'We're heartbroken by the tragic flooding in the Hill Country.
To every family grieving and every first responder helping others through the worst, please know the Spurs family is with you and holding you close in our thoughts. Our hearts are especially heavy for the children and their families whose lives have been forever changed.'
The Hill Country area, situated just northwest of San Antonio, is also home to a lot of fans and families with strong roots to the franchise. The message was uploaded after the extreme rainfall last week that caused hazardous flash flooding.

It also destroyed houses, displaced the residents, and unfortunately killed several people. Rescue teams and volunteers have worked day and night to evacuate people stranded and deliver aid to the affected communities.
According to the BBC, at least 32 individuals died, including 14 children, after a wave of flash flooding hit Kerr County, Texas. Eight of the deceased are still unidentified.

Search and rescue operations continue, as 27 girls remain missing after water flooded the Christian camp.
While locals are coping with the rainy conditions, the National Weather Service had issued further flood warnings.
Officials have asked Texans to remain together, as homes have been destroyed, and children are still unaccounted for. Additionally, Texas Governor Greg Abbott also had similar things to say as he signed a continued emergency declaration and requested help from the federal government.
Meanwhile, with months yet to go in the basketball season, the San Antonio Spurs have indicated via the message that their concern have reached far beyond the playing court. They are genuinely worried about their fans and the rest of the population.
