Netizens Criticise 'Entitled Behaviour'
Past Incident Adds Fuel to the Fire
Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has found herself at the centre of criticism following a viral video from an International Yoga Day event held in Mumbai on June 21, 2025. The clip, which has circulated widely on social media, shows the actress asking female, who seemingly were volunteers, to untie her shoes—an action that did not sit well with the public. In the footage, Bharuccha, dressed in coordinated white athletic wear and subtle makeup, is seen preparing to join others on yoga mats. However, instead of removing her shoes herself, she is seen relying on two volunteers—one kneeling to undo her laces, while another supports her by the shoulder. The video quickly caught the attention of online users, who accused the actress of being inconsiderate and disrespectful during a wellness-focused event. As the video continued to gain traction, social media users expressed strong disapproval. Many pointed out the irony of attending a yoga session—an activity that promotes flexibility and self-awareness—while expecting others to perform a simple task like removing footwear.Commenters questioned her inability to bend and remove her shoes, with remarks like 'She came to do yoga but can't take off her own shoes?' and 'If you're fit enough for yoga, you're fit enough to untie your own laces.' Several users also accused the actress of having developed an attitude problem, with some stating that 'money and fame have gone to her head.'Despite the backlash, Bharuccha has not yet issued any public statement clarifying the incident. Some online voices suggested that there might have been valid reasons behind her actions, such as discomfort due to footwear or difficulty in bending, but the majority opinion leaned toward criticism. This isn't the first time Bharuccha has faced online trolling. Months earlier, a video from a fashion event showed her pushing aside a young woman while walking the ramp to take the centre position. The move was also met with online disapproval. Bharuccha later explained that the woman wasn't a model but a student designer unfamiliar with ramp etiquette, and she had been instructed to take the front spot. She emphasized that she was simply following directions amid loud music and confusion.Adding to the controversy, another video from the same Yoga Day event shows Bharuccha surrounded by a large group of fans seeking selfies. Appearing overwhelmed, she is seen calling out for her team and looking visibly distressed. This clip drew mixed reactions, with some expressing sympathy and others mocking her discomfort in a public setting.

Nushrratt Bharuccha on if she would have 'done better job' than Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2

Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has responded to a question about whether she would have "done a better job" in Dream Girl 2 instead of Ananya Panday and whether the film would have been "better" then. Speaking with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Nushrratt added that she wouldn't "have an answer" to it. Nushrratt Bharuccha starred in Dream Girl, while Ananya Panday was part of Dream Girl 2. Nushrratt Bharuccha says whether Dream Girl 2 would be better if she was part of it Nushrratt said that there are a lot of films she wishes she could have done. 'You can ask me this question about any film not just the one I was replaced from and I'll not have an answer. Till I actually do it, till I actually do the an actor do I ever think, 'Isne yeh film kiya main isse better karsakti hoon (She has done this film, I can do better)?' I would never say it, even if it's not my own film. I look up to a lot of actors' work and a lot of films I wish I could have done. But that is the greed in me to want to do that part. Would I ever say, 'Main isse better kar sakti hoon (I can do better than her)?' (Shakes her head),' she said. Nushrratt talks about actor's version and director's vision She added that even the thought would make her feel she is doing 'grave injustice'. 'Mere DNA mein nahi hai, hai hi nahi (It's not there in my DNA). I don't know how to bring that thought into my mind and body. I feel like even thinking it, I'd do a grave injustice to the fact that I have chosen to be an actor and be in this profession. Acting is a very personal thing. Every actor brings something absolutely different on screen. You can't say, 'isse better hoga ya worse hoga (it'll be better or worse)'. Woh uska version hai,woh director ka vision hai. Usko woh chahiye woh hai (That's her version, director's vision. He wants it),' she concluded. 'Replaced After 3 Years': Nushrratt Bharuccha On Being Dropped From Film Without Reason

Nushrratt Bharuccha, known for her roles in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Chhorii, may have delivered box office hits, but her journey in Bollywood has been anything but smooth. Despite starring in a Rs 100 crore film, she continues to grapple with the struggle for recognition in an industry often skewed against outsiders. In a recent interview, the actress opened up about the harsh realities of showbiz, including being replaced from a film after three years of commitment, with no explanation and no fault of her own. (News18 Hindi) Bharuccha has spoken openly on several occasions about the discrimination faced by outsiders in the industry. In a recent interview with Youtuber Nayandeep Rakshit, she recalled an incident where she was replaced from a film at the last minute, after being on board for three years. (News18 Hindi) The 40-year-old actress revealed that she wasn't replaced by a star kid, but by an actress who had recently gained popularity. Bharuccha said she felt cheated, especially because she had signed the film when there was no hero, director, or producer attached. 'My situation was a bit different. I was locked. I had signed that film for three years, but it didn't start during that time. Eventually, everything came together. I still have the signed contract lying at home,' she said, choosing not to reveal the film's name. (News18 Hindi) 'Suddenly, the film was on the fast track, they had a good hero, a good director, and everything was set. Then I got a call saying, 'We don't want to do this with you anymore'. I was shocked. I had supported the film when no one else was on board,' she shared. (News18 Hindi) 5/8 Bharuccha added that while she wasn't replaced by a star kid, the actress who replaced her had simply become a 'popular face' at the time. 'I stood by the subject and the film for three years and still got replaced,' she said. (News18 Hindi) She also spoke about gender discrimination in the industry. She mentioned how male actors get a string of hit offers after just one successful film, while actresses don't enjoy the same trajectory. (News18 Hindi)
