Metal Band Guitarist, 51, Lashes Out At Former Bandmates
Metal fans are well aware of Mastodon, who have taken the genre by storm since their formation in 2000. The Grammy-winning band is currently touring with Coheed & Cambria, but without one of their founding members: Brent Hinds.
The band announced the guitarist's departure in a statement on Instagram back in March. "After 25 monumental years together, Mastodon and Brent Hinds have mutually decided to part ways," the statement read.
Since then, Hinds had kept pretty mum on the topic. But he recently posted some choice words about his ex-bandmates on Instagram—and in their own comment section, no less!

Mastodon posted a photo of the cover for their album Once More 'Round the Sun in honor of its 11th anniversary. Fans in the comments paid their respects to the album. "'Halloween' is definitely my #1 track on this record," one wrote, "definitely gonna miss B. Hinds though."
Perhaps Hinds has a Google alert set for his name, because without even being tagged in the comment, he found it and responded. "I want [sic] miss being in a shit band with horrible humans," he wrote. Ouch!
The fan ignored the dig and wrote back to Hinds, expressing his admiration. "Love the way you shred and write dude," he wrote. "Looking forward to whatever you got cookin."
Hinds does indeed appear to have something cooking. He has another band called Fiend Without a Face, in which he plays guitar and does lead vocals. They have a few European shows scheduled this summer, including one in Sweden in late June and one in Portugal in July. Despite only recently leaving Mastodon, Hinds has been active with his side-project for a while, releasing the band's only album back in 2017. Now that he has more time on his hands, perhaps we'll see another album soon.

The individual was subsequently taken away on a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance, which left the scene just after noon PT. Video footage from the event taken by EW shows a growing crowd surrounding the convention center entrance, with the ambulance parked out front. As a result, entrance to the convention center was briefly paused on Saturday in order to allow emergency services to pull up to the front of the building and aid the individual. Attendees were allowed to enter the convention shortly after the ambulance departed. The incident comes just one day after a confusing fire alarm announcement rang out near Hall H and Ballroom 20, despite no alarm actually being heard. Security notified attendees during a Dexter: Resurrection panel to 'remain calm' and await further instructions. "I'm not calm," moderator Jamie Chung said, to which star Michael C. Hall replied, "Thank God Dexter's with us." AI is used for lots of purposes these days — and if he could, Matthew Lawrence would "love" to use it to resurrect his Mrs. Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams.
