Saawariya Music Composer Monty Sharma On Arijit Singh's Massive Fee: "He Charges Rs 2 Crore Per Performance"
Arijit Singh has the entire nation swooning to his soulful music. Recently, music composer Monty Sharma, who has worked as a background music composer in Black and Ram-Leela, and as the music director for Sawaariya, revealed the massive amount that Arijit Singh gets paid per performance at every show.

Monty Sharma spoke at length about the changing trends in the music industry. He also shed light on the fees that Arijit Singh takes home after every performance.
The music composer told Lallantop, "When Arijit used to come and sit with me, he used to sit for 6 hours straight. Now, he charges Rs 2 crore for a performance, for a show. So if someone wants to do a show, they do give Rs 2 crore. Earlier, people used to hear songs on the Radio or on television; now, people have them on YouTube. So now the exposure has increased. With the emergence of OTT and YouTube, the money is humongous. So if I am doing a song for 15-20 lakhs, 90% of the rights audio company takes it. They are the ones making mad money right now."
Elaborating on how he has witnessed the evolving music industry, Monty Sharma added, "Everything has evolved over a period of time. Earlier, we used to make a complete song for Rs 2 lakh. This included an entire orchestra, which included 40 violins and a lot of other things. Eventually, when I created a brand name for myself after a couple of my works did well, I started to charge Rs 35,000 per song, irrespective of the other expenses included to make a song."
Arijit Singh's Latest Projects
As for Arijit Singh's latest work, he had sung Dhun from Mohit Suri's latest blockbuster, Saiyaara.
In Metro In Dino, he has lent his vocals to the songs Zamaana Lage, Mausam, and Qayde Se. Aavan Javan from War 2, which has dropped today, has also been sung by him and stars Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani.

Nitin agrees to accept the bribe and delete the accident footage which can prove Angad innocent after his wife emotionally blackmails him. Tulsi is seen sitting in the temple of her house, worried about Angad, at Nitin's house, Vrinda wakes up early morning to finish her assignment. She notices the television playing a news report about Angad being arrested for a drink-and-drive incident. While looking for her own pen drive, she stumbles upon Nitin's by accident. She watches the accident footage and realises that Angad is innocent, she decides to speak to her brother in the morning. Next morning at Shanti Niketan, the news of Angad's arrest starts affecting Mihir's business and investors starts cancelling their contracts and their share market prices also starts declining. Gayatri expresses concern over how the situation is getting out of hand. When Mihir decides to arrange bail for Angad, Tulsi strongly objects. Despite her disapproval, Mihir insists and prepares to sign the bail documents. Just then, Hemant steps in and urges Mihir not to act against Tulsi's wishes. It's a busy weekend at the theatres with four movies competing against each other at the moment. While 'Saiyaara' has been ruling at the box office ever since the movie released, this Friday, which is August 1 saw the release of two anticipated sequels - 'Son Of Sardaar 2' and 'Dhadak 2' which stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. But amidst these three movies, now 'Mahavtar Narsimha' came out of nowhere last week and has now seen incredible growth due to positive word of mouth. On its second Saturday, which is August 2, the movie collected much more than what it made even on first Saturday. So much so, that it is dominating over 'Saiyaara' and even the other two new releases. Mahavtar Narsimha dominates over other releases on Saturday As per early estimates from Sacnilk at Saturday night, 'Mahavtar Narsimha' has collected Rs 15 crore at the box office on its day 9 which is second Saturday. This is huge. It had made only Rs 4.6 crore on its first Saturday. The total collection of the film so far in all languages, is Rs 67.95 crore. It has performed the best in Hindi language. Meanwhile, as per the same website, 'Son Of Sardaar 2' has made Rs 7.50 crore as per early estimates. 'Dhadak 2' made Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday. Meanwhile, 'Saiyaara' has collected Rs 6.35 crore on its day 16.
