Former India captain Virat Kohli posted on his Instagram, "Shocked to hear about the plane crash at Ahmedabad today. Praying for all those affected and thoughts with their families."

Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra reacted with a brief but heartfelt message, "Ohhh God. Thoughts and prayers."
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who hails from Gujarat, also offered his condolences: "Deeply saddened by the Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad today. Prayers for the passengers, crew, and their families."
The flight, headed to London's Gatwick Airport, departed at 13:38 pm from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The failure to achieve lift led to the aircraft crashing into the BJ Medical College.

Delegation visits Switzerland for dialogue on Olympics
A high-level Indian delegation comprising Minister of State for Home, Sports and Youth Affairs, Harsh Sanghavi, concluded a visit to Lausanne, Switzerland, to engage in the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) 'Continuous Dialogue' process, a release by the Gujarat government said on Tuesday. Even as the Gujarat government plans to bid for the 2036 Olympics, it is looking at the games as 'a catalyst to elevate Indian sport, offering 600 million young Indians their first opportunity to witness the Olympics on home soil…the Games would be a generational springboard for socio-economic development, innovation, education, and youth pride, advancing both India and the Olympic Movement', the release said. Sanghavi was quoted as saying that hosting the games 'would be a monumental step for Gujarat, fostering unprecedented growth and inspiring a new generation'. The visit was aimed at exploring the opportunity and feasibility of India hosting a future edition of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Indian delegates also included Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President P T Usha and other officials of the IOA and the Gujarat government.
