'Harry Potter' Star, 55, Wants to Be in Upcoming Reboot
While speaking to Entertainment Weekly on May 21, Davis said he has not been asked to film for the upcoming Harry Potter series. He said, however, that he would like to appear in the show if given the chance.
"It would be lovely to return to that magical place," said Davis to the publication.
He also shared that he is a fan of the franchise, created by J.K. Rowling, because of its messaging.
"I loved the Harry Potter stories. The whole concept of what Harry Potter stands for. So to see a whole new retelling of that story can only be a good thing," said Davis during the interview.
In addition, Davis said he has remained close to his Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton, who famously played Harry Potter's (Daniel Radcliffe) rival, Draco Malfoy.
"Tom introduced me to Twitter when we were on the movies and we just kept in touch ever since," said Davis.
He also noted that Felton recently "presented [him] with [his] BAFTA fellowship." The Willow actor described the experience as "really lovely."
"He gave me a lovely speech. So me and Tom are quite close," said Davis to the publication.
Davis discussed his time as a Harry Potter star during a 2016 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
"What an amazing series of films to be involved with," said Davis in the interview.
He also said he enjoyed playing both Griphook and Professor Filius Flitwick in the final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which premiered in 2011. He shared he liked filming Griphook's death scene.
"It's always lovely to have a scene death in a film. Fortunately for me, I was alive as the other character beyond that, so it was kind of a win-win," said the actor.
The upcoming Harry Potter reboot series does not yet have a release date.

Paul Mario Day, the English vocalist best known for his role as the original singer of metal icons Iron Maiden, has passed away at the age of 69. Day's tenure with the early Iron Maiden lineup was short-lived, having been recruited by bassist Steve Harris to join the band in late 1975. The band's initial lineup lasted only for ten months, with Day exiting the group following claims he lacked both energy and charisma. 'We were all nobodys all trying to make the best music we could and fighting for an audience.' Though a live member with no recorded output to his name, Day was replaced by Dennis Wilcock who himself a short-lived member of the group, lasting only until 1978 without appearing on any recorded material. Wilcock was later replaced by Paul Di'Anno, who performed on the band's first two albums before being succeeded by longtime vocalist Bruce Dicksinson. Iron Maiden's self-titled 1980 debut album also contained the track 'Strange World,' which Day later claimed he had co-written without being properly credited. 'Back then we were all pulling for the same side and it still hurts to think the first-ever song I ever composed was on a big-selling album and nobody knows it was me,' he said. In 2019, however, Day asserted the issue of co-authorship was 'finished with,' adding that 'everything's fine as far as that's concerned.' Following his brief stint with Iron Maiden, Day also fronted the groups More and Wildfire, before joining a reformed version of English glam rockers Sweet as their lead vocalist alongside guitarist Andy Scott and drummer Mick Tucker. 'In 1985 Mick Tucker and myself put together the first new line-up of Sweet after the hiatus of the original band,' Scott wrote in a tribute post shared to Facebook. 'We needed a singer and when Paul arrived for the audition we looked no further. 'Our first dates were in Australia, total sell-outs which boded well for the future. Europe followed suit and 3 sold out nights at the Marquee in London produced a live album, video and DVD. Live at the Marquee did well in various charts around the world and Paul's vocal performance has stood the test of time.' Nick Cave Honored With Prestigious French Awards
Australian music veteran Nick Cave has been recognized by the French city of Arles, with two prestigious honors bestowed upon him over the weekend. Cave, who is currently performing a solo tour of Europe, visited Arles on Saturday (July 26) for a headline performance in the city. However, the 67-year-old musician appeared at Arles' Hôtel de Ville on the morning of the show to receive two awards while in town. A prestigious honor, the Order of Arts and Letters is a special award given to those who have been deemed to have 'significantly contributed to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance.' Additionally, the city's Mayor, Patrick de Carolis, was also on hand to present Cave with the City of Arles Medal in recognition of his decades of artistic contributions and his reported 'special ties' to the city. 'You are a citizen of the world and a citizen of Arles,' de Carolis was reported as saying to Cave in his speech. While Cave countered the gravitas of the moment with humor by noting he didn't understand a word of de Carolis' speech given its delivery in French, his own speech included recognition of poets such as Rimbaud and Baudelaire, and the role of French culture within his creative journey. Alongside Cave's own honor, Kenny Gates, the co-founder of [PIAS] – which also serves as Cave's label home – was awarded the City of Arles Medal of Honour. [PIAS] is also a long-time partner of Harmonia Mundi, a globally-recognized classical label located in Arles. Cave isn't the first Australian musician to have received a French honor of this level. In 2009, Tina Arena became the first Australian citizen to receive the Ordre national du Mérite (French Order of Merit), with then-President Nicolas Sarkozy recognizing her contributions to French culture. 'There are not many major movies I want to go and see that are like that — there's a gap and I'm craving to do work like that.' The actress is set to star in the new Hulu thriller, 'Count My Lies,' which she also executive produces. Based on the novel of the same name, the series is about a conniving nanny who uncovers the secrets of a family she works with. The production marks Lohan's first starring role in a TV series.
