Carlos Alcaraz made his feelings very clear in response to Emma Raducanu rumours

Daily Mirror5 days ago
Carlos Alcaraz has been romantically linked with British tennis star Emma Raducnau for some time but the two-time Wimbledon champion once moved to address the rumours
Carlos Alcaraz will be licking his wounds after his dreams of clinching a third straight Wimbledon title were dashed on Sunday. The Spanish tennis star was beaten by his rival Jannik Sinner, who triumphed 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to claim his maiden SW19 crown.
Alcaraz is no doubt now experiencing a different vibe from the aftermath of last year's event. After winning the competition in 2024, he was spotted dancing the night away with women's champion Barbora Krejcikova at the annual Wimbledon Champions' Dinner, as is tradition.

Yet, it wasn't their dance moves that sparked a media frenzy but rather Emma Raducanu's presence in the Centre Court stands as he dispatched Novak Djokovic for his second Wimbledon title.

Alcaraz later found himself batting away whispers of a romance with the British star, who exited this year's tournament in the fourth round after a thrilling clash with Aryna Sabalenka. Despite the relentless rumour mill, Alcaraz brushed off any notion of love with a chuckle.
When quizzed last summer about Raducanu attending the 2024 final, he played down its significance, saying: "I don't know, I don't know. I think a lot of people came to see the final.
"I think Novak and I always put on a good game, a show on the court. I think it is a beautiful game to watch. And she is from here, so I imagine that she wanted to come and see it. If there was a Grand Slam in Murcia I would 100 percent go to the final, even if I wasn't playing."

But the Spaniard couldn't resist teasing, adding: "I don't know if she came to the finals or if she came to see me. Who knows? You have to ask her, but I hope she enjoyed the final."
Despite Alcaraz maintaining they're merely friends, speculation continues to swirl around their blockbuster pairing ahead of the US Open. Tournament bosses have unveiled a glittering lineup for their two-day mixed doubles spectacle during 'Fan Week', with all focus now on the dream team featuring both former US Open winners.

Alcaraz recently set tongues wagging when he confessed Raducanu "will be the boss" during their partnership. In a BBC chat at Wimbledon, the duo fielded questions about what they'd quiz each other on before heading to New York, reports the Express.
"Ooh, good question," Raducanu said. "I would like to know how much of the court he can cover in New York." When posed the same query, Alcaraz burst into laughter before declaring: "I'm just going to serve and I'm gonna pull myself away and I let her play. She will cover a lot of the court. She will be the boss. I will do whatever she wants me to do."

The tennis world was also sent into a top spin when Alcaraz let slip that he had made a "special request" to partner with Raducanu for the upcoming mixed event in August.
"Yeah. I mean, the tournament told us about the tournament, the mixed tournament," Alcaraz told the media. "I was thinking that I couldn't play better if it wasn't with Emma. I just asked Emma if she wants to play doubles with me. Yeah, I made that special request."
However, Raducanu didn't jump at the chance straight away, as Alcaraz, who has five Grand Slam titles under his belt, confessed she took her time before deciding to join forces.
Raducanu later said: "Got to keep them on their toes! I mean, of course, I had to ask my team if they wanted me to play. But for me, when he asked me, I was going to say yes, I just had to kind of go through the formality of asking my coach, so I didn't just make the decision."
During her pre-tournament press conference for this year's Wimbledon, Raducanu again faced questions about a potential romantic connection with Alcaraz after they were spotted filming a promo together at the All England Club. She concluded by stating she had a "good time" with him, adding: "We're just good friends."

Bear Grylls reportedly set to host bizarre new BBC show that sees 'feuding people rekindle through nature'

Bear Grylls is reportedly lined-up to host a bizarre new BBC show that will see the born survivor 'rekindle feuding people through nature'. The 51-year-old adventurer will lead colleagues, friends and neighbours alike on an expedition in Wild Reckoning, according to a TV source. It's thought the show will air next year, after his Netflix series Celebrity Bear Hunt was axed after just one series. But it seems he's back with something a little different this time. An insider told The Sun: 'Bear will be back doing what he does best - showing people that nature is the best healer. 'He's married for 25 years and a dad of three so is well versed in handling such challenges.' Bear has previously said that good communication with wife Shara, 51, and their three sons is the key to getting along. Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and Bear's reps for comment. In June, it was confirmed Netflix have axed their big money television show Celebrity Bear Hunt. The programme, which was set in Costa Rica and was hosted by Holly Willoughby alongside Bear Grylls, won't return. Sources close to the show which aired in February say that while the ratings did well it was expensive to make and Netflix are now planning to do more live events rather than pre-recorded shows. One told MailOnline: 'Everyone was very proud of the show but when it came to it, it was just so expensive to make. 'You had to have a whole set in Costa Rica, loads of staff and loads of celebrities. The overheads were eyewatering.' It is understood that cheaper locations were looked at but nothing was appeared to be suitable. Celebrity Bear Hunt had an impressive line up of celebrities including Spice Girl Mel B and tennis player Boris Becker who would not have been cheap to hire, according to sources. Other celebrities that took part included Lottie Moss, Danny Cipriani, Big Zuu, Joe Thomas, Kola Bokinni, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Leomie Anderson, Shirley Ballas, Steph McGovern and Una Healy. The show, which was Holly's first programme with Netflix, featured twelve celebrities who are sent to a jungle in Costa Rica, where they were forced to avoid being hunted down by Grylls. Along the way, the celebrities faced various challenges and solve puzzles.

Eubank Jr-Benn rematch 'dead'

A rematch between British rivals Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn is "dead", says promoter Eddie beat Benn in a unanimous points decision at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April.A second bout had been agreed for 20 September, however, it was revealed earlier this week the contest was unlikely to take who promotes Benn, told BBC Sport his fighter was now looking to move away from the rematch, with eyes instead on a world title shot."At the moment the fight between Eubank and Benn is dead," he revealed. "September 20th was the date, now I believe there is some kind of conversation about a November fight."Benn isn't interested in being messed around or waiting around. He would love and arguably prefer a shot at the world title. "If that presented itself, then we would definitely look at that option."Benn, 28, has also claimed to be looking at alternative options, with a move back down to welterweight on the cards. He told BBC Sport: "We signed a two-fight deal, we were ready to go. The date was announced straight after the first fight for September, done a lot of negotiations in terms of venues, dates. "They had all agreed September 20th, then Eubank came out and said he wasn't ready."Asked if Benn was prepared to wait until the end of the year, Hearn added: "So we have to give them a chance."We just appeal to Eubank, if you're not ready to go back to war with Benn and you'd rather sit at a poker table in Las Vegas, good luck to you. But let us move on.""We're ready to move on, drop down to 147 and get a world title," said first fight was organised by Ring Magazine, which is owned by Turki Alalshikh, and it was thought the rematch would also fall under the Riyadh Season on Saturday's broadcast before Oleksandr Usyk's win over Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, Alalshikh said the Eubank-Benn bout could still happen and suggested January or February as potential alternative has not commented on the situation himself, and it is unclear when an official decision will be 35-year-old was fined £10,000 earlier this month by the British Boxing Board of Control over "misuse of social media" in the build-up to the first contest.

Oleksandr Usyk proves too strong again for Daniel Dubois at Wembley

Home favourite Dubois was back at the national stadium 10 months on from his stunning knockout win over Anthony Joshua and in the ring with Usyk for a second time. Usyk had shown his class during a one-sided contest in Krakow in 2023, where Dubois was adjudged to have landed an illegal low blow in the fifth round, but the Ukrainian had been warned throughout fight week he would face a 'different' boxer on this occasion. Yet, the undefeated 38-year-old again proved too strong for Dubois. After Usyk enjoyed the better of the opening four rounds, he produced a masterful fifth-round finish to further cement his status as one of boxing's all-time greats. After Usyk put Dubois down with a powerful right punch, the British boxer bravely made it back to his feet but was floored again a matter of seconds later by a huge left hook to lose for a third time. It earned Usyk the 24th win of a stellar professional career and ensured he got his hands back on the IBF title to add to his WBA, WBO and WBC belts and become undisputed in the blue riband division for a second time, in what was dubbed his penultimate bout. '38 is a young guy, remember! 38 is only start,' Usyk smirked after he secured a seventh consecutive triumph against British fighters. Even though the crowd was slightly down on the 96,000 packed in to see Dubois shock Joshua in September, the prize on offer was even greater with all four world heavyweight belts on the line for the first time in England. OLEKSANDR USYK KNOCKS OUT DANIEL DUBOIS🤯#UsykDubois2 — DAZN Boxing (@DAZNBoxing) July 19, 2025 The prospect of being undisputed in the blue-riband division had long been a goal for Dubois and after a dramatic build-up to the bout with a push on the Wembley turf followed by the scream in the face of Usyk on Tuesday, the talking was over. Following spectacular ring walks with fireworks for both men, the duo immediately traded off but while Dubois briefly had Usyk on the ropes, the former cruiserweight slipped out in classy fashion and finished round one with a flush left hook to the face of the Londoner. It was a similar story in rounds two and three with Usyk's movement too good for Dubois, who got caught twice when trying to land the money shot. Dubois turned to the body in the fourth round but Usyk continued to show his experience and craft as the British boxer failed to land cleanly. The eagerness of Dubois to make his mark was evident at the start of round five when he was ready 10 seconds before the count, but it would soon be curtains for the 27-year-old. Usyk almost got the job done with a huge right, which floored Dubois who showed guts to rise again after an eight-second count. It would prove a false dawn as almost immediately Usyk landed a massive left hook and there was no coming back this time for Dubois as his undisputed dream ended in painful fashion on home turf. Dubois is the third fighter from Britain, after Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, to lose twice to the 6ft 3in southpaw. An understandably jovial Usyk hinted at another showdown with Fury and Joshua during his post-fight interview but made clear his desire to 'rest' after he experienced London jubilation for a third time following Olympic gold at the London Games in 2012 and his maiden world heavyweight titles at Tottenham's stadium four years ago. 'Next? I don't know. I want to rest. Yeah, Derek (Chisora) here? I don't know,' Usyk reflected before his next answer sparked enormous cheers. 'Maybe Tyson Fury? 'Three options, Derek Chisora and Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. Listen, I cannot say because I want to go back home.'
