Enquiry after primary pupil takes knife into school
It is claimed the Year Six pupil at Bridge Learning Campus in Hartcliffe, Bristol, confronted other children after lessons on Friday.
No one was injured in the incident, with a spokesperson for the school telling the BBC "immediate action" was taken "in line with our established safeguarding procedures".
They added that cases like this were "incredibly rare" and would be treated with the "utmost seriousness", with parents encouraged to contact the school directly with any concerns.

Emergency worker assaulted in city centre disorder
Four people have been arrested after an emergency worker was assaulted in a city centre brawl. Officers were called to what they described as a "large altercation" in Low Ousegate, York, at 19:45 BST on Saturday. North Yorkshire Police said the arrests were made for "various offences" including affray and assault of an emergency worker. A police spokesperson said three of the four people had since been bailed with conditions which prevented them from entering York city centre. Supt Ed Haywood-Noble said: "We are committed to tackling all types of unacceptable and criminal behaviour in our city centre at night. "The vast majority of people are using the city's bars without issue or incident and those who are intent on committing crime in York are not welcome." Trial date fixed after fire that killed family
Three men accused of murdering a mother and her three children in a house fire in Bradford will stand trial later this year. Bryonie Gawith, 29, and her children, Denisty, nine, Oscar, five, and Aubree Birtle, 22 months, all died in the fire on Westbury Road on 21 August last year. Sharaz Ali, 40, Mohammed Shabir, 45, and Calum Sunderland, 26, have been charged with their murders and with the attempted murder of Ms Gawith's sister and Mr Ali's ex-partner, Antonia Gawith. Mr Justice Nicholas Hilliard set a trial date of 17 November at Bradford Crown Court after Mr Ali, who was the last of the accused to enter a plea, denied the charges against him. Mr Shabir, of Carlby Grove, Keighley, and Mr Sunderland, of Langbar Avenue, Keighley, have also denied the charges. All three men have pleaded not guilty to a further charge of Section 18 wounding with intent against Ms Gawith. Mr Ali, of Langbar Avenue, Bradford, was seriously injured in the incident. Doctors had been unsure if he would survive, but he was transferred from hospital to prison in April after making a "marked recovery" and appeared in court via video link earlier. His barrister, Mohammed Mawaz, said his client may appear via video link for some parts of the trial due to his health, but this would need to approval of Mr Justice Hilliard. Driver who crashed car was not wearing glasses
A driver has been reported to the DVLA after failing to wear his glasses and crashing his car. Essex Police said the motorist, who it described as elderly, was stopped in Colchester on Wednesday after his Vauxhall car clipped a kerb and a bollard. An eyesight test conducted at the roadside revealed that instead of being able to see 20m ahead (66ft), he could only see two metres (seven feet). His car was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act and police said he was referred to the DVLA. Essex Police said: "Your eyes are your best driving tool, regular check-ups help keep you, and everyone else, safe on the road.
