'Crimson Tide' sequel in Development; Denzel Washington in Talks to Reprise Iconic Role

to reprise his role in the sequel.
The audience was taken in by the submarine action thriller movie.
According to People, there was an argument between two U.S. nuclear missile submarine officers: Executive Officer Lieutenant Commander Ronald "Ron" Hunter (Washington) and Commanding Officer Captain Franklin "Frank" Ramsey (Gene Hackman).
Bruckheimer hinted on The Rich Eisman Show that "we have a really good director and writer talking to the navy right now about what's going on under the water."
Regarding Washington rejoining the franchise, Bruckheimer stated, "If we give him a good script, I think he'd do it," according to People.
As per Variety, the Academy Award winner's involvement in the follow-up is currently script-dependent and the film is still in its early stages of development. The sequel was announced four months after Hackman passed away in February at the age of 95.
The actor was probably alone in the house with his deceased wife for days before his death, which was finally determined to be a combination of severe heart disease, high blood pressure, and advanced Alzheimer's disease.
