Kannada actor Dheekshith Shetty is steadily making his mark in Tollywood. While his Telugu debut in Mugguru Monagallu marked the start of his journey, it was the 2023 blockbuster Dasara, alongside Nani , that changed the game for him and cemented his place in Telugu cinema. With an exciting lineup of upcoming films — The Girlfriend, The King, Jackie Queen and Bank of Bhagyalakshmi — Dheekshith is now set to broaden his presence on screen. 'Even though I'm from Karnataka, we have Rashmika, also from Karnataka, and Rahul sir from Chennai. Even Upendra sir is doing a film with Ram Pothineni, and Shivaraj Kumar sir is acting in Rajinikanth sir's Coolie. It's great to see such diversity in the industry, showing how inclusive and evolved the cinema world has become. Yes, we compete, but art and cinema are more important than language debates,' he says, signing off. Growing up in Bangalore, there was a strong influence of both Tamil and Telugu cinema. I had Telugu friends who introduced me to films like Jalsa and Happy. That's how I got my first taste of Telugu films.
