Two-day festival to celebrate pagan festival Litha at Durham farm
Dalton Moor Farm, a County Durham wellness centre, will host the event from June 20 to June 22.
In ancient times, the festival – now known as Midsummer or the summer solstice – was held throughout the Northern Hemisphere to mark the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year.
Dalton Moor Farm will be opening its meadows, woodland, and orchard to visitors for the event.
The festival will kick off on the Saturday, with a focus on wellbeing.
Visitors can participate in yoga, reiki, and explore the properties of essential oils.
There will also be guided meditations, chanting, breathing exercises, forest bathing, tree hugging, and drumming for wellbeing.
Live music and poetry will continue into the evening.
Sunday will be dedicated to family fun with circus, dance, drumming, a forest school, and an adventure trail.
Craft workshops, craft traders, and a variety of healthy food and drinks will be available throughout the weekend.
Dr Jenny Connor has spent the past decade transforming Dalton Moor Farm into a leading centre of sustainable farming and food production.
She said: "As far back as Anglo Saxon times and probably earlier, people understood the importance of working in harmony with the land and the cycles of the seasons, and that is the ethos of everything we do here at Dalton Moor Farm.
"I hope as many people as possible will join us for a celebration of this seasonal milestone as we acknowledge and show our gratitude for life on Earth and the precious gifts each season brings us."
Tickets for the event are priced at £190 for a family weekend ticket and £75 for individual adults.
Tickets for Saturday only are £120 for a family and £50 for individual adults.
Sunday tickets are £99 for a family and £40 for adults.
Children's tickets are £10 each day.
Car parking is also available at a charge of £15 per day.

King Charles Is "Fuming" Over Prince William and Kate Middleton Moving Houses Again
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Kate Middleton and Prince William might be ditching Adelaide Cottage for an even fancier spot on the Windsor Estate named Fort Belvedere, and apparently King Charles isn't thrilled. According to Rob Shutter's #shutterscoop (via Yahoo!), King Charles is "fuming" over the cost of William and Kate's proposed move. As a palace source put it, "It'll take millions to renovate. Charles sees it as an unnecessary extravagance." However, William and Kate are said to be enthused about the move, with an insider explaining "They've outgrown Adelaide Cottage. Fort Belvedere has it all — history, land, and proximity to Eton." Wills and Kate have moved quite a few times over the years. They kicked things off at Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace—right in the heart of London—before relocating to their country home, Anmer Hall. Then they left Anmer Hall for Adelaide Cottage in 2022, so this new move is coming not even three years later. As for Fort Belvedere, the Daily Mail describes it as a "a magnificent gothic-revival mansion nestled in a hidden corner of Windsor Great Park." Their source notes that Wills and Kate "feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis." FYI, the 18th century mini castle is where Edward VIII lived before he abdicated the throne, and has a slew of amenities—including, but not limited to, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a rose garden, a greenhouse, private stables, some casual lakes, paddocks, and multiple staff cottages. Queen Elizabeth's grandson is engaged four years after divorce
The royal debuted his new fiancée in a magazine photo shoot. Peter Phillips, the eldest grandson of the late Queen Elizabeth II, is officially engaged. The 47-year-old, who is the son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, confirmed his engagement to Harriet Sperling, a pediatric nurse and freelance writer, on Friday. A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement shared with CNN that 'both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement.' The spokesperson added that King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Princess Kate have all been informed — but no wedding date has been set yet. Phillips and Sperling announced their engagement with a magazine-style reveal, posing together in a field for a photo shoot in Hello!, with Sperling's ring clearly on display. The couple have reportedly been dating since at least May 2024, when they were spotted at the Badminton Horse Trials with Phillips' daughters and Queen Camilla. Sperling, whose late father was Rupert Sanders, works for the U.K.'s National Health Service and has written publicly about her experience with postpartum depression. Phillips was previously married to Canadian-born Autumn Kelly, with whom he shares two daughters, Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13. The couple divorced amicably in 2021 and share custody of their children.
