The 2027 recruiting class isn't the sole focus for Texas A&M this summer, but making headway with priority prospects in the cycle is crucial to developing strong relationships heading into next summer, when the cycle reaches its peak importance. So far, coach Mike Elko and his staff have done just that, recently hosting several elite 2027 prospects, including borderline five-star offensive tackle Ismael Camara.
During this week's Next Future 50 event, Camara, similar to 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, Camara's recent visit to Texas A&M during the program's annual OL/DL camp resulted in building bonds with several of the Aggies' coaches, especially offensive line coach Adam Cushing.
Cushing's success on the recruiting trail has been praised nationally after landing three of the top offensive tackles in the 2026 class over the last two weeks, so it's no surprise that he's already made headway with Camara, who had plenty of good things to say during his recent interview with GigEm247's Andrew Hattersley.
"I got to talk with Coach Cushing," Camara stated. "That was amazing. I learned a lot of stuff. I'm looking forward to being back here maybe once or twice this summer. I love it."
Last week, during the Next Future 50 media availability, Camara continued to praise Texas A&M, noting that the Aggies have made a significant impact on his recruitment, as Cushing's coaching tactics and the program's O-line recruiting success in the 2025 and 2026 classes have certainly played a part.
According to 247Sports, Camara is currently positioned as the 95th-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 10th-ranked offensive tackle, and the 15th-ranked prospect in Texas.

Former Michigan State golfer James Piot finishes at T73 in Rocket Classic shooting -7

Former Michigan State golfer and 2021 US Amateur champion James Piot played in his hometown's PGA Tour event at the Rocket Classic in Detroit, going to the Detroit Golf Club and making history by competing in the PGA Tour following a stint in LIV. For Piot, a Canton (MI) native, he made his first career cut on the PGA Tour, getting in on the six-under number. After an even par third round, Piot came out on Sunday and fired a 71 (-1) round, making him a clean seven-under for the tournament, which notches him a finish at T73 for the tournament. The T73 finish on the leaderboard comes with a $19,000 payout in earnings, the first payout for Piot on the PGA Tour. With the complications between his transition from LIV back to the PGA, it is unclear when he will be given the opportunity to make another start on the PGA Tour. Is Caitlin Clark playing tomorrow for Fever vs Minnesota Lynx?

Before their Tuesday night matchup against the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final from Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn., the Indiana Fever updated the injury status of star Caitlin Clark in their league-mandated injury report Monday afternoon. Clark, who has missed the previous two games with a left groin injury, struggled mightily on the offensive end of her game during Indiana's three-game West Coast trip. While it is unknown whether the injury was a partial cause of the difficulties, Clark scored just 30 points on 13-for-47 shooting from the field and 1-for-17 from 3-point range during the road trip. Per the Fever's injury report, Clark is listed as questionable for the game against the league-leading Lynx with the previously mentioned left groin injury. In addition to Clark, forward Damiris Dantas is listed as out and will not be present at the game due to her involvement with the Brazilian National Team in the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Chile. If Clark can return to the floor for the Fever, her presence will be a significant boost to the team's offensive firepower as Indiana hopes to keep pace with Minnesota's 85.3 points per game average. Tomorrow's game will start at 7 p.m. CT and be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
