a disturbing health to Friday Talkies, Parashar shared that filming for his project Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin, which starred Sridevi and Akshay Kumar, was progressing smoothly until Sridevi began an extreme diet regimen. He claimed that Varma kept urging her to slim down, prompting her to eliminate salt from her diet entirely. The result was a dramatic drop in her blood pressure. According to Parashar, Sridevi fainted on set, hit her head on a table, remained unconscious for around 20 minutes, and even lost a tooth. Due to facial injuries, she had to step away from the shoot, effectively derailing the film's schedule. The production never recovered. Parashar said that after the incident, a series of unfortunate events followed—the financer exited the project, the producer passed away, and eventually, he had to abandon the later, actor Akshay Kumar also acknowledged the project's abrupt halt during an appearance on Koffee with Karan. He revealed that the film was never completed, and the 2004 release featured only the footage they had managed to shoot. The climax, where characters vowed revenge, was never filmed. Instead, viewers were met with a written message saying the revenge eventually took wasn't an isolated instance. In a conversation with The New Indian, Sridevi's husband and film producer Boney Kapoor revealed that the late actress often subjected herself to starvation diets to maintain her appearance. He stated that she had experienced blackouts multiple times due to low blood pressure, and doctors had warned her repeatedly. Kapoor also shared that actor Nagarjuna once recalled Sridevi fainting in a bathroom while on another crash diet, leading to a similar injury—she broke a tooth after accounts from those close to Sridevi paint a troubling picture of the toll that constant physical scrutiny and professional pressure can take. Despite her grace on screen, the late actor's journey was marked by episodes of physical strain brought on by demands for perfection.
