Denver Museum of Nature & Science lands record $20M makeover
Why it matters: The gift from the Denver-based Sturm Family Foundation is the largest private donation in DMNS history and will revamp the museum's theater, lobby and plaza.
What they're saying: The upgrades will usher in "a new era of possibilities" and "seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces, revolutionizing the way [visitors] engage with the museum and City Park," DMNS said in a statement.
The big picture: DMNS is the latest Denver museum to get a makeover.
In 2021, the Denver Art Museum unveiled a $175 million renovation funded by private donors and city voters, who in 2017 approved the Elevate Denver Bonds to provide millions in upgrades.
What's next: Construction at DMNS will roll out in phases, starting in April.
The first phase will temporarily close the Infinity Theater from April 8 to late July, the museum said, but the rest of the facility will remain open.

He spent more than a decade at CBS, where he was an executive at television and radio stations in San Francisco and Chicago before coming to Los Angeles, where he served as vice president and general manager at KCBS-TV. Bennett then moved over to the Walt Disney Co., where he served as senior vice president of Buena Vista Television Productions. In that role, he developed such shows as 'Live with Regis and Kathie Lee,' 'Siskel & Ebert' and the game show 'Win, Lose or Draw.' NSF Gives Georgia Tech $20 Million To Build AI-Focused Supercomputer
The Georgia Institute of Technology is building a new supercomputer that will advance the nation's ... More capacity to use artificial intelligence. The National Science Foundation has awarded the Georgia Institute of Technology $20 million to lead the construction of a new supercomputer — named Nexus — that will use artificial intelligence to advance scientific breakthroughs. According to the NSF announcement of the award, Nexus will provide 'a critical national resource to the science and engineering research community.' It will function 'both as a standalone platform and as a gateway to effectively utilizing other national resources, significantly accelerating AI-driven scientific discovery.' Nexus is expected to advance American leadership in artificial intelligence, growing the nation's capacity in 'diverse areas of science and engineering, enabling breakthrough discoveries, increasing economic competitiveness, and advancing human health.' 'Georgia Tech is proud to be one of the nation's leading sources of the AI talent and technologies that are powering a revolution in our economy,' said Georgia Tech President Ángel Cabrera, in the university's announcement. 'It's fitting we've been selected to host this new supercomputer, which will support a new wave of AI-centered innovation across the nation. We're grateful to the NSF, and we are excited to get to work.' Nexus will have enormous computing capacity. According to Georgia Tech, it will: 'The Nexus system's novel approach combining support for persistent scientific services with more traditional high-performance computing will enable new science and AI workflows that will accelerate the time to scientific discovery,' said Katie Antypas, NSF's director of the Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure. 'We look forward to adding Nexus to NSF's portfolio of advanced computing capabilities for the research community.' Georgia Tech will construct Nexus in partnership with the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, home to several of the country's top academic supercomputers. The two universities will establish a new high-speed network, creating a national research infrastructure available for use by U.S. researchers, who will be able to apply for NSF support to access the supercomputer. 'Nexus is more than a supercomputer — it's a symbol of what's possible when leading institutions work together to advance science,' said Charles Isbell, chancellor of the University of Illinois and former dean of Georgia Tech's College of Computing. 'I'm proud that my two academic homes have partnered on this project that will move science, and society, forward." Plans call for construction to begin this year, with completion expected by spring 2026. Georgia Tech will manage Nexus, provide support, and reserve up to 10% of its capacity for its own campus research. 'This is a big step for Georgia Tech and for the scientific community,' said Vivek Sarkar, the John P. Imlay Dean of Computing. 'Nexus will help researchers make faster progress on today's toughest problems — and open the door to discoveries we haven't even imagined yet.'

Ferrari Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has been rumored to be dating British pop singer Raye, who worked with him for the 'F1' movie. Raye was spotted in the Ferrari garage during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, supporting Hamilton during his first home race with the Maranello-based team. Hamilton has reportedly dated several popular personalities throughout his F1 career thus far, such as Hips Don't Lie artist Shakira in 2023. Early this year, Hamilton was spotted having lunch with Colombian actress Sofia Vergara in New York, and now, a report by Planet F1 has linked the 40-year-old driver to Raye. Originally named Rachel Keen, the 27-year-old singer performed on stage at Silverstone, earning praise from Hamilton. Raye also composed a track for the 'F1' movie, which was co-produced by the seven-time world champion. Raye was present for the F1 season opener in Melbourne in March, cheering for Hamilton. Speaking to Sky Sports F1's Martin Brundle before the race, she said: Fourth placed qualifier Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Scuderia Ferrari is interviewed during qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Austria at Red Bull Ring on June 28, 2025 in Spielberg, Austria. Fourth placed qualifier Lewis Hamilton of Great Britain and Scuderia Ferrari is interviewed during qualifying ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Austria at Red Bull Ring on June 28, 2025 in Spielberg, Austria."Team Lewis! We couldn't miss this moment. "This is electric. The first black man in red, we're so proud to see it." When asked if she was in touch with Hamilton throughout the race weekend, she said: "Yeah, no. He's had to really get in his zone. "We're just here to support and I'm so grateful I get to be here to witness this moment." Months later, Raye's performance impressed Hamilton after the British GP qualifying session. Speaking to the media, he said: "Raye is the first concert I've been to after a race and she was great. She was the first concert I've been to at Silverstone actually. So it was great to see her, wasn't it? "It's so great that acts can come here now. When I was watching last night I was like it's incredible to perform here the crowd were great." RAYE IN THE FERRARI GARAGE WITH ANTHONY HAMILTON ❤️ — sim (@simsgazette) March 14, 2025 Hamilton's P4 finish at Silverstone was his best result thus far with Ferrari. The last stage of the race saw him battle with Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg for P3, who surprisingly held his ground and secured his first F1 podium. Given the spell of rain and the poor visibility that followed, Hamilton revealed that his Ferrari SF-25 was a tricky machine to drive in those conditions. He said: "[It was a] difficult race, not a great one from my side. I did the best I could. "As it showed there was plenty of mistakes out there and very, very tricky conditions, in really a very, very hard car to drive here – this car doesn't like those conditions. Not ideal, but we got some points at least."
