'Meret made his debut with the Azzurri on December 8, 2018, in a 4-0 home win against Frosinone. He has made 212 appearances for Napoli, keeping a clean sheet on 68 occasions.
'Wearing the Napoli shirt, Meret has won two Serie A titles, in the 2022-23 and 2024-25 campaigns, and one Coppa Italia in 2019-20.'
Napoli added that no goalkeeper in Europe's top five leagues kept more clean sheets than Meret in the 2024-25 season, when the 28-year-old also matched his best-ever tally in a Serie A campaign, avoiding conceding in 16 matches, just as he did in the 2022-23 season.

Arsenal's Nicolas Jackson move should raise alarm bells for Liverpool

It's been all good news in the transfer window as far as Liverpool is concerned, with the Reds making three major signings before the start of July. Liverpool has committed around $250 million to the signings of Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, essentially rebuilding the spine of the team — but one area the club is yet to address is the striker position, and there's no rush to do so. Advertisement Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota tallied seven and six goals respectively in the Premier League this season, and the former is expected to depart this summer amid interest from Napoli. The interest from Saudi Arabia remains, while Atletico Madrid, Napoli and AC Milan are also being linked with the 25-year-old; Football Italia reported this week that Nunez has made it clear that he would favor a move to Napoli over any of the other options on the table. Advertisement Napoli is said to have made a verbal offer of around €43 million ($50 million) for Nunez, which is not far away from Liverpool's reported €50 million ($58 million) asking price for the player. Arsenal finds itself in a similar situation to Liverpool, in that the Gunners' two main strikers, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus, managed just 12 Premier League goals between them. Mikel Arteta's side is crying out for a striker, and Arteta will come under serious scrutiny if the club neglects to sign one — particularly if the start of the season does not go to plan. Interestingly, Arsenal is currently being linked with a shock move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, and he would represent a significant upgrade on the North London club's current striking options. Advertisement Jackson may not have been as prolific as some of the great Chelsea strikers during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge, but 30 goals in 80 appearances is not to be sniffed at, especially for a player of his age who has been playing in team in transition. Arsenal struggled with injuries throughout the 2024-25 campaign, and the presence of a dependable striker in Arteta's squad would be welcome. Arne Slot will be watching on as Arsenal works on preparing its squad for another title tilt next term, and the sight of the Gunners' possibly strengthening with the addition of an out-and-out striker will make him sit up and take notice.

Bologna defenders Beukema and Posch pushing for the exit

Bologna are in for a defensive revamp, as Sam Beukema is pushing to leave for Napoli, while Stefan Posch has interest from Germany. The Rossoblu won the Coppa Italia and therefore qualified for the Europa League next season, consolidating their status with coach Vincenzo Italiano. Advertisement According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, via Tuttomercatoweb, Beukema's father visited the Bologna head office this week to openly request a transfer. He had also met with Napoli director of sport Giovanni Manna two days ago as a representative of Global Football Management. There is a big gap between Bologna's €30m asking price and the most recent proposal from Napoli, which is thought to be around €25m. Meanwhile, Atalanta have decided not to use their option to buy Posch outright from Bologna. German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg notes that he has interest from several Bundesliga sides, and should be quite cheap considering his contract only runs to June 2026.
