Saudi Arabia's film industry has surpassed $26.66m in box office revenue since the start of 2025, underscoring the sector's accelerating growth and the rising popularity of locally produced content. The Saudi Film Commission reported that eight Saudi films have captured 19% of the total box office share this year, a milestone reflecting growing audience confidence in domestic cinema. The top-performing local titles contributing to this surge include Shabab Al-Bomb 2, Hobal, Al-Zarfa, Is'af, Fakhr Al-Suwaidi, Leil Nahar, Saifi and Tashwish. Among these, Al-Zarfa stood out prominently during the week of July 13–19, earning $6.02m in ticket sales, placing it just behind the Hollywood release F1 The Movie, which led the box office with $7.01m. That week saw overall cinema ticket sales in the Kingdom reach $6.93m, with international films such as Superman and Egypt's Ahmed and Ahmed following in third and fourth place, grossing $2.05m and $0.93m, respectively. The growing box office success of Saudi films marks a significant step forward for the Kingdom's cultural and entertainment landscape, reflecting both the increasing quality of local productions and their resonance with audiences at home.
