‘To end militancy, you have to win hearts of Kashmiris': Engineer Rashid
Speaking during the special discussion on Operation Sindoor, Rashid said: 'To end militancy you will have to win the hearts of Kashmiris. But since yesterday none of you here have spoken about Kashmiris. Do you want Kashmir's land or Kashmir's people? The ruling party and the Opposition will have to decide today.'
On the situation of J&K, he said, 'You say everything is fine there. But you do not allow us to write anything on social media. Over 3,000 people are in jails.'
The MP also said that everyone in the House talked about US President Donald Trump but he does not have the solution to the problem. 'J&K people, including Hindus, Muslims and every other community have the solution to the Kashmir issue. It is not a communal issue, it is a political issue. You need to give a political resolution…' 'When you could not speak about me, what would you speak about Kashmiris,' he said.
Rashid said the government is 'in a hurry to make Hindu rashtra'. 'Do that happily but don't touch the demography of my Jammu and Kashmir and don't disturb the culture of J&K. Let J&K remain J&K. Do whatever you want to do with Pakistan, how are we concerned? You have a dispute with them (Pakistan) but we are suffering in the middle.' 'We are tired of carrying dead bodies,' he said.
Rashid also asked the government how many members from Kashmir were there in the seven multi-party delegation sent by the Centre to different countries to convey India's message of zero tolerance against terrorism in May.

Will take up your demands with railway minister: Om Birla to PROs
New Delhi, Aug 2 (PTI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday assured public relations officers of the Indian Railways that he would take up their demands, including cadre upgradation, with Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Birla, who attended the All India Railway Public Relations Seminar in Rajasthan's Kota, appreciated the 'significant" role of the cadre in disseminating information related to train services to the common people. 'Public Relations Officers have shared with me their demands regarding cadre upgradation among others, and I will convey them to the railway minister," Birla said. He asserted that the Public Relations Department of the Railways is a 'bridge of trust" between the government and the people. The seminar — organised by the Railway PRO cadre for the first time — deliberated upon the department's current operational practices, responsibilities, and structural challenges. Senior Public Relations Officers, Public Relations Officers and Publicity Inspectors from across the country shared their insights, experiences, and practical suggestions regarding cadre-related concerns. 'This interactive session proved to be a milestone in defining the department's future path, enhancing its efficiency, and laying a strong foundation for cadre restructuring," the Bhartiya Railway Jansampark Karmi Kalyan Samiti, a representative body of the cadre, said in a statement. 'It not only reflected the unity and collective spirit of the department but also served as a powerful platform to bring the concerns of the Public Relations Cadre to the attention of policymakers," according to the statement. PM Modi dedicates Operation Sindoor success to Lord Shiva
VARANASI: Invoking Lord Shiv's 'Rudra roop' (fierce form) to describe India's resolute action against terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated the success of Operation Sindoor to Lord Vishwanath and said it showcased the country's strength to the world and delivered a clear message that anyone who dares attack India will not be spared, not even in 'Pataal Lok'. Opening his address with chants of "Om Namah Parvati Pataye, Har Har Mahadev", the PM recalled the pain of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack . "My heart was filled with sorrow for the 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack," Modi said during his 51st visit to his Lok Sabha constituency. "My promise to avenge 'Sindoor' of our daughters was fulfilled with the blessings of Mahadev... I dedicate the success of the operation to the feet of Mahadev," the PM said. Addressing a public meeting in the Kalikadham area, Modi said, "The valour of Indian defence forces and blessings of Lord Vishwanath, who signifies 'welfare', but embodies the fierce form of Rudra and Kaal Bhairav when confronted with terror and injustice, made it possible to fulfil his promise to avenge the Sindoor of the daughters." The PM said the success of Operation Sindoor could not be digested by Congress and its 'chela-chapatas' (followers and alliance partners), and they are troubled that India destroyed terrorist bases in Pakistan. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like For all your EV needs ScottishPower Learn More Undo "When the visuals showed how Indian drones precisely targeted and reduced terrorist headquarters to ruins, apart from destroying Pakistani air bases, like Pakistan — the mastermind of terrorism — the Congress and SP also started mourning. " Questioning whether Sindoor — the symbol of dignity and sacrifice — could ever be considered a spectacle, Modi said these opposition parties insulted the valour of the defence forces by terming Operation Sindoor a 'tamasha'. He asked whether the bravery of the armed forces and the fulfilment of a vow to avenge the sindoor of sisters could be trivialised in such a manner. Without taking any name, the PM said that for his vote-bank and appeasement politics, the leader of SP, who kept giving clean chits to terrorists and withdrew cases against those involved in bomb blasts during his regime in UP, questioned the timing of the elimination of the accused of the Pahalgam massacre in Parliament. Modi asked, "Whether the opposition leader wanted that he should be given a call before initiating this action or wait to enable terrorists to escape. " These parties are troubled by the elimination of terrorists and the name of Operation Sindoor, he said, adding that, "This is a new India — one that worships Lord Shiv and also knows how to embody the form of Kaal Bhairav against the country's enemies." Made-in-UP missiles to destroy Pak if it indulges in any misadventure: PM Mentioning how the world witnessed the power of India's indigenous weaponry and the effectiveness of India's air defence systems, missiles, and drones during Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that the impact of BrahMos missiles not only instilled fear in the enemy but also demonstrated the progress being made under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Modi said, "Soon, production of BrahMos missiles will begin in Lucknow... Major companies setting up their plants in the defence corridor of UP and starting to manufacture weapons will further strengthen our forces. If Pakistan commits another misdeed, missiles made in UP will destroy its terrorists." "With many major defence firms setting up their manufacturing plants in the UP defence corridor, made in India weapons will soon become the strength of our forces," he said. ED will visit Khotkar's home for 3rd time, says Gorantyal
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Within a day of joining BJP, Jalna's former three-time MLA Kailash Gorantyal claimed that the Enforcement Directorate had twice visited Shiv Sena's five-time MLA Arjun Khotkar's residence, and the ED is expected to visit him for a third time in the Dhule cash seizure case. When contacted, Gorantyal confirmed his statement and said he felt compelled to respond after Khotkar began making personal comments about him during a live debate. "Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, as well as deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, had pulled him up due to the Dhule cash seizure case. The ED is going to visit his house due to the Dhule case." In May 2023, Rs 1.8 crore in cash was discovered in room 102 of a govt guest house, booked under the name of Khotkar's personal assistant. This incident occurred during a legislature estimates committee visit to Dhule. Khotkar, a member of this influential committee, was implicated in the matter by Sena (UBT) politician Anil Gote. Subsequently, CM Fadnavis formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the corruption allegations, and the Dhule police registered a non-cognisable offence regarding the seizure of unaccounted cash. Gorantyal also said he joined BJP after being impressed by Operation Sindoor carried out by Indian forces against Pakistan, the Make in India initiative, and advancements in the defence sector. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Having left Congress after over three decades, Gorantyal is credited with coining the slogan 'Pannas Khoke, Ekdum Okay', alleging that Rs 50 crore were taken by each of the Shiv Sena MLAs for switching sides to Eknath Shinde. "Unlike others, I did not switch over to BJP on the assurance of an assembly election ticket or fearing consequences of any ill-doing. Instead, I promised CM Fadnavis of giving them BJP's first mayor for Jalna municipal corporation," said Gorantyal. Despite repeated attempts, Khotkar could not be reached for his comments on the issue. However, sources said that MLA Khotkar will raise the issue with deputy CM and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde.
