Isaac Hayes III Advises Content Creators To ‘Consider Yourself A Television Network'

As digital stars like Kai Cenat, Khaby Lame, Druski, and Jackie Aina earn big in the streaming world, they're being urged to brand and operate like modern-day TV networks because that's exactly what they are, according to Isaac Hayes III. As the founder of Fanbase, the content creator hub that helps creators monetize their creations, Hayes is offering sound advice to growing and aspiring content creators of today. With creators making millions a year in brand deals, endorsements, and viewership, long gone are the days when the youth sat in their rooms watching television for hours on end. Now, kids are catching their content online from a smartphone, video game, or computer, making them the MTVs and BETs of today. 'Consider yourself a television network, consider yourself the same way that Kai Cenat considers himself as he's a network, but the big separator between what he does and these other legacy media platforms is he's doing it inside a community infrastructure like Twitch,' Hayes said on the July 1 episode of the Black Tech Green Money podcast. Through his Fanbase platform, Hayes is making content monetization more accessible to everyday users looking to speed up the process of becoming profitable creators. 'It takes the average content creator six months to earn their first dollar on other social media platforms,' Hayes explained. 'We have people earning a dollar in minutes on Fanbase the day they sign up. And it's not by even subscriptions; it's from people actually tipping them for their content for something that you say in an audio room or a comment that you leave on a post or something that you say in a dm.' The platform is growing fast, with Hayes revealing that Fanbase is close to reaching $13 million in its latest funding round, bringing its total equity crowdfunding to $27 million, a milestone he says marks a first for a Black tech founder. 'We've made history, and I want to continue to make history. I want to continue to be disruptive,' Hayes declared. RELATED CONTENT: There's A Rise of Six Figure Faceless Creators

JPMorgan Holds Neutral on Netflix, Citing Balanced Risk/Reward Despite Strong Growth Potential

Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) ranks among the best FAANG stocks to buy according to hedge funds. On June 13, JPMorgan reaffirmed its $1,220 price target and Neutral rating for Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX). The firm clarified that the reason for its previous May 19 downgrade to Neutral was not concerns about Netflix's dominant position in the streaming market, but rather that 'the risk/reward in NFLX shares has become more balanced' after considerable stock price growth. Photo by Thibault Penin on Unsplash Investors have consistently resisted JPMorgan in three areas since the May downgrade: the expectation that the second half content slate might be 'the strongest 6-month period ever,' the beginning stages of advertising with potential for stronger monetization, and forecasts that estimates will rise in response to pricing power, advertising growth, and content strength. That said, despite its growth potential, JPMorgan upheld its assessment that Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX)'s shares are 'well owned and the risk/reward is less compelling,' weighing the company's solid fundamentals against its current valuation measures. Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is a well-known global streaming platform that provides limitless access to a vast collection of films, TV series, and video games on devices with internet connections. While we acknowledge the potential of NFLX as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. NASA's next frontier is Netflix

NASA has sent astronaturs to the moon, flown through hurricanes, fetched asteroid debris, and launched a program to clean up space trash. Its next mission? Streaming on Netflix. On June 30, NASA announced that live programming from its in-home streaming service, NASA+, will be available on Netflix via a new partnership starting this summer. The move marks the most recent play in a years-long effort on NASA's part to build out its media presence by switching from traditional cable to streaming. For Netflix, the news comes as the world's largest video streaming service has continued to solidify its global dominance: In April, Netflix reported first quarter earnings of $2.9 billion, a 24% year-over-year increase. The streamer's stock is currently up nearly 45% since the beginning of 2025. For NASA, the news comes as the agency is being hit by serious budget and job cuts by the Trump administration, as well as uncertainty over its new leader. What is NASA+? NASA+ was founded in 2023 as an ad-free, no cost streaming service, available online and via NASA's app, featuring live mission coverage and original shows which offer viewers a glimpse at the behind-the-scenes efforts of scientists and engineers. The streaming service is a modern evolution of NASA TV, a traditional cable channel that began in the early '80s and continued through August 2024. NASA TV shows included a weekly segment called This Week @ NASA, a kid's program called Education File, and a historical program called NASA Gallery. In the wake of the 2010s cord cutting era and the rise of streaming (as of this June, more Americans are watching streaming platforms than both broadcast and cable combined for the first time ever), NASA decided to shift its digital focus to NASA+. Less than a year after the streaming service's founding, it already gained four times more viewership than NASA TV, per a press release. Cheryl Warner, news chief at NASA, says the NASA+ app has now been downloaded more than 40 million times. Now, it seems, NASA is looking to give viewership numbers a boost. What will NASA+ be streaming on Netflix? According to an official statement from NASA, the content set to air on Netflix will include 'rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, and breathtaking live views of Earth from the International Space Station.' Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+, added that 'The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience'—a goal that's much more achievable for NASA through Netflix's global audience of 700 million than via its own platforms. This February, NASA astronauts also began streaming on Twitch live from space for the first time ever. 'We are excited to include broader streaming opportunities as part of our NASA coverage,' Warner says. 'We are intentionally meeting our audiences through the platforms and services they use. Our coverage with Netflix is focused on live programming at this time, and there were no funds exchanged through our agreement.'
