Lakers' LeBron James urged to retire by Jeff Teague
LeBron James ended his 22nd NBA season with a disappointing playoff exit. The Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers in a decisive first-round series. Despite trading for Luka Doncic, James and the Lakers were unable to make a deep playoff run. With Mark Walter taking over as Los Angeles' new owner, Jeff Teague thinks James should retire.

Teague gave his opinion on James' future on Wednesday's episode of the Club 520 Podcast. The former All-Star point guard played against the future Hall-of-Famer throughout his NBA career, including three playoff series. Unfortunately for Teague, he never beat James in the postseason, suffering sweeps in three consecutive seasons to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
James has been the model of consistency for his team, but the Lakers' situation has changed over the last 12 months. Adding Doncic shifts the team's focus from now to the future. The arrival of Mark Walter as the new owner could help Los Angeles attract more stars to carry the Lakers into the future as well.
According to Teague, James has simply played in the league too long. He reacted to rumors that James could spend the last seasons of his career with the Cavaliers, but does not want him to play in the NBA any longer.
'And Bron[LeBron James], this ain't no disrespect,' Teague said. 'You my favorite player, bro. I think you the GOAT all-time. But I'm tired, bro. If you want to go somewhere, me and the rest of your fan base—we tired.'

Teague is not the only former player that has brought up James retiring this season. Experts and NBA media personnel have said that it is time for the four-time champion to hang up his sneakers after last season. However, James has not confirmed anything as it pertains to his future plans.
Along with his retirement rumors, there is speculation that the Lakers forward could entertain a trade. One that has gained more steam since the ACL injuries in the postseason involves the Cavaliers. James led them to a title back in 2016 and fans believe that he could be the key to Cleveland's success in 2026-27.
On the other hand, James has an opportunity to bounce back strong alongside Doncic next season. If Walter's arrival helps Los Angeles obtain a big man to anchor their defense, the Lakers are dangerous.
Despite that, Teague is ready for James to call it a career. If he does, James will walk away as one of the best players to ever touch an NBA floor.

Kai Cenat & Crew Take Over Tony Parker's Texas Mansion For ‘AMP Summer' Streaming Marathon
Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty Kai Cenat already has Gen Z on the edge of their computer chairs, and isn't letting up with his latest streaming event. His next big venture has been dubbed the AMP Summer, and he announced it via a trailer a few days ago. Set in the sweltering Texas desert, the AMP (Any Means Possible) crew, consisting of him, Duke Dennis, Chrisnxtdoor, Fanum and ImDavisss in their broken-down RV. Agent00 narrates the crew attempting to fix their ride when T-Pain arrives on horseback to offer them a nearby crib to stream from that's outfitted with a 24-hour restaurant, two basketball courts, and a waterpark where they promise to stream for 12 hours daily for a month, officially kicking off at 1 p.m. on July 1. Since they're in the Lone Star State, there's no better way to kick off the marathon than by hanging out with Texas legend and former San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker. Upon arrival, the four-time NBA champion shows the AMP crew around his estate, showcasing his superhero memorabilia, what he calls his 'secret championship room,' which features all the sports goods from his storied NBA career, and the 24-hour Nando's restaurant in the backyard. With as many hijinks and guests the AMP squad gets involved with, they'll need a lot of space for their antics, and the championship-worthy home should be plenty big. Spanning 53 total acres, the property features a private water park, including lazy rivers, and boasts 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and four half bathrooms. The house also features a nearly 6,000-square-foot gym, a tennis court, an outdoor volleyball court, a basketball court, and a wine room that can accommodate up to 1,500 bottles. Parker listed the compound for $16.5 million in 2024, but the former Spur clearly hasn't found anyone interested in taking it off his hands. Parker even hung out with the streamers in the home's restaurant, telling them about the time Kobe Bryant learned French to trash-talk him during the playoffs. 'It didn't work, but mad respect he learned the language,' Parker said. The streaming has already commenced with Cenat revealing his setup for the entirety of July, which is literally a super-sized version of his Atlanta home, including the white walls and greyscale leopard carpet. There's even a massive computer chair placed in front of his desk that's so large several members of the crew can sit comfortably as their feet dangle. See social media's response to Cenat's latest streaming move below. Kai Cenat & Crew Take Over Tony Parker's Texas Mansion For 'AMP Summer' Streaming Marathon was originally published on

Nebraska forward Juwan Gary signs with Los Angeles Clippers for NBA Summer League
Former Nebraska basketball forward Juwan Gary will play with the Los Angeles Clippers' summer league team. This was announced by HuskerOnline's Robin Washut earlier this week. Gary averaged 14.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game for Nebraska last season. He started in all 34 games for Nebraska and was able to finish off what was a stellar Huskers career. All told, he recorded 12.5 points to go along with 5.8 rebounds in three seasons at Nebraska. Now, he is getting a chance to show his talents at an NBA level, with Summer League action officially beginning on Saturday. Gary's game could translate well to the NBA. His solid defensive skills, as well as his ability to hit the mid-range jumper, could prove valuable to a team looking for additional scoring. His physicality and ability to finish around the rim could also help teams fortify their production inside the paint. Former UNC standout talks about his basketball role prior to NBA
How will this former UNC basketball standout's role change in his rookie NBA season? The emergence of Drake Powell was a major reason why UNC made this year's NCAA Tournament, a selection highly-debated amongst college basketball analysts. Powell started his freshman year at North Carolina as a key reserve, with head coach Hubert Davis electing to start a 3-guard lineup. As Hubert quickly learned this small-ball lineup hurt the Tar Heels against taller opponents, Powell entered the starting lineup – and made his greatest impact with lockdown defense. Selected 22nd overall in the 2025 NBA Draft and now a member of the Brooklyn Nets, Powell started 27 of the 40 Tar Heel games he appeared in. Powell's college averages of 7.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game are small in comparison to his high school numbers – 17.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks per game senior year – but he found ways to contribute at UNC without filling up the stat sheet. Powell recently had an interesting comment about his time at UNC ahead of being drafted in the first round. "I'd say it really just kind of switched my mentality a little bit," Powell said via Lucas Kaplan of NetsDaily. "You know, like you said, my usage rate, it dropped a lot once I got to North Carolina, but I was still playing, like, heavy minutes and being able to help the team be successful. "I really could have, you know, just sulked and just complained to the coaches. But like, what does that get done? That was really the way I thought. And so I just accepted the role that I was given with open arms and and, yeah, I just wanted to be able to play it to the best of my ability to help the team be successful." Powell joins an extremely young Brooklyn roster that includes fellow 2025 Draft selection Egor Demin, budding star Cam Thomas, recent trade acquisition Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton. With plenty of minutes up for grabs, Powell has endless opportunities to make his first NBA season a success.
