Reitan wins Soudal playoff for first European title
Norway's Kristoffer Reitan has captured his first European tour title after making a birdie at the second playoff hole to win the Soudal Open at the expense of Ewen Ferguson and Darius van Driel.
Going out early in Sunday's final round at the Rinkven International course in Antwerp, the No. 278-ranked Reitan shot a nine-under 62 to post the clubhouse target at 13 under.
Van Driel, ranked No.331, shot 67 to join Reitan in the lead but the No.186-ranked Ferguson looked like taking his fourth European tour title as he went down the last with a one-stroke lead.
However, his par putt lipped out to push him into a three-way playoff, which took place on the 18th.
The trio all made par the first time but Reitan rolled in a birdie putt from 15 feet for the win after Ferguson and Van Driel had again made par.
Australia's Jason Scrivener signed off with a 71 to finish three under, 10 shots adrift of the leaders.

Messi's Miami out of Club World Cup, Bayern power on
Harry Kane has scored twice as Bayern Munich tamed Flamengo 4-2 in a tense affair in Miami to set up a much-anticipated all-European quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain at the FIFA Club World Cup. Backed by a raucous crowd, Flamengo played with aggression but Bayern converted all their shots on target and reaped the rewards of a fast start. The German Bundesliga champions struck in the sixth minute when Erick Pulgar deflected a corner kick into his own net. Three minutes later, England striker Kane doubled the advantage with a low shot that went in off the post. Shortly after the cooling break, the Brazilian side pulled one back as Gerson fired a missile that went in off the underside of the bar, triggering a deafening roar from the crowd. Bayern, however, restored their two-goal lead before the interval when Leon Goretzka whipped a shot from outside the box past keeper Agustin Rossi. Filipe Luis's side pulled one back again 10 minutes into the second half, Jorginho sending Manuel Neuer the wrong way after they were awarded a penalty for a Michael Olise handball. The momentum had swung but Bayern held firm before finding the back of the net once more through Kane, who beat Rossi with another clinical low shot in the 73rd minute. "It was tough. We were playing against a really good side in difficult conditions, it was really hot," Kane said. "I thought we played well for large spells but every time we got away they clawed their way back and made it difficult. The fourth goal was important to ease the nerves and from there we managed it well." Earlier on Sunday in Atlanta, European Champions League winners PSG sent a brutal reminder of their firepower when they cruised past Inter Miami 4-0, taking their foot off the pedal after the break in what could have turned into a humiliation for Lionel Messi's MLS team. Joao Neves netted twice before Tomas Aviles turned Desire Doue's cross into his own net and Achraf Hakimi added the fourth, all prior to halftime. "It was an almost perfect match, we created a lot of chances, and I'm happy yet I think we still need to improve, that's football," PSG coach Luis Enrique said. Paulinho ensures Palmeiras triumph in Brazilian battle
Palmeiras have edged out Brazilian rivals Botafogo 1-0 with an extra-time winner from Paulinho to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. There was little to chose between the two South American sides as the opening tie of the knockout stage proved a cagey affair at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. At the end of the first half, Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios forced Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor into a flying save from his rising drive. Chelsea-bound Palmeiras forward Estevao saw a goal ruled out for offside five minutes into the second half, before Victor tipped over a glancing header from Mauricio. After neither side could find a breakthrough in normal time, Botafogo goalkeeper Victor produced another fine stop at full stretch to palm away Rios' 20-yard strike. Palmeiras made the decisive breakthrough in the 10th minute of extra-time when substitute Paulinho cut into the penalty area from the right and clipped a low shot into the far corner. Botafogo, who finished second in Group B, having recorded a shock 1-0 win over European champions Paris St Germain, carved out an opening early in the second period of extra-time when Igor Jesus headed over and Vitinho then crashed a volley wide at the far post. Palmeiras were reduced to 10 men with four minutes remaining when captain Gustavo Gomez was shown a second yellow card following an off-the-ball tussle with Botafogo defender Alexander Barboza. Palmeiras defender Bruno Fuchs almost put the ball into his own net in stoppage time when trying to shield it back to goalkeeper Weverton from a corner as the Verdao held out to secure their spot in the last eight.
