I was very lucky – Wales' Ceri Holland feared injury would dash Euro 2025 dream
'I was very, very lucky. I probably felt the worse,' said Holland.
'With the Euros around the corner that's what was on everyone's minds.
'Those next 24 hours after the injury were tough, mentally they were very tough.
'Naturally you do fear the worst, but I was happy to be back with the team.
'I was waiting to see how long that injury would play out, you never know how your body's going to react.
'But as soon as I got back on the pitch I thought I'd be ready and I've just continued to grow my fitness.'
Losing Holland would have been a disaster for Wales ahead of their first major tournament in Switzerland.
The 27-year-old winger has become a pivotal part of Rhian Wilkinson's history-making squad, being Angharad James' deputy on the pitch as well as a regular provider of goals and assists.
Holland has scored seven goals in 43 appearances from her wide berth and her Wales development at international level has been replicated on the club stage in the Women's Super League.

She recently signed a contract extension at Liverpool, for whom she has made over 100 appearances since joining in January 2021.
Holland bounced back from that Denmark injury to prove her fitness and insists Wales will not waste their Euros opportunity, despite being major outsiders in a group where England, France and the Netherlands possess plenty of tournament pedigree.
'I don't think the outside world is expecting much from us, but within we know what we want,' Holland said ahead of Wales' group against the Netherlands in Lucerne on Saturday.
'People can expect a really good footballing team. We showed in Nations League A that we can put performances on.
'We showed our in-possession identity and defensively, aside the Italy game (a 4-1 home defeat), we were really strong and had one of the best defensive records in our group.
'Maybe we needed to have that reality check. Who knows? But we're ready and we owe it to ourselves because we've worked our whole careers for this moment.
'We'll be giving it absolutely everything. To be in the best physical shape and the best mental space on that first day.
'We've got really high expectations in out group and that's what we'll see.'

Portuguese outlet A Bola report that Palace have landed on a €55million (£47m) fee for the Ivorian centre-back. Leah Williamson sends England greatness message aftter Arsenal triumph
Five members of England's Euro 2025 squad played for Arsenal in their Women's Champions League final win, including Lionesses captain and centre-back Leah Williamson Leah Williamson hopes she and her Arsenal team-mates in the England squad can use their Champions League success to set themselves up for Euro 2025 glory. Lionesses captain Williamson was one of five members of Sarina Wiegman's squad involved as Arsenal beat Barcelona in Lisbon in May to be crowned the best club side in Europe. Alessia Russo and on-loan Chloe Kelly both started the 1-0 victory, while Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy came off the bench. The quintet have all travelled to Switzerland, where the Euros holders kick off their title defence against France on July 5, and Williamson was asked how that club success might help spur on the national team. 'I think winning breeds a winning mentality - the consistency of it,' Williamson told UEFA. 'That's what they always say, 'To be great, you don't just win once, you win twice,' and so on and so forth. 'So it's a really good feeling to bank and just have that, and I do think it makes you a lot more hungry than you previously were. So I'm hoping that the experience isn't going to be of detriment to us at all, and another big moment, a big opportunity and we took it, so even proving to yourself, I think it does a lot for your own confidence.' England boss Wiegman has already won the tournament twice - once with the Lionesses in 2022 and once with her home country, the Netherlands, in 2017. She also led both nations to World Cup finals, with England losing to Spain in Australia in 2023, but insisted the hunger for more success is still there. 'Of course, we're defending our title, but as I said, we want to chase more,' Wiegman said. 'This is an opportunity, because if you see our group it's a very exciting, challenging group. 'From the beginning I feel like we play three finals straight away, so that's what we're going to chase for and show how good we are and that we can take our level to the next stage. Aitana Bonmati back with Spain Euros squad after treatment for viral meningitis
Bonmati, who has won the Ballon d'Or for the past two years, was absent for her country's 3-1 friendly win over Japan on Friday as she received treatment at a Madrid hospital. She was discharged on Sunday.
