The pact follows in the wake of AMC directly distributing Taylor Swift's concert pic The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.
The Eminem-produced doc (trailer, below) opened the inaugural London edition of the SXSW festival earlier this year, and is inspired by the artist's 2000 iconic song 'Stan,' about an obsessive, unstable fan who takes his admiration for the rapper too far.
In London, director Steven Leckart described how he flipped the music documentary format on its head. Stans film follows not just the musician's artistic trajectory but that of his most loyal superfans, with the doc 'offering an entertaining and vibrant look at the modern nature of fandom and how social media has irrevocably changed the relationship between artists and their audience.' (The term 'Stan' was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017).
Leckart said after the premiere during a Q&A: 'I was raised on hip-hop in the '80s and '90s, and I grew up on MTV. So I witnessed [Eminem's] rise's first hand and I was a fan, but I think I just kept coming back to the song 'Stan' and really thinking about how unconventional it was and still is.'
He continued: 'I just saw an opportunity to make an unconventional doc … We've seen a glut of docs that are just so straightforward and standard. And so this is a beautiful opportunity to do something different.'
Other producers include Paul Rosenberg, Stuart Parr, Antoine Fuqua, Tony DiSanto, David Schiff with DIGA Studios in association with Shady Films, Fuqua Films, Interscope Films, and MTV Entertainment Studios. Bruce Gillmer, Amanda Culkowski and Michael Maniaci are Executive Producers for MTV Entertainment Studios.
Stans will be available on Paramount+ internationally later this year. Stans: The Official Soundtrack, which will feature previously unreleased tracks, is already available for pre-order.

Nancy Meyers shades 'The Holiday 'series in the works at Apple TV+: 'News to me'

"Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first post I saw," the filmmaker said of the project's points The Holiday is receiving a limited series at Apple TV+. Nancy Meyers, the writer/director behind the original 2006 movie, shaded the announcement of the project on Instagram. Meyers previously shot down rumors that a sequel to the movie was in the works with Cameron Diaz and Kate Holiday is getting a TV series — but Nancy Meyers doesn't sound too happy about it. The filmmaker, who wrote and directed the 2006 Christmas rom-com of the same name, reacted to the announcement that Apple TV+ is adapting her movie into a limited series. "News to me," Meyers wrote in an Instagram Story atop a screenshot of a Hollywood Reporter post about the TV show. "Imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram and this was the first post I saw. 🤔" The Holiday limited series on Apple TV+ will be written and executive produced by Krissie Ducker (Sweetpea) and will see input from Rob Delaney (Catastrophe) as a consultant, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Deadline first reported the news, noting that Meyers has no involvement in the project, and that well-known actresses are being considered for the lead roles. Meyers' The Holiday starred Cameron Diaz as a workaholic movie trailer editor in Los Angeles and Kate Winslet as a London journalist pining after her ex-slash-coworker. The two women spontaneously decide to do a house swap and each fall in love with a local across the pond. Diaz is paired up with Jude Law, who played Winslet's character's brother, while Winslet couples with Jack Black, a charismatic musician. The original Holiday grossed over $200 million at the global box office, making it Meyers' fourth-biggest hit as a director (behind What Women Want, Something's Gotta Give, and It's Complicated). The Holiday has maintained a sizable following since its original release, as its Christmastime setting has inspired consistent wintertime rewatches among rom-com fans. However, despite the film's continued popularity, Meyers confirmed that she has no plans to revisit the movie in 2022. The filmmaker shot down rumors that Diaz and Winslet had boarded a sequel in an Instagram post. "So many DM's about this. Sorry but it's not true," Meyers wrote in a caption of a Daily Mail screenshot claiming that the original cast would return for a sequel. The director also recently revealed that she didn't expect the film to become a Christmas classic. "I never thought it would be, you know, a movie that you watched during the holidays.... Didn't think of it that way," she told the Hollywood Gold podcast. "I just really wanted to tell the story about these people. I set it at Christmas because that can be lonely. As I noted to myself last night while I was watching, they're all damaged."Meyers has not directed a film since 2015's The Intern. She attempted to helm a new project, tentatively titled Paris Paramount, for Netflix, but the project stalled after disagreements on the budget. Scarlett Johansson, Owen Wilson, Penélope Cruz, and Michael Fassbender were all reportedly in talks to star in the film. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Pubisher and Spider-Man Set to Clash in Reported Major Action Scene For SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY — GeekTyrant

The web-slinger is about to go head-to-head with Marvel's most brutal vigilante. With production kicking off on Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, Scotland, new intel teases a major confrontation between Spider-Man and The Punisher . According to insider Daniel Richtman, fans can expect a high-stakes brawl involving a Department of Damage Control (DODC) convoy. "I heard that tomorrow they'll be filming a big action scene with Punisher and Spider-Man fighting over a DODC transport convoy," Richtman revealed. If Frank Castle is gunning for someone in that transport, it's likely someone he sees as deserving his lethal brand of justice. Naturally, Peter Parker won't let that happen on his watch. This DODC connection ties neatly into what we've seen in previous MCU Spider-Man films, where the organization has played a significant role in cleanup and containment. The presence of their convoy implies whatever or whoever they're transporting is a big deal. So who's in the crosshairs? Rumors range from Bruce Banner to Mister Negative, or even a smaller-time threat like Boomerang. Recent set photos show a military-style vehicle that might be DODC property. Some fans have pointed out a devilish logo on the side, which could hint at Mister Negative's Inner Demons making an appearance. Word is The Punisher will be behind the wheel of one of these armored rides. As filming kicks off, early reports suggest rehearsals are happening ahead of a full shoot on Sunday. So while we haven't seen Tom Holland in costume just yet, it's only a matter of time before Spidey swings into action. We did get a tease of the costume, though! And while bringing The Punisher into Spider-Man's world is a big and exciting move, don't hold your breath for Charlie Cox's Daredevil to join the mix just yet. That team-up might be off the table for now. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters July 31, 2026.

Man Utd club shop bans supporters from printing names of legendary trio on back of shirts due to key licensing issue

Fans cannot print name of three legends on their shirt United do not own player trademarks Sign at club shop informs confused fans Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? Reported by Manchester Evening News, the three players in question are legendary No. 7s Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Eric Cantona. United do not own the trademark to any of the trio of former players' names, which means they are not licensed to print them on the back of shirts. THE BIGGER PICTURE The report states that this has been the case for several years and not just at United, as Real Madrid do not have the rights to print the legendary Ronaldo's name either, despite his status as one of the club's greatest-ever players. With this in mind, the recent craze around retro football shirts makes sense as it gives fans the chance to sport the names of their favourite players from the past on their backs, on shirts which were printed at a time when the player in question was at the club. In the case of Ronaldo, Beckham and Cantona, these shirts must be very rare to find indeed. WHAT FANS HAVE SAID United fans expressed their confusion at the licensing rule on social media. One fan said on X: "That's really weird." "Modern football just gets weirder," another added. A third said: "What if I call my son Beckham and he wants his own name on his shirt?" Another stated: "How can you copyright a name lol I'm pretty sure there's more people with those names." WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD? The Red Devils face Everton and Fiorentina in their final pair of pre-season fixtures before Mikel Arteta's Arsenal visit Old Trafford on August 17. Ruben Amorim's side will be looking for a major improvement on their unprecedented struggles last campaign and may look to complete further transfer business before the campaign gets underway.
