Gavin Devlin confirmed as new Louth football boss
Devlin has stepped into the role vacated by Ger Brennan, following the former Dublin footballer's recent departure from the role earlier this month.
Tyrone native Devlin has been installed on a three-year term, having previously spent three seasons in the Louth senior setup as Mickey Harte's assistant from 2021 to 2023.
Peter Dooley - a member of Brennan's backroom team that oversaw the county's first Leinster title win in 68 years - has stepped up to the role of assistant manager/head coach.
Having departed Louth for Derry with Harte ahead of the 2024 campaign, Devlin - Tyrone's All-Ireland-winning centre back in 2003 - returned to Louth this year as underage director of football in 2025.
The Ardboe clubman also coached the Wee County's minor footballers to the Leinster final this term.
'We are delighted to welcome Gavin and Peter into their new leadership roles with the Louth senior footballers,' Louth chairperson Sean McClean said.
'Both men bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for Louth football. Gavin and Peter's deep understanding of our player pathway and talent in the county give us a great combination for the future.

Line of Duty star hails ‘elite' David Clifford as a ‘joy to watch'
Actor Martin Compston was blown away by David Clifford's first-half performance in the All-Ireland final, hailing the Kerry forward's 'elite' showing against Donegal. Line of Duty actor Compston joined a string of celebrities which included comedian Kayleigh Trappe as he featured on the BBC's coverage of this afternoon's All-Ireland final. Clifford was sensational in the first-half, racking up seven points, the last of which was a sensational two-pointer right on the hooter after a long spell of possession from the Kingdom. At the interval, Compston - who played professional soccer before becoming an actor - was asked what might be going through the Donegal players' heads at half-time, to which he responded: "Your man Clifford is a joy to watch, he genuinely is elite level. "There's just some times when you need to get out of your own head. Simple ones Murphy would normally stick away (He missed) and you're thinking like 'it's just not going to be your day.' "But you just need to get that out of your head and keep going." Clifford's score on the stroke of half-time made it a seven point game at the break and put Kerry just 35 minutes away from a first All-Ireland in three years and a 39th in their history.

All-Ireland final TV viewers have same complaint during Kerry v Donegal
Kerry and Donegal clashed in Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final, with over 82,000 people packing into Croke Park for the decider. While David Clifford's magic was a talking point throughout the first-half, the pitch pattern was something else viewers were taking to social media to have their say on. Fans had already vented their frustrations with the design ahead of throw-in and some said it affected their viewing experience of the decider. One wrote: "The lad who's responsibility it was to mow the Croke Park pitch for #allirelandfinal day... What was he thinking with this one lol?" Someone else said: "Whose idea was the design on Croke Park pitch….messing with my mellow man….but Clifford is superb." Another person stated: "That tartan Croke Park pitch wouldn't be for me now at all." One other comment read: "This Croke Park pitch? Down with that sort of thing." Someone else commented: "The cross pattern on the pitch is ridiculous... Who thought that was a good idea." "Embarrassing that they have butchered the pitch for one of Ireland's showpiece sporting events. Shame on the GAA! Almost unwatchable," wrote another.
