Emma Raducanu to face young British wild card Mimi Xu in Wimbledon opener
Xu, 17, is one of three home teenage debutantes in the women's draw, and she will get a first shot at British number one Raducanu.
The former US Open champion reached the fourth round last year but faces an uphill battle to do so again, with top seed Aryna Sabalenka and former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova both in her section.

It was a tough draw for the British players overall, with Katie Boulter – unseeded this year – taking on top-10 star Paula Badosa, while British number three Sonay Kartal faces 20th seed Jelena Ostapenko.
Sixteen-year-olds Hannah Klugman and Mika Stojsavljevic also drew seeds, with the former facing former US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez and Stojsavljevic meeting Ashlyn Krueger.
The bottom quarter could throw up some big-hitting contests in the second week with Iga Swiatek potentially facing a fourth-round clash against former champion Elena Rybakina and a quarter-final with second seed Coco Gauff having dropped to eighth in the rankings.
Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova, meanwhile, will take on exciting Filipino teenager Alexandra Eala in the opening round, provided the Czech recovers from a leg injury in time.

However, the 25-year-old Bristolian has been in a class of one so far here, and he will start the 11th round of this 24-race season as the favourite to claim a win which could serve as a springboard to get his title charge back on track a week out from his home event at Silverstone. Norris' first lap in Q3 placed him two tenths faster than anyone else, and he then pulled out more than half-a-second with his next lap. 'It was a good lap, that's for sure,' said Norris. 'I feel like my first lap in Q3 was good but I knew I could get more time and I did exactly that. I did what I planned to do and when I do that and it goes right it is usually very good. 'Some of my tough moments have been in qualifying, so to have a performance like that is exciting. I am very happy with today but I want to prove it to myself over and over again and I hope this is just the beginning.' Verstappen is 43 points off the championship pace and he faces the prospect of losing further ground following a disappointing qualifying session at a venue he has so often ruled. Verstappen has won five times in the Styrian mountains, and taken the last four pole positions here, but he has looked out of sorts in his unruly Red Bull machine. One of the grid's other rookies, Gabriel Bortoleto, impressed to haul his Sauber into Q3 for the first occasion in his career. He will start eighth on Sunday.

Emma Raducanu has responded to rumours of a blossoming romance between herself and her US Open doubles partner Carlos Alcaraz ahead of the start of Wimbledon on Monday Emma Raducanu has laughed off suggestions of a romantic relationship with Carlos Alcaraz on the eve of Wimbledon. Raducanu will team up with Alcaraz to play mixed doubles at the US Open later this year – and the exciting pairing has led to suggestions of something more between them. The British No.1 is preparing to face teenage wildcard Mimi Xu in the first round at Wimbledon on Monday. The world No.38 is focused on the match after competing at Eastbourne, but still had to address rumours about Alcaraz in her pre-tournament press conference in SW19. Raducanu has been friends with the Spaniard for four years and they were spotted practising together at Wimbledon on Friday. Asked if they had discussed tactics for the US Open, she replied: 'No, it was fun yesterday. We were both on court with (water brand) Evian. 'Yeah, we were just getting some volley practicing ahead of New York. Yeah, I'm really happy obviously to be playing with him. Yeah, we had a good time yesterday.' Later in the press conference, came the question she must have known was coming. Asked if there was any substance in the romance rumours, Raducanu replied with a smile: 'We're just good friends.' The interview moderator then stepped in to end the questions, prompting a laugh from Raducanu, who added: 'Way to wrap up!' Raducanu and Alcaraz are both 22 years old and the British star recently explained how they became friends. She said: 'I've known him for years and actually in Wimbledon 2021, it was like kind of the first time I started getting to know him, and I had a good run there and then also again in the US Open in 2021. 'And I remember he was always playing the day before me and I was playing like the second day of the round. And I would see him win and then I would have motivation to win and get myself into that position too. 'And I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout kind of win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of, I guess, go through that tournament together and then I kept going through the US Open, but we were staying in touch for the whole time and yeah, it's nice.' She added: 'We have a good relationship still. He's obviously overtaken me a lot, but it's nice that we have that from a while ago. 'I think for all of us, we really kind of value those connections that we had from when we were young because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age because you're like, that's a real genuine connection, because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends but the ones that you've known for a long time mean a lot more to you.'

Griekspoor triumphs in Mallorca with Wimbledon looming
SANTA PONSA, Spain, June 28 (Reuters) - Tallon Griekspoor won his third career title on Saturday, defeating Corentin Moutet 7-5 7-6(3) in the final of the ATP 250 Mallorca Championships. The 28-year-old Dutchman needed nearly two hours to prevail on the grass courts in warm weather at Santa Ponsa, near Palma, the capital of the Balearic Islands. Frenchman Moutet carved out several break chances and managed to capitalise on key moments in the opening set, but it still was not enough to shift the momentum his way as Griekspoor held his nerve and good volley game to seal the win. For 26-year-old Moutet, the frustration was visible as he fell short in a second career final, having also lost against Andrey Rublev in Doha back in 2020. Griekspoor, making his return from an injury that had forced him to withdraw from his fourth-round clash with Alexander Zverev at the French Open, made a strong statement ahead of Wimbledon, showcasing his form on grass. The Wimbledon tournament starts on Monday and will run to July 13.
