Community Update: Green Bay Police Department, Golden House promote ‘Be Safe' campaign
Heim says the 'Be Safe' campaign was originally created years ago as an effort to promote local community resources for those experiencing domestic violence.

She adds that anyone who calls the 'Be Safe' number will be rerouted directly to the domestic violence shelter Golden House and can access all of its services.
Chief Davis says the Green Bay Police Department got involved with the campaign around right when it started and initially helped promote the campaign with bumper stickers on all of the department's patrol cars.
We got involved really because domestic violence is a huge problem in our community. It's something aqll of our officers come into contact with on average more than once per day.

With the 2025 NFL Draft quickly approaching, Heim says they are doing something unique with the campaign to attempt to use it differently.
Instead of being for just domestic violence victims, Heim says they are using the 'Be Safe' to collaborate with all victim service providers to help support those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking leading up to and during the Draft.
We now want to use this as a platform to support the hundreds of thousands of victims or potential victims that might be coming to our area that need resources but might not necessarily know about which agency does what things.

Heim adds that this is a great way to use an already up-and-running campaign to help promote available resources.

The biggest message from this campaign, as Chief Davis mentions, is that if someone finds themselves in a situation that needs help, there is help and there are a lot of ways to get to that help.

According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office, crews got a 911 call around 10:15 p.m. on Friday, July 18, reporting a fire in a garage at a home in the 3500 block of Granite Road in Sheboygan. 21-year-old motorcyclist flown to hospital after Sheboygan County crash into back of truck
HOLLAND, Wis. (WFRV) – A 21-year-old motorcyclist from Sheboygan County was flown to a hospital with 'serious' injuries after crashing into the back of a stopped truck. Around 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, authorities with the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office say they were notified of a two-vehicle crash on County Road D, west of Six Mile Road. According to the deputy's preliminary investigation, a westbound pickup truck was stopped in the roadway for a road hazard when a westbound motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck. Cause of fully engulfed garage fire in Sheboygan under investigation The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man from Cedar Grove, suffered serious injuries and was flown to a hospital for treatment.
