EastEnders' Ross takes action to cover up Joel's crimes as he makes discovery
EastEnders' Ross Marshall (Alex Walkinshaw) takes shocking action to cover up his twisted son Joel Marshall's (Max Murray) latest crimes next week after he makes a shocking discovery. Since arriving in Walford with Ross and his dad's partner Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) earlier this year, Joel has been at the centre of a dark incel plot. After it was revealed he had previously upskirted one of his classmates back in Australia, Joel recorded himself and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) having sex without her consent. Since then, the teenager has sexually harassed a passenger on the tube and has also been seen watching videos from a misogynistic influencer online. In scenes to air on the BBC soap next week, Joel's behaviour continues to worsen after Ross has to tell him the news that his mum is getting remarried. Reeling from the update, Joel slips out and heads to The Vic to hang out with his friend Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), but it's not long before Joel leads him astray and the pair steal drinks from the barrel store. Ross and Vicki, and Kat and Alfie Moon (Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) are furious when they find the pair, but Joel lashes out with a derogatory outburst at Kat, leaving the parents aghast. Ross later makes another attempt to get through to Joel about his behaviour, and they bond when Joel shares a video from the influencer that he's been following, which Ross wrongly perceives as innocent. Shortly afterwards, however, Ross makes a worrying discovery on Joel's laptop and destroys it. What has Ross uncovered? Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Vicki is later stunned to discover the real reason why Ross broke the laptop and orders her partner to be firm with Joel – despite Vicki herself having covered for him by bribing the woman he assaulted on the tube into not going to the police. More Trending While Ross is heartened after confiding in Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) about his parenting woes, his hopefulness is short-lived when Joel shows his true colours once again, this time in front of punters at The Vic. Joel goes there to apologise to Kat about his previous outburst, but when he overhears Vicki chatting with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) about parenting and men, he is riled – and his anger sparks some worrying consequences… View More » EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 4 August at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer. Friends outraged after Airbnb host cancels booking because of where they're from
Airbnb said they suspended the host and are now investigating the matter after pals Jemma Louise Gough, 38, and Jamie Lee Watkins, 37, were denied a stay in Manchester Two pals who booked a trip to Manchester for a concert were left "gobsmacked" after being denied an Airbnb stay simply because they were "from Wales". Jemma Louise Gough, 38, and Jamie Lee Watkins, 37, had been planning to travel from Cwmbran, South Wales, to see Australian music DJ Sonny Fodera perform at Co-op Live in November. But when they tried to book the one-night stay at a private property in the city, their reservation was abruptly declined. The pair, who wrote on the listing that they were coming 'from Wales to see the gig', were left baffled and politely messaged the host to ask why. The response came back bluntly: "Because you're from WALES." Jemma, a school support officer and mum-of-two, said the message left her stunned. "My mouth hit the floor – nothing else other than 'because you're from Wales'. It was nothing about us going to the concert or whatever, it was just discrimination of the country. We're amazing people, the Welsh are lush. I don't know what me and my friend - or the whole of Wales - did that's so horrible. It's absolutely horrendous." It comes after another Brit abroad slammed an all-inclusive hotel food, asking 'what on earth is this?' Jamie asked the host for further explanation as to why they'd had their booking rejected, saying it was 'discrimination under the Equality Act 2010'. She said her message was read, but received no response. Registered nurse Jamie, who attempted to make the booking through her account, said: "I just thought, 'oh my gosh, how can you say no just because I'm from Wales?'. Se added: "It was really blunt, just one line: because you are from, in capitals, Wales. What difference does that make? I was just a bit shocked really that people still say things like that. If [they] had said 'I don't want people going to concerts and coming back if they'd had a drink or something, I'd be like yeah, okay, that's fine. That's an explanation." An Airbnb spokesperson said: "Discrimination, including on the basis of nationality, has no place on Airbnb. As soon as this report was brought to our attention, we reached out to the guest to provide our support and suspended the host while we investigate this matter."

EastEnders' Natalie Cassidy 'bricking it' as she admits weakness ahead of new TV show
Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy, whose character Sonia Fowler left Walford in April, is among the contestants on the new series of Cooking with the Stars Former EastEnders cast member Natalie Cassidy has been "bricking it" over her latest TV project, which is scheduled to launch later this weekend. The actor has teased that she pushed herself out of her comfort zone for the experience. Natalie, 42, announced earlier that year that she would be leaving the BBC soap opera. Her character Sonia Fowler, who first appeared in 1993, then left Walford in scenes that aired back in April, with her seen embarking on a new life abroad with her two children and her sister Bianca Jackson. Following her departure, it was revealed that Natalie will appear on the new series of ITV 's Cooking with the Stars and she's spoken about feeling nervous ahead of the launch. It comes after Channel 4 breaks silence after Gogglebox couple suddenly dumped from show. Natalie, who has been mentored by professional chef Tony Singh for the show, said that she "loves" cooking at home. The actor however spoke to WhatToWatch recently about how the experience differed from that. She recalled having used vegetable stock instead of vegetable oil while practising at home. Natalie continued by telling the outlet: "Usually I'm cooking with a glass of wine with the radio on, leisurely doing a bit of washing and talking to the kids, but this is a completely different ball game." Natalie said: "You have a recipe and you don't have any time to think about it at all." Teasing over one of Sonia's job on EastEnders, she said: "This is not the cafe on Albert Square, I need to produce high-end grub and I'm bricking it!" She also shared that she signed up for the show to expand her culinary abilities, revealing that her "staples" include roast dinners and spaghetti. Natalie said they are "good basics" but wanted to learn more about herbs, spices and different cultures through the competition show. The former soap star said that she wanted to "impress" her two children in the kitchen. Natalie teased that she also hoped to learn where the chefs "go to eat," saying that she wants to get a list of restaurants and "hidden gems". Whilst speaking to the outlet, Natalie revealed her strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the competition element of Cooking with the Stars. The show sees celebrities go head-to-head in the kitchen before being judged. Natalie said that being "organised" is among her strengths. She shared her dislike for "lateness," adding that she's "very aware of time" which she hoped would prove beneficial on the show when it comes to timings over her cooking. She then admitted that her weakness is "the chopping side of things". Natalie told the outlet that loved ones will often offer to take over chopping items if next to her in the kitchen because the actor is an "Awkward Annie".
