This Fairer Share scheme has been run by the building society in previous years.
And this year the payments will go into effect on Wednesday, June 18 - meaning today is the day those eligible are set to get the free money.
Nationwide confirmed the payments would be made through Friday, July 4.
While around four million Nationwide customers will benefit from the scheme, not everyone is eligible.
To qualify, customers will need to have opened a current account with Nationwide on or before March 31, 2025.
They must also have at least £100 in savings, or have owed £100 or more on a mortgage by that same March deadline.
Customers also need to have used their account between January 1 and March 31 this year.
A total of about £410 million is estimated to be paid out.
And if you missed out on this year's deadline, you may be eligable for the free cash next year as the building society has run the Fairer Share scheme three years in a row.
However, there is no guarantee Nationwide will run the scheme again.
Popular bank with over 400 spots confirms it is shutting 18 branches in August – it follows 148 closures by rivals
In 2024, Nationwide paid out £385 million to 3.85 million people as part of the scheme.
The bank also recently offered exclusive access to a top savings account rate for its customers.
What other banking perks can you get?
Existing customers with Nationwide can also get a free £200 bonus if they switch a non-Nationwide current account into a new or existing FlexDirect account.
You'll also get 5% interest on current account balances up to £1,500 for a year.
Meanwhile Santander is giving out £180 free cash to those who switch to its Edge account.
Plus there's a linked savings account that pays 6% interest on up to £4,000 for the first year.
Where to find the best savings rates
Many savings accounts offer miserly rates meaning that money is generating little or no return.
However, there are ways to get your cash working hard. Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to make sure you money is getting the best interest rate.
Easy access savings accounts offer flexibility for customers, meaning they can dip in and out of cash when needed. However, the caveat is that rates can change at any time.
If you're keeping your money in an easy access account, you'll need to keep checking whether it's the best paying account for your circumstances and move if not.
Check in at least once a month to see what is happening in the market.
Check what is offered by your bank - sometimes the best rates are for customers only.
But do search the wider market as often top savings accounts are offered by lesser known providers.
Comparison sites are a good place to check for the top rates. Try Moneyfactscompare.co.uk or Moneysupermarket.
You can search by different account type. You'll usually get a better interest rate if you can lock your money away for a fixed amount of time, but it's always a good idea to keep some money in an easy access account in case of emergencies.
Don't overlook regular savings accounts often pay some of the best rates, but you'll need to commit to monthly payments. This can be a great way to get into a savings habit while earning top rates at the same time.
First Direct is giving away £175 to people who switch to its 1st Account.
You just need to open an account and set up at least two direct debits or standing orders within 45 days.
You will also need to pay in £1,000 and make five debit card payments within the same timeframe.
TSB is handing out £100 cash but £15 a month in cashback for six months to those who switch to its Spend and Save account.
Plus, you can get either £120 credit towards a hotel booking via Expedia's Travel Credits website or 12 months of activity tickets with the National Activities Network.

Saudi Arabia's non-oil sector growth quickens in June on strong demand, PMI shows

ABU DHABI, July 3(Reuters) - The expansion in Saudi Arabia's non-oil private sector activity accelerated in June, driven by robust client demand and a surge in hiring, a survey showed on Thursday. The seasonally adjusted Riyad Bank Saudi Arabia Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to a three-month high of 57.2 from May's 55.8, putting it further above the 50-point line denoting growth. New order growth quickened to a four-month high, with the subindex rising to 64.3 in June from 62.5 in May. Domestic sales were the primary driver of this upturn, supported by successful client acquisitions and enhanced marketing strategies. However, export sales growth remained marginal. "Firms largely linked the pickup in activity to improving sales, new project starts, and better demand conditions, although the pace of output growth was softer compared to previous highs," said Naif Al-Ghaith, chief economist at Riyad Bank. Non-oil private companies hired staff at the fastest rate since May 2011, as firms expanded teams to manage increased workloads. Input prices also rose sharply, aligning with the second-quarter trend, leading firms to pass on higher costs to customers. Output prices increased solidly, the strongest rise in a year-and-a-half, following reductions in previous months. Despite cost pressures, Saudi non-oil firms remained optimistic about future activity, the survey showed, with the Future Output Index reaching a two-year high. Confidence was buoyed by resilient domestic economic conditions and robust demand. Last month, the International Monetary Fund raised its 2025 GDP growth forecast for Saudi Arabia to 3.5% from 3%, partly on the back of demand for government-led projects, and supported by the OPEC+ group's plan to phase out oil production cuts. Hundreds of staff ended up out of a job after the chain made heavy cash losses last year. The footwear specialists reported a £39.2m pre-tax loss, with sales down from £994.5m in 2023 to £901.3m over the latest tax year. This comes after Clarks fell to a pre-tax loss of £39.8m in the 12 months prior. Clarks currently has 17 stores in shopping centres and on high streets north of the border. Bosses at the footwear chain said they were adopting a "cost-focused attitude" to recover from the cash losses. They said their 'focus is to return to sustainable sales growth combined with a cost-focused attitude to delivery healthy store profitability in 2025'. Clarks added: 'Significant changes have been made to the operations in the year to right size the overhead cost for the current business size, refocus the marketing approach, reposition the product assortment and set up the business for recovery and sustainable profitable growth in 2025." The last time the shoe store reported a pre-tax profit was in 2022. They posted a total of £35.9m for the 48 weeks to the end of that year. Costa Coffee Shuts Whitstable Branch: What Shop Closures Mean for UK High Streets Last year, the chain also closed down some of their stores. Clarks are not the only big name to be feeling the squeeze. Many retailers have seen their bills increase, adding financial pressures. And footfall has plummeted as punters are hammered by the cost of living crisis. Just last month, River Island announced they were closing down a number of their Scottish stores. The Original Factory Shop also broke the news in June some of their stores will be disappearing from the high street. It comes as we told how Scotland's retailers have been hit by a devastating wave of closures as brands are blasted by the "perfect storm". Our research shows major brands have pulled the shutters down on at least 25 Scots outlets this year — leaving scores of empty units across our towns and cities.
