Fuziah: No suspension for PKR MPs who called for RCI into judicial appointments
According to Fuziah, party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told Negri Sembilan PKR grassroots today that there's no issue of suspension, as the MPs were merely voicing concerns related to the people.
"He clarified that these MPs have a right to raise such matters. While criticism should ideally be discussed internally first, it is not grounds for suspension," she said after the event here.
Fuziah was speaking after Anwar spent nearly an hour behind closed doors with Negri Sembilan PKR division heads during his Presidential Tour and Party Organisation Strengthening Seminar held at a hotel here.
The meeting, attended by some 1,000 party members, also included PKR vice-presidents Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, Chang Lih Kang and Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, as well as Fuziah, women's wing chief Fadhlina Sidek and youth wing chief Muhammad Kamil Munim.
Fuziah said the tour is part of a nationwide effort to rebuild unity among grassroots leaders, including those who lost in the party's recent internal polls.
"We're not fighting enemies, just having differences among siblings. Unity is key if we want to move forward," she said.
Calls had previously emerged from within PKR for action to be taken against Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and eight other MPs over their criticism of appointments in the judiciary.

MCMC seizes phone from TikTok user over false, offensive PM posts
PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has confiscated a mobile phone and SIM card from a TikTok user over false and offensive content about Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. MCMC, in a statement, said the content was believed to have been uploaded in response to issues related to immoral parties in the country as well as the prime minister's official statement on incentives for the people. "In another post, the individual is also suspected of making false and highly offensive allegations regarding the prime minister's official visit abroad," it added. MCMC said the individual's statement was recorded yesterday at its headquarters in Cyberjaya to assist with investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), which carries a maximum fine of RM500,000, imprisonment of up to two years, or both, upon conviction. The commission reiterated that it will not compromise on any misuse of social media platforms to spread offensive content or unfounded allegations and will continue to take firm action to safeguard public order and national harmony. – BERNAMA

‘Rebuking a friend is harder': Rafizi defends critique of Anwar and judiciary, says true test of leader is in speaking out
KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 — Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has defended his recent criticisms of the government and the judiciary, stressing that holding one's own party accountable is a greater test of leadership than confronting political opponents. Rafizi said he faced discomfort from PKR leaders, including a memo by party secretary-general Fuziah Salleh suggesting that questioning the judiciary implies a loss of confidence in the prime minister — who is also PKR president, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. 'To me, the true test of a leader is not how loudly he confronts his opponents. The real test lies in the consistency and courage to speak out against one's own party and government.' 'Because rebuking a friend is far harder than criticising an enemy,' the former PKR deputy president said on Facebook. Rafizi drew parallels between his time in Cabinet and PAS's participation in the Perikatan Nasional government under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. He cited the decision to increase annual lottery draws from eight to 22 as an example where the Islamist party remained in government despite public backlash. 'Ultimately, ministers are bound by the final decision of the PM or the Cabinet as a whole,' he said. 'Here's the difference between me and PAS: although I was asked to remain in Cabinet, when I felt I was no longer aligned or my views weren't being considered by the prime minister, I resigned.' Rafizi recently resigned as economy minister after losing his PKR deputy president post to Nurul Izzah Anwar. He has since become one of the biggest critics of the Anwar administration, saying he no longer needs to hold back as a backbencher. Last week, Rafizi led several PKR MPs to remind the government that the need to strengthen the judicial appointment process continues, despite the finalised top judicial appointments. They said the recent leadership crisis in the judiciary must not recur, and called for the immediate appointment of judges to fill 31 vacancies to avoid disruptions in judicial administration.

Sec-gen Fuziah: PKR to accept member complaints despite lack of disciplinary board
PETALING JAYA, July 22 — PKR will continue to receive complaints against party members despite its disciplinary board not yet being reconstituted, its secretary-general Fuziah Salleh reportedly said. She said this followed enquiries from members on filing misconduct reports after the recently concluded party elections. 'We are not trying to curb our members from speaking out [against their contemporaries in the party]. They have every right to submit their complaints,' she was quoted saying by Free Malaysia Today. 'There is still room for members to file disciplinary reports on other members.' Fuziah said the party constitution contains a clause allowing the central leadership council to scrutinise and decide on such complaints directly. She added that the council's upcoming meeting on July 27 would serve as a platform to handle any pressing issues. Fuziah also said the party's internal restructuring efforts would not hinder members from seeking redress through existing channels. Last week, PKR Communications Director Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has no intention of taking action against several PKR MPs who have expressed differing views on certain issues. Fahmi said Anwar, who is also prime minister, urged party members and branch leaders to respect those differing opinions and move forward together to strengthen the party. Yesterday, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli defended his recent criticisms of the government and the judiciary, stressing that holding one's own party accountable is a greater test of leadership than confronting political opponents. Rafizi said he faced discomfort from PKR leaders, including a memo by Fuziah suggesting that questioning the judiciary implies a loss of confidence in Anwar. After resigning as economy ministe, Rafizi has since become one of the biggest critics of the Anwar administration, saying he no longer needs to hold back as a backbencher.
